Pushing Daisies Cancelled?

Update: It is confirmed. According to the LA Times Blog, Pushing Daisies is cancelled.

Is Pushing Daisies Canceled? Maybe. According to the National Ledger, Kristin Chenoweth thinks that there is a risk that Pushing Daisies won't be picked up. Here is what she had to say:

"It looks like we could possibly not be getting picked up. We have not gotten our order for the back nine [episodes] yet. We finish Nov. 12, and if we don't get any more news, then that means we're done," she explains. "We just don't know what's going on. It's the not knowing that is driving everybody crazy. We're still doing our show and keeping positive, but I think deep down people just want to know."

Basically, it is not looking good when one of the stars of the show is not being really positive about the outcome. I think Pushing Daisies is one of those rare smart shows that deserve to be given a chance, even if it has to be on a cable network.

What do you think of Pushing Daisies being canceled?

Stay tuned!

    NO...

J'ai commencer à regarder la série il y a quelques semaines, et je suis agréablement surprise. Si elle n'as pas son public aux US c'est vraiment dommage. Mais de temps en temps il faut prendre des risques. I luv Pushing Daisies, in France we love that tv show.

Thanx to continue to make us dreamin'

One of the best shows on TV right now - but, then, those frequently get canceled! They should court Showtime to pick it up.

Seriously, the best show on TV... Art and poetry on primetime network television. Guess I should have known it was too good to be true.

BTW, this is ABCs fault, not Pushing Daisies. The should have marketed the hell out of it after all the Emmy recognition. They didn't. Eff them.

Finally a show where the story line doesn't circle bed hopping and is a comedy too! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PPL! Don't cancel a show that has a real story line.

It's the best show in a long time. It can't, i hope it doesn't. Me and my bf watch it all the time, and we get so excited to solve the mysteries. I really hope they reconsider and decide to keep it on, atleast until the end of the season. :(

Boo Hoo!! I have never been so hooked on an ongoing story line before. I will miss it for sure. I too hope it gets picked up by a cable network if ABC cancels it.

One of the most original story lines ever. I LOVE this show. My husband and I watch it every week. They cannot cancel it! They need to promote it more. It is such an awesome show..addicting.

From what i've read from several blogs, it is quite obvious that those who actually understand Pushing Daisies will all agree that it's one of the smartest and most refreshing shows nowadays. And it's both annoying and devastating that ABC can't see that. They're choosing ratings and $$ over actual quality. Is it because it's not filled with sex, money, sex, mama drama, sex...??

Even though Pushing Daisies has now been officially dropped :( Maybe there is a a chance that it could be picked up on a cable network like showtime...I think it would do great...It so sad that such a great show is being cancelled

Write Sci Fi, USA Network, and TBS to see if any of them will pick it up. I can see USA possibly picking it up. Not sure about Sci Fi, but it would be a good fit. I don't believe the executives see the real problem here. They need to change the way THEY do things because they are relying on the old formula of a successful show. They should follow Sci Fi and the CW's lead in that they put products in the storyline. Personally, I don't have a problem with that and if that helps with sales, so be it. The buttom line is they are not being creative and we are losing because of it. I don't like what they are doing as a company, so I will continue watching the programs I currently watch but I have vowed not to begin watching a new program. NBC has the same problem: they cancelled My Own Worst Enemy and kept Night Rider. What a joke Night Rider is. It's like Baywatch with a car that can talk. My husband and I watched it several times and laughed so hard about the stupidity of the writing, etc. It was clear their target audience was juvenile males - not such a smart group at that age. How humiliating.

Omg! I think I am going to cry! I love this show so much! The cast is amazing! I swear they better at least explain all the mysteries and everything going on with Ned's family before canceling! Now I won't be able to see Kristin Chenoweth on tv every week and I think that fact it what makes me the most upset D: Please let them not cancel it... even though it seems almost certain that they already did...

This is ridiculous that they're canceling this show. Finally a show comes along this is watchable and of course they have to get rid of it. Hopefully it will catch on somewhere else and they will market it the right way.
