It is official! ELI STONE is cancelled.
According to the LA Times Blog, the excutive producers of Eli Stone, Marc Guggenheim and David Petrarca, told the cast and crew that the show was officially canceled by ABC.
The show will officially get to finish the 13-episode that were initially ordered. Here is the story:
The executive producers of ABC’s “Eli Stone” had the sad task Thursday afternoon of informing the cast and crew that the show will not go on.
Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and David Petrarca gathered actors and crew members to let them know that they had been notified by ABC that the show will not continue. Production will end when it completes the network’s 13-episode order, according to a source who attended the meeting.
The drama, which stars Jonny Lee Miller, joins the ranks of “My Own Worst Enemy,” which NBC canceled last week. The networks are in the process of finalizing their midseason lineups after a very difficult fall.
An ABC spokesperson said the network could not confirm if the meeting between producers and the show’s cast and crew had taken place or what producers had stated.
What do you think of Eli Stone getting cancelled?

I think the show was not really prepared to be renewed for a second season anyhow. They seemed to have played the story out as a 1 season mini-series, and this year they were trying to find their footing and not quite succeeding. It’s a good show overall, but I will not be too sad to see it end.
Good riddance. The show was pitiful and only served to annoy me with its commercials during LOST.
Well I am really sad! I look forward to this show every week. There aren’t many feel good shows left on TV and this was one for me. CRAZY!
I believe that ABC is making a mistake. Eli Stone was a breath of hope and held up with Intrigity. With the type of TV shows available on the Basic Networks, this one was quite refreshing and I looked forward to watching it weekly. There aren’t to many shows that have a postive view which this one has. In today’s world, we need that now. I would like ABC to consider keeping the show on air.
Get rid of the Reality Shows and keep Eli Stone
One of the Best Shows on Air.. give it a chance and keep the storyline going..
I guess even LOST drones should be allowed to speak their minds- talk about a show that’s jumped the shark…. But getting to Eli Stone, I JUST got into this show a few weeks ago, and it’s been must-see-tv for me. I’m very depressed. Dang… And “My Own Worst Enemy”, too? lol… My 2 favorite shows with one axe.
Eli Stones is one of the best shows on TV right now. It has a message and it is also entertaining. It does a lot without going the easy way of sex or dirty content. People appreciate being treated as a smart audience so please SAVE ELI STONE!
How sad. I think Eli was a good show. The first season was way better than the second though. It sort of got lost I think.
Also, Pushing Daisies is out too. But then, I also liked Dead Like Me which also got an early axe in the scheme of things.
Eli’s first season, things happened and there was interesting movement. We had the GG bridge fall, we had interesting visions of the future, and I really wanted to know what happened next.
In the second season everything slowed down. It is almost as though the writers got afraid to move forward with the story. The guy predicted the GG bridge breaking and people seemed to start believing him, but then in the second season it was almost as if no one in the world acknowledged it.
Is the concept of something new and fresh that difficult for people to grasp? Eli Stone is a great show. BIg mistake. I think those who enjoy Eli Stone should petition ABC to keep it on. How about getting rid of reality shows instead (any one of the dozens) Most people didn’t get hooked into LOST right away and look at it now. Ironically for me Lost is losing it’s flavor and Eli Stone has captured my interest. I wish there was a way to change the networks mind:(
I am very sad to see Eli Stone cancelled. I agree with the other comments, a tv show hope and integrity is a rarity now a days. I too believe Eli Stone was not prepared to have a second season and sadly lost its way, but I was hoping ABC would give it a chance to refocus itself into what season one promised. I never miss an episode and will greatly miss it on Tuesdays.
I really enjoy watching Eli Stone. It is one of few shows that I can sit and watch with my children. I wish that ABC would reconsider cancelling the show. It never fails whenever I start to really getting into a sitcom it gets cancelled.
I am very disappointed the show is being cancel. It’s a great show. This is one of the very few shows that a family can watch together and i think it was GREAT that it incorporated God into the whole show. Showing that God is truly everywhere…
I think ABC should reconsider! I love this show and so does my husband (51) and son(28)! I think it is a show that everyone can watch and it shows there can still be some good in this world. I am so sick of reality shows and sitcoms that show the worst we have to offer as humans I could throw up!
Please leave this show on!
shame on abc for cancelling eli and putting much inferior shows instead.
ABC PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please keep this show on the air! I recently started watching it and purchased season 1 on itunes. It is terrific! It is truly one of the only shows that is intellectually stimulating and makes you feel good too. Enough of reality TV…please reconsider taking it off the air-or maybe another network can pick it up!
it is unthinkable that abc would cancel eli stone. this is the best show in years to come along. shame on abc for getting us invested such a great show and then cancel it. may direct tv 101 network would pick it up as they did friday night lights.
what the hell. There aren’t many shows that i actually watch every since the take over of reality tv on our airwaves. This show was excellent and both my kids and i watched it religiously every week. Get a clue people…. do we really need another season of american idol and survivor?
This is the one show that i look foward to watching. It’s funny and clever. Like a few people said it is refreshing and it incorporates God. I don’t understand why ABC would cancle this great show.
