What Did You Think of NCIS “Dagger”?
This week, I am taking over for Eric with this NCIS review.
Tonight, we got the conclusion of Agent Lee’s “betrayal.” I gotta say, that NCIS surprises me every week. I only really got into the show last season and ever since I’ve been loving it. I really understand the appeal and tonight was a great example of that.
Where do I start, first there is the weekly case and in this episode, it was all about finding out the truth about Agent Lee. Turns out she was telling them the truth the whole time, expect that it was really her sister that was kidnapped and not her daughter. I do have to say though that it seemed to me that Lee was a little too cool about the whole situation, especially when Tony and Ziva came back empty handed towards the beginning.
I also loved the resolution of the case with Ted Bankston turning out to be the brains behind the operations all along. I was a little suspicious that he was involved but I didn’t think he was THE guy.
It’s really too bad that Lee had to die. I guess it might have been to keep the dynamic of the original team, but did the writers really have to kill her? How about having her leave NCIS?
But my favorite scene of the night had to be the one between Abby and Director Vance, when he came down to Abby’s lab by himself for the first time. The writers just know how to please us. Nobody does those witty scenes better than NCIS.
So what do you guys say? Do you think Lee’s death was necessary? What about Gibbs’ finger, do you think that it’s going to affect him from now on?

My 2 cents come in a little late, but when I add them to the pot we still get a grand total of 4 cents.

Undeniably awesome episode. Part of me did want Lee to be guilty, however, as I don’t see her killing 2 men to save her daughter’s life, ESPECIALLY when Gibbs, worker of magic, was mere feet away from her for months. I mean, who would wait more than 4 MONTHS to rescue their daughter, instead of going to your boss, who’s one of THE best detectives, and telling him what’s going on? Meh.
OTHER than that, the episode worked out perfectly, in my eyes. Now, she DID kill two innocent people. Even if it’s to save a life, you don’t just walk free after that. She would have been sentenced to Jail for a number of years greater than the number of seasons left in the show. So the character who we all loved for a long time, who then turned out to be a bad guy, and later to be a good guy doing bad deeds for a good cause, would leave the show a bad person. She killed two people. That’s baaaaaaaad.
The way they did it, however, let her go out not only a hero, but also having paid, at least to some degree, for her crimes.
Okay, earlier I said there were no other flaws that I saw… but I guess I can name one. even with a shard of glass in his hand and his eyes fuzzier than a woolly mammoth, Gibbs is a good enough shooter to have at least TRIED not to kill her. I mean, he shot her in the chest what…4 times? And he even seemed to be aiming right at her chest… So what if he had, say, shot her in the stomach…. ONCE! GASP! Then, when they both fall limp you cuff one and rush the other to the hospital, where she later dies amongst friends. Stomach wounds are cool like that. Yeah…
Anyways, This episode got a 9.0 out of 10 from me. It was great.
