Alex O'Loughlin stays at CBS

Alex O'Loughlin

Here is a news for all the MOONLIGHT fans out there, Alex O'Loughlin has signed a talent holding deal with CBS under which he will star in a new series for the network that will be developed by Mark Gordon (Grey's Anatomy, Army Wives, Criminal Minds).

Ok, so it might not be Moonlight, but at least it means that we will get to see Alex O'Loughlin once more on TV. And with the show produced by Mark Gordon I think we can expect something good.

I NEED to have Alex back on my tv ASAP! I hope he gets a show that is worthy of his talents. He would do so well in an action type of show........he likes to do his own stunts, he rides a motorcycle, he has cool tats and has the acting chops to create a character we can all buy into. Give him a show that lets him stretch him self.....I hope he doesn't get shoe-horned into a crime procedural show....he's got way too much to offer for that! Whatever type of show he gets......his legions of fans will follow him gladly!

Yes! Alex O'Loughling back on my television!...Thats what I want to hear! I'm with Caro up above... The man would be fantastic in some sort of action / adventure show...hey with maybe a touch of weekly romance thrown in for good measure!

I can't wait to see Alex back on TV! Hopefully with co-creator and producing credits, he will be allowed to develop a show that is worthy of his fantastic acting ability! Please CBS, no ho-hum crime procedural!

I'm with Debbie... I listened to an interview that O'Loughlin did on Jerico Kids site... he indicated that he was currently working with a head writer on developing and producing a new series.... so yeah CBS - no crime procedural... give us something new... something new... maybe something with Action and Adventure -

I agree that Alex needs a show that showcases his talents. He would definitely be great in an action/adventure type of show. And, by all means, with romance sprinkled in it for measure. He can do both like very few actors can. Happy to have him back!

I love Moonlight and want it to continue as is not another show. I have waited all summer for the show to start up and not to be disappointed in the news of the show being something else is sad. If i am incorrect please let me know cause thats what i thought i had read.

Marie, I afraid you are correct. At the very very VERY last minute, CBS decided to NOT renew Moonlight. The actors & the fans were devistated. Joel Silver tried to get another network to pick-up Moonlight but to no avail. But Alex was offered a one year contract with CBS to create, produce & star in a tv show. He's been paired up with Simon MIrren & another well know name, to create a show & he's pitching it now to the network. We're all hoping we will get Alex back on our tv sets ASAP!

Yup Marie... CBS choose not to pick up Moonlight for a 2nd season. Sad for all the fans...more sad for the wonderful actors that gave us such rich characters. But on the up side - CBS did offer Alex O'Loughlin a chance to develop a new drama and be it's producer and STAR... so jump on our bandwangon and join us in wishing Alex every good thing that he deserves. We all are waiting on pins and needles for news of what the new show will be!

I can’t wait to see Alex back on TV either. I hate to see a good talent being forced to sit out for one year.

The article sounded like Alex will be involved in the spinoff of Criminal Minds. Incidentally, the CM executive producer Ed Bereno is also working on a remake of Hawaii 5-0. Could this be one of the pilots that CBS offered to Alex?

So happy about Alex getting to do a show but wish it was his own show! How long do we have to wait?!? We miss him and want him back full time, every week. I have even wanted him on a soap (God forbid) so I could watch him everyday! But he's better than soaps and needs a show to show off his talents and good looks. Come on CBS, stop throwing us crumbs and give us the whole loaf!!
