Review: The New KNIGHT RIDER on NBC

KNIGHT RIDER - Bruce Davison as Charles Graiman, Deanna Russo as Sarah Graiman, Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer

So I just finished watching the new KNIGHT RIDER on NBC with the new cast and car. Did the new movie deliver? Did it live up to the hype?

Sadly, I would have to say no. Now, don't get me wrong! Knight Rider was pretty entertaining and the special effects were somewhat cool. However, the story was predictable and lacked some depth. I was not expecting "The Bourne Identity" but still.

I think that the 30 min of car chases throughout could have been replaced with cooler stunts. I was looking forward to seeing the classic KITT "Turbo Boost" or the car seat ejection. Jeez, was it too much to ask to get at least one "Turbo Boost"?

The acting was OK. I honestly think they did as much as they could with some of the weak lines that they had.

KNIGHT RIDER - Deanna Russo as Sarah Graiman, Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer

Verdict? Well, I still think that Knight Rider should get a series out of this. Done right, there is an opportunity to really make this show a true cult phenomenon once again. Just give the fans what they want: Good solid action, decent dialogue, and compelling stories.

Come on, Who's with Me? Should NBC make Knight Rider into a show?

I completely agree. I've been seeing so much talk about the acting being sub par in this TV movie... but hearing the dialog the actors had to blurt out, it's amazing I had any interest in character development at all. In fact, I have to kinda hand it to Deanna Russo and Justin Bruening for making the script seem somewhat palpable. Editing didn't help them either.

Either way, the show needs some fixing, but it has LOTS of potential for a series.

KNIGHT RIDER WITH OUT THE 82 TRANS AM IS LIKE STAR WARS WITH OUT A JEDI MASTER

BUT THE SHOW WAS NOT THAT BAD IT JUST NEEDS SOME HELP!!!

The new Knight Rider sucked from the start because of the car they used. When you look at the car you don't think advanced technology, its just not sleek enough. Also since a mustang was used in the recent transformers movie it was unimpressive, to see K.I.T.T as one.. What I dislikedabout this show was the fact that they changed K.I.T.T's scanner....now thats one thing that shouldn't have been changed at all! I still think the 06 Corvette or Mitsubishi 3000 GT would have been a much better choice, but what do I know?.....I'm just a dedicated fan of the original series!

I was kinda disapointed of the new knight rider because of tha fact that they change the original kitt from trans am to a mustang it should be a 08 ZR1 Corvette they should stick to a GM product line or a Chevy line but not a Ford Mustang. ; also they should have not change the voice of the original Kitt because now it felt like i am hearing KITT like a Gay kind off person too soft spoken not like the original very manly like a soldier and a friend...

Hope they will change the voice into the original KITT..........
Plus they need to put back the Turbo Boost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was no turbo boost but after they loose those guys in the Ford Edge. KITT and that chick haul a&& to go pick up Mike. That looked cool. Turbo boost can wait till another episode if they have one.

Funniest line was from KITT when the chick was talking about her relationship with her dad. She said "It sucks" KITT said "It does....suck"

    Hilarious

    Good show!

mustang in transformers? that was the concept construct for the 2009 camaro coming out in a few months. camaro/trans am/firebird = f body. too much to ask they couldve used that? even the 2002 trans am - the last year they built them - is a much better body and more believable that in febuary 2008 KITT is already built into this car, rather than a 2008 car
