GOSSIP GIRL “The Serena Also Rises” but Blair goes down (Season 2 Episode 5)

“The Serena Also Rises” was a pretty crazy episode of GOSSIP GIRL if you ask me. I have to say I am left feeling a little depressed. Everything sort of came crashing down tonight.
The easiest way for me to share all my feelings is through a list, so here we go:
- What is wrong with Blair, she is becoming a terrible person. I was totally siding with Serena on that one. She’s better off without Blair.
- I cannot believe Blair tried to ruin her mom’s show, just to get even with Jenny and Serena. Can you say spoiled brat.
- Jenny is out of control. Isn’t she like 15, I don’t think she can just drop out of school, because she feels like it.
- Rufus needs to step up his parenting skills, seriously. How can he let Jenny get away with this?!
- Poor, Chuck. I felt bad for him tonight. He actually thought Dan was a friend to him only to get disappointed once more.
- I really liked Serena tonight. She was trying to stay on Blair’s good side even though Blair was acting like such a biotch. Good for you Serena, for standing up to Blair.
- Doesn’t it feel like Dan might be the only decent being left in the show?
- As for Lilly, I guess she’s finding out what kind of man she really married: A creepy one.
- Oh and just as a side note, was anybody curious as to how Serena fit into Jenny’s dress? Isn’t Jenny the tiniest thing around?
I sure hope next week’s episode leaves us on a happier note. If these people can’t be happy, then who can?
What did you guys think? Were you as depressed as I was by tonight’s episode of “Gossip Girl”?

I thought it was good because though I do like Blair, I was getting a bit tired of her constantly trying to outshine Serena. Plus, Blair was being such a beep! I totally loved Chuck in this episode but I felt really sorry for him at the end. I mean he thought he was getting a friend! I just really hate Dan though, I mean how could he do that to Chuck? Its SO mean! I figure Jenny should totally go ahead with her plan to become a fashion designer, I mean its obvious that’s what she wants to do! And if it doesn’t work out, she could just repeat high school! I can’t wait for next week! But I’m getting really freaked out by Bart, I mean stalker much? And to his own wife? He should really just trust Lily and not go behind her back to find out about her past, and mean thats just so mistrusting of him. I don’t Lilly should have let him get away with it!
I really don’t agree with your opinion about Serena and Blair. I mean I understand it but I also understand the way Blair is reacting. I mean Serena did sleep with her boyfriend, Serena is always the prettier one etc. Serena can’t help that (except for the first thing) but I do get why Blair wanted to keep her position as ”Queen B”. She can’t help it she’s jealous. I feel sorry for Blair, because I think no-one really understands her. If you read the books you see that Blair haves an eating disorder. (I don’t think that comes out that much in the show).
And Serena doesn’t have to give her ‘’spotlight” to Blair, but she can take Blair and her situation into account.
As for Bart Bass: I really think he’s just trying to protect his family, but isn’t that subtle. He didn’t deal subtle with the whole Chuck thing either. BUT I think he should’ve told Lily.
And I think it’s good for Jenny to chase her dreams, but it’s so stupid to give up your school for that. Eleanor and Rufus should help her to combine the fashion and her school.
Anddd; The dress wasn’t from Jenny as in her clothing what she weares. Jenny MADE the dress. If you make a dress you make it in the standard model sizes. So appearantly Serena has that size.
Hi Sofie,
You know I think everybody will feel differently about Blair, so I’m happy to hear that some people will sorry for Blair.
But I do have to mention the dress. I do know that Jenny made the dress, but she also planned on wearing it at the party, that’s why she brought it at the show. She even said it before the show started. So I think my point about Serena being able to fit in it still stands.
I’m sorry but I really like Serena this season. I was worried at first because I caught up with it late and heard some of the feedback before I actually watched the show. It made me think they were going to do the cliche thing and turn Serena the bad girl struggling to be good back into the bad girl so good at being bad. When I actually watched it though I was.. pleasantly surprised to say the least.
She is still Serena, only now she’s pissed off and no longer taking anyone’s crap. Dan was a jerk, and Blair has been playing the woe is me card for so long and nearly tanked her own mother’s fashion show with her ridiculous and petty vendettas. Now Serena is finally beginning to see through all the bullshit, starting to see her own self worth and demand that the people who are closest to her see it too. Finally she’s not afraid to shine, and i say… more power to ya girl.
