Doctor Who & Torchwood

I have been meaning to write about two of my favorite TV shows, DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD ever since I finished watching season 3 of Doctor Who.

I started watching Doctor Who, after a few of our readers convinced me to give it a chance, since I was such a big fan of Torchwood. And I am glad I did because I became so addicted to Doctor Who.

After watching the season 3 finale, I can honestly say that it was one of the best finale I have ever seen. I was on the edge of my seat the whole last three episodes of the season, which formed the fantastic finale. And for Life on Mars fans, John Simm (who played Sam Tyler on Life On Mars) has a big part in all three episodes and his performance was exquisite.

The best part is that the finale actually revealed a big information about Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood, which makes me watch the show in a totally new light and I love it. If you are a Torchwood fan, I absolutely recommend you watch Doctor Who and trust me, it’ll give you a different outlook and understanding of Torchwood and of its main character, Captain Jack Harkness.

I don’t want to reveal too much, but let’s just say that my jaw dropped when I heard the revelation.

Point is, Doctor Who and Torchwood are wonderful shows and I cannot wait to see Doctor Who’s new season. As for Torchwood, I am currently catching up on the second season, which I am loving.

Finally, I would like to say I big thanks to the people who convinced me to watch Doctor Who, I love it!

Sandie, did you watch series one yet? if not, watch it because Captain Jack was in the last five episodes. You will enjoy the introduction of this character in Doctor Who series one.

    Hey cpj,

Oh yeah, I watched all three series and loved them all! And yes, I loved seeing Captain Jack and learning more about his past. It’s a definite must if you love Torchwood.

They are both great shows, I can’t get enough of them :-)

Sandie, ah good. I am glad that you watch all three series. I love Torchwood, too since I became aware of Captain Jack in the first DW series. :D

Here’s the better news–Dr Who has 26 previous seasons to delve into.

I’d recommend starting with the 4th Doctor’s run as a good point to jump in.

    Michael,

I’m working on a guide to getting into the original run of the series, for people who are fans for the new series .

It’s going to become a regular feature here, starting at the end of the month. Keep an eye out for it, and feel free to add your viewpoint to what I say.
