Alex O'Loughlin to Guest Star on CRIMINAL MINDS

All the Moonlight fans know that I had to write about this one. According to Michael Ausiello, Alex O'Loughlin (aka Mick St John) will guest star in CBS' Criminal Minds.

Apparently, the episode, which is scheduled to air in April, will focus on a case from the point-of-view of the serial killer played by Alex O'Loughlin. That won't be too far away from his portrayal of a killer on Feed (very disturbing movie by the way).

Even though I am a fan of Criminal Minds, I sometimes find it hard to watch because of the subject matter, but you know I will definitely tune in for the Alex O'Loughlin episode.

So what do you Moonlight fans say? Are you excited to see Alex O'Loughlin back on TV?

Stay tuned!

If he's wanting to continue being typecast as a villain, sure, why not?

Moonlight wasn't all about Alex/Mick St John. It was about everyone who was in it. I wish people wouldn't focus on just one actor in the show. The other people who supported the show are just as worthy of support and recognition.

Is anyone drooling about seeing Jason Dohring, Sophia Myles and/or Shannyn Sossamon in something new? I'm not seeing the love.

No one is putting down any other actors that we loved on ML; Jason and Shannyn have also moved on to new shows. But THIS is not about them.

It is not about ML either. ML is over for all intents and purposes; a movie being the only possible future, if anything is at all.

This is about Alex now. He did a fabulous job bringing Mick to life and deserves his chance to be recognized in other work. Fans need to please stop bringing ML in every time we talk about Alex's future. Or say that all the key actors from ML need to be brought up when Alex is brought up.

Alex stands on his own and IMO will do an outstanding job in any kind of role he takes. Can't wait to see his abilities in this kind of role; hopefully he will have his own show next season.

I love and miss Moonlight and all the cast members. But I do love and miss Alex who performed splendidly Mick St John in Moonlight, jack Flange in Oyster Farmer, Michael Carter in Feed, and other fabulous role.
I am so happy that Alex will be soon on my TV screen. I love Criminal Minds and I believe Alex will bring an another dimension to this episode

I can't speak for fans of Moonlight, but fans of Alex O'Loughlin are definitely excited to see Alex back on TV! It can't happen soon enough. I think we'd all rather see him star in his own new show, but for some reason or another, that's not happening just yet. Maybe CBS is using the Criminal Minds episode to test Alex's popularity before they'll give him his own show. Scary thought! Not that I doubt that Alex can carry his own series, but I hope that CBS's decision does not depend solely on how the CM ep goes. Alex deserves better than that. He's been waiting long enough, the fans have been waiting long enough, so let's get the ball rolling already.

I don't doubt that Alex will give an excellent performance once again as a serial killer and April can't arrive soon enough for me.

I can't wait to have Alex back on TV, even if it is just for an episode, while we wait for his new show, he will shine, I am sure he will play a serial killer brilliantly, like he has done with all of his other roles.
He is a fantastic actor who deserves recognition for his work!

I think he'll do a fabulous job as a serial killer and I'm very excited to see this episode.

To Jasmina I'd just like to say that no doubt a whole pile of Moonlight fans will express their delight and excitement over the other actors from Moonlight when something is actually announced about their new projects. Why would you expect people to even mention Jason, Sophia and Shannyn in a blog about Alex? This isn't about Moonlight at all.

I loved Alex O'Loughlin playing Mick St. John in Moonlight. Even though he called himself a monster, he was bound and determined to overcome that obstacle and do some good in his life. He played a kind and gentle role as a vampire who was a monster only to those who deserved it.

I am still holding on to that image of Alex as Mick, which goes against his character being a serial killer. I am, however, looking forward to seeing the episode of Criminal Minds to see how Alex pulls it off. I have no doubt that Alex will do a tremendous job of getting "into the character."

I am excited for Alex and am looking forward to seeing him on network TV again. This epsisode of CM is going to be from the POV of the serial killer, and that just makes the role even more noteworthy for Alex.

I don't watch this type of procedural show at all, but Alex is such a talented and versatile actor that I am making an exception. If any other actor had been announced for the part, I wouldn't tune in.

If Alex has the ability to bring new fans to a show, that just makes him more valuable to a network.

Am hoping that he gets his own series again soon and that he is the lead again. He has earned it and deserves a leading role.

Thanks for posting this article. : )

Alex O'Loughlin is a brilliant talent and I look forward to anything that he does. I am excited about his role on Criminal Minds. I discovered Alex on Moonlight and now I have all of his work on DVD - the man can do no wrong on film. If you haven't already, buy FEED, Oyster Farmer, Mary Bryant and the rest of his work and experience the range this actor has. It has been far too long since Alex was on TV - I can hardly wait to see him on CM, and as much as I have wanted Moonlight back, I am anxious to see Alex as the lead in his own show again, no matter what it is. An actor with talent like his should have his own show and do movies on the side, lead only, of course.

I can't wait until April and to finally see Alex on TV again. I don't watch Criminal Minds but will definitely be there for Alex O'Loughlin. Alex is absolutely brilliant and will be able to show a whole new audience just how very talented he is. I have every movie/tv show he has ever done and will most likely buy this season of CM just for this one episode. A lot of us miss Moonlight and always will but that shouldn't stop you from tuning in to witness the awesome range and talent Alex possesses. I promise you, he's worth it...

alex o'loughlin is one of those rare actors who can do no wrong with his talents. i've seen some of his past works and i say that he is the paul newman of the small screen. i will forever have "MOONLIGHT" WITHDRAWLS FOREVER. cbs/nina tassler did screw the show and the fans over by cancelling the show that helped them win a diffcult spot on friday nights and "moonlight" help cbs also win novmember sweeps. his range of talents(acting chops, music, writing, etc, etc, etc) can and will take him a very long if does not get caught up the fake hollywood thing(s). i don't watch criminal minds but i will tune in to see his work of art. it's his career and decision to stay with cbs (i really hate that since i don't watch that network anymore),so i hope that they don't screw this young actor and deprieve him of his talents being showcased. and then again, maybe they will (most likely), that way we FANS can enjoy his work on another network or the movies or both. donna gilliam/donnag/dokagi

I DOKAGI/DONNAG WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY "MOONLIGHT" ALSO WAS ONE OF THOSE RARE SHOWS WERE THE CASTING WAS JUST PERFECT. THE SERIES HAD THE POTENTIAL OF LASTING 3-5 SEASONS. AS THE ACTORS START TO AGE AT LEAST 5 YEARS WOULD HAVE BEEN A FAIR ASSUMPTION. IT WAS A NEW SHOW AND CBS DIDN'T GIVE IT A CHANCE WITH ALL THAT WRITER STRIKE AND THE BEHINDE THE SCENCES DRAMA. IT'S REALLY A SHAME THAT THE SHOW COULD NOT HAVE CONTINUED AND THE RATING WOULD HAVE FOR SURE GREW MORE AND MORE EACH WEEK WITH THE WRITING INPROVING LIKE IT DID. IT DID START OFF A LITTLE OFF BUT IT GOT ITS STRIVE AND IT WAS AWESOME. CRIMINAL MINDS IS PROBABLY A REALLY GOOD SHOW AND I HAVE SEEN SOME OF THE ACTORS WORK ON OTHER PAST SHOWS THAT I ENJOYED WATCHING . OH, BY THE WAY. ALEX O'LOUGHLIN FANS THANKS CBS/NINA TASSLER (SORT OF) FOR HIS PRESENCE GRACING THEIR SMALL SCREEN. FINALLY, AND THE TEASE CONTINUES. DONNA GILLIAM/DONNAG/DOKAGI

I am truly happy for Alex that he gets a part on Criminal Minds and I hope he has many more parts; until at last, someone over there realizes what a gift Alex is. Any show he is in is a winner.
I was one who swore I would never watch CBS again. Then I realized that if I deserted my Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, and Numb3rs, I would hurt only myself and the great actors, writers, and staff on the excellent CBS shows.
CBS made a major mistake not renewing Moonlight. But after I saw True Blood I understood the fact that with all its sex & nudity CBS must have thought our sweet Moonlight with its innocent and tender love affair could not complete. With no second season to prove itself we will never know.
Anyway, “You Go, Alex!” Criminal Minds has many great actors and you will shine right along with them.
I’m sure you will give us the best, yummy, evil serial killer that ever existed… I sure would like to be the one to catch you and cuff you.

I've never watched Criminal Minds, but you can bet I'll be tuning in in April. I was delighted when Jason and Sophia announced new projects. Now it's Alex's turn. Go get 'em, tiger!

Alex is an excellent actor. He transmits emotions and gets into the skin of the personages as no other. Do see him on April 29. Go Alex!!

Able to see a little promo clip for the episode of "criminal thinking" involving Alex O'Loughlin. It just amazes Vincent. Striking transformation from modest to starring ill murderer. Nothing similar to the role of Michael "Feed". Amazingly talented actor. Finally something CBS ceased to behave like a dog lying in the manger and gave way to Alex.

Alex's fans are SOOOO ready for him to come back on the TV where he belongs! WE already know he's a wonderful actor........now everybody else is going to find out. Alex disappears when he takes on the personna of Vincent.....no Mick St John there! Can't wait for April 29th...and keeping fingers crossed for the fall pick up of his pilot Three Rivers!
