SUPERNATURAL "After School Special" Review (Season 4 Episode 13)

Jared Padalecki as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean in SUPERNATURAL

Ok, what is up with SUPERNATURAL? While I enjoyed "After School Special," I once again am left wondering where in the world Castiel is. It's as if the first part of the season never happened and that's kind of upsetting.

And while this episode was a good Supernatural episode, I just wish they would continue the storyline that they started with at the beginning of the season. Even worse, I have a feeling we won't be getting any Castiel next week either.

I do have to say that Dean's red shorts didn't disappoint though. It still makes me laugh, even after seeing the scene a few times.

The only thing that I didn't think was as great as I had hoped for was the "back to the past" scenes in which we saw Dean and Sam in school. I don't know about you, but Dean felt like a douche to me at the end of the episode, and I did not like him at all, which is kind of a problem since he is my favorite of the two brothers.

Overall, a good Supernatural episode, but compared to the beginning of the season, a little disappointing.

I will say this though, until Castiel comes back, I will review Supernatural's upcoming episodes without comparing them to the beginning of the season anymore. I think it'll make the episodes more enjoyable for me and the reviews more enjoyable for you.

But now it's your turn, did you enjoy seeing young Sam and Dean, or was it disappointing for you too?

Stay tuned!

i think you may have missed the point of the flashbacks a little. deans my favorite too but i saw it as not that he was a douche but he was a teenager trying to deal with the crazy life hes been put in that includes a little brother hes always trying to stay strong for and protect. even grown up dean is more of a tough, stiff upper lip kinda guy. i wouldnt say he wears his heart on his sleeve but he buries it pretty deep and i think there are only a few people that can or have been able to truly reach it. however think about a 17 year old dealing with that crazy life vs a more mature grown man...i understand how a 17 year old with his personality tendencies and upbringing and situation may inadvertently revert to douchiness as a way to just survive. iits like remember how he said he hated that school and sam said it wasnt so bad? i think it was because there were two different people in the episode that not only recognized but challenged the person underneath the surface exterior that everyone else sees. for sam it was the teacher who questioned his personal choices and what he really wanted from life but for dean it was that first girl who pretty much outed him in front of everyone as coming off hard but really being a scared sad little boy (or something like that). now i think everyone can relate to that vulnerable inner person and nobody would want to be stripped of the secure outer persona like that in public but no one more so than dean who works harder than anyone to keep that vulnerability under wraps...by being a douche. its kinda cliche i guess. anyway...dont why i felt the need to spend so much time writing this...im gonna get back to my paper...thats due in 5 hours.
