SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE - Top 4 Review

So You Think You Can Dance Top 4
Kelsey McNeal/FOX © 2007 Fox Broadcasting Co.

The night is finally here. The top 4 performed for the last time on SO THINK YOU CAN DANCE and it was memorable. All of them surpassed themselves and gave us one of the best shows of the season. I cannot wait for tomorrow night.

My ranking of the top 4:

1. Sabra (no surprises there)
2. Danny & Neil (I think I like them both equally at this point)
3. Lacey

Moving on to the review:

Top 4 - Group Dance - Broadway

Choreography: Tyce DiOrio
Music: "Mein Herr" by Liza Minelli (Cabaret Soundtrack) get it on Musical Cast Recording - Cabaret: The New Broadway Cast Recording - Mein Herr
Thoughts: That was so cool!!! I love Broadway and love that song. What a way to start the show.
Video:

LACEY SCHWIMMER - I'm never as impressed with her solos as the others', but as far as her solos go, this one was pretty good.
Music: "Technologic" by Daft Punk get it on Daft Punk - Musique, Vol. 1 (1993 - 2005) - Technologic (Radio Edit)
Video:

SABRA JOHNSON & NEIL HASKELL - Hip Hop

Choreography: Shane Sparks
Music: "Whine Up" by Kat DeLuna get it on Kat DeLuna - 9 Lives - Whine Up
Thoughts: That was probably my favorite hip hop routine of the season. I don't know why the judges didn't like it, I thought it was sick, I was ready to get up and dance. Neil and Sabra looked good together. Rating: 5/5
Video:

LACEY SCHWIMMER & DANNY TIDWELL - Viennese Waltz

Choreography: Jean-Marc Genereux
Music: "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne get it on Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing - Keep Holding On
Thoughts: Wow, that was beautiful, it just flowed, I really liked it. It didn't hurt that I absolutely love that song too. Rating: 4/5
Video:

NEIL HASKELL - So apparently I like Neil now. He totally grew on me, and I find myself looking forward to watch him perform. I liked his solo and I just think he has grown so much.
Music: "Gravity" by Shawn McDonald get it on Shawn McDonald - Simply Nothing - Gravity
Video:

LACEY SCHWIMMER & SABRA JOHNSON - Jazz

Choreography: Wade Robson
Music: "Koyal (Songbird)" by Nitin Sawhney get it on Nitin Sawhney - Philtre - Koyal (Songbird)
Thoughts: How emotional was that? Or is it just me? I didn't agree with the judges because I think at this point it's not about showing what they can do anymore because we already know what they can do. I think it's about performance, and they both performed this amazingly well, I lost myself into the dance. Plus we all know I love everything Wade does. Rating: 4/5
Video:

DANNY TIDWELL - The interview with Cat made me teary, wow I am so emotional right now. Holy crap that solo was amazing!!!! I LOVED it!!! And the song, so beautiful. Oh wait... I think Danny just won me over. How the heck did he do all those jumps and turns? There are no words, it was so powerful. Go Danny!
Music: "We Are The Champions" by Gavin DeGraw get it on Gavin DeGraw - Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen - EP - We Are the Champions
Video:

DANNY TIDWELL & NEIL HASKELL - Contemporary

Choreography: Mia Michaels
Music: "Are You The One?" by The Presets get it on The Presets - Beams - Are You the One?
Thoughts: That was so cool! Mia Michaels did it again. I loved the costumes, and they had the characters down. By the way, did Neil miss his jump over Danny we saw in the video? Rating: 5/5
Video:

SABRA JOHNSON - We all know how I feel about Sabra, I love her no matter what she does. She is such a beautiful dancer.
Music: "Wonderful World" by James Morrison get it on James Morrison - Undiscovered - Wonderful World
Video:

LACEY SCHWIMMER & NEIL HASKELL - Lindy Hop

Choreography: Nick Williams
Music: "Bill's Bounce" by The Big Elliot Swing Orchestra
Thoughts: Definitely not my favorite of the night, but fun nonetheless. Those crazy lifts, were cool though. I think the only thing negative I would have to say is that I don't feel there is as much chemistry between Neil and Lacey as there is between Neil and Sabra. Rating: 3/5
Video:

SABRA JOHNSON & DANNY TIDWELL - Cha Cha

Choreography: Melanie La Patin
Music: "Gotta Get Down [La Negra Tiene Tumbao] (Spanish Remix)" by Celia Cruz get it on Celia Cruz - Celia Cruz Hits Mix - Gotta Get Down: La Negra Tiene Tumbao
Thoughts: They both looked good. At this point they all look good to me. It was fun to watch. Rating: 3/5

Thanks a lot for doing this re-cap 'n' review and posting it so quickly. You're doing a great service to all SYTYD fans. I have to miss the Finale tomorrow and I will be stopping by your site to get the low-down after.

    Thanks Emma.
As you can tell I am a big "So You Think You Can Dance" fan so it's my pleasure to share this with you.

It's too bad you have to miss the finale tomorrow. I'll try to post something as soon as I can and hopefully give you a good picture of what happened. :-)

Anyone know where I could find the whole episode online?

Sorry Mike, I record shows on my DVR, so I can't help you there.

That's okay. There's one song that was used during the season that I have been looking to get. It was featured in the 8/15 episode when they were doing flashbacks of the top 4's experiences. I think it was a song that Lacey was involved with, but that doesn't really narrow it down. Don't suppose you still happen to have 8/15 recorded and feel like posting a song listing :-)

I actually happen to have the last four episodes of "So You Think You Can Dance" (I like watching the dances over again),.

Let me see if I can find out which song it is. The Lacey song, right?

    Mike,

So I watched the episode again, but I'm not really sure which one of Lacey's part you were referring to. If you want to email me at info@daemonstv.com and give me more details, I'll try to find the title of the song for you. :-)
