TV Actor of the Day: ALEXANDER SKARSGARD

ALEXANDER SKARSGARD
TV Show: TRUE BLOOD which airs Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
His Character: Eric Northman, a 1000 year old Viking vampire, and owner of "Fangtasia."
Why we like him: Alexander Skarsgård was able to make us intrigued and sort of infatuated with Eric in True Blood by only appearing in a few episodes. He gives the character of Eric a quiet confidence that only a few actors are able to pull off. In addition, his work on Generation Kill was incredible. Now if that's not reason enough to like him, I don't know what is.
Biography:
Alexander studied Political Science and did his Military service in the Marines and intended to study at an school of architecture in Stockholm. In 1997 Alexander enrolled at Marymount Theatre School in New York City to pursue his passion in acting.
Alexander has signed with the agency Endeavor in Los Angeles and New York and with Markham & Froggatt, Britains most acclaimed agency, to represent him in Europe. This union has proved quite fruitful as he has some big international movies like Zoolander.
Alexanders family are parents, his father Stellan Skarsgard who is also an actor(Pirates of the Caribbean, Mamma Mia), and mother is My Skarsgard.

I feel so sorry for Alexander Skarsgard because his great portrayal of Eric, the big, broad-shouldered, Viking vampire on "True Blood," has brought him career recognition AND a sleuth of attention from slightly nutty American house fraus. They blog, chat, IM and just in general look to have abandoned their famlies and jobs to eat, sleep and breathe him. His most mundane and uninteresting movements are Facebooked and Tweeted about, to the point of pukedom. Every little thing the TV Eric character does or does not do is dissected and compared to what his character would do in the "books." Enough already! Mr. Skarsgard seems so shy, open and truly amazed that folks are interested in him. I think it's his European upbringing. Humble in the face of turmoil. But with this mounting storm of smitten fans, he will cease to be. I predict that by the time season 3 begins he'll be on lock down. His private life won't be his. While filming his part in the remake of "Straw Dogs" on location, I am sure a group of fans gather everyday for a possible glimpse of his toussled, blonde head. I wish him luck for from now on he'll need a bunch of Vikings to keep the peace around him. Poor guy.
P. S. I recall a chat where Anna Paquin was the guest. The unruly chat room occupants kept screaming how much they loved her to the point of rudeness. I logged off. The screen just scrolled and scrolled, wasting time, because people just could not live without getting THEIR admiration in. OY! If AS ever gives one, the internet would explode.
