Alex O'Loughlin - Criminal Minds

Well, I can now not only tell you that the episode, "The Big Wheel," will air on April 29, but I can offer you two pictures that give you a first look at Alex O'Loughlin in character.

Who's excited?

Alex O'Loughlin - Criminal Minds

While I am thrilled that Alex has a steady income with CBS, I will never watch that network again. I see all these people on here who are saying they will watch CBS to see Alex again. It just proves that what cbs said when they ripped Moonlight off the air (for STILL unanswered reasons) was because the "fan mail" was "actor centric". I guess it was. How sad. cbs can put all the actors they want on their tired shows but unless it's Moonlight, I will NOT be watching.

  2. SoN2Alex(Deana) Mar 12, 2009 | at 5:18 PM Reply

Well I will definitely be watching...I Love and Adore Alex O'Loughlin and I will be right there to support him and to be totally WOW'd once again by his incredible talent. I too miss Moonlight but my loyalty lies with Alex. By the way I love the pictures, Alex is completely ADORABLE in them and of course SEXIER then EVER!!!

  3. Christy Mar 12, 2009 | at 5:35 PM Reply

WOW!! He looks so weedy and nerdy. I love it!! Cannot wait to see precious Alex in this episode.

Moonlight will live on forever in my heart and soul, but I have to support those amazing actors, Alex, Sophia, Jason, Shannyn, Jordan, Brian, etc. because they were all the heart and soul of Moonlight. :)

  4. RedNightBird Mar 12, 2009 | at 5:35 PM Reply

Well...if this doesn't show the calibre of his acting I do not know what will. He clearly shows the full body language of an "unsub" after portraying a perpetually cool vampire for 16 episodes.

Vincent/Alex.....please let me hold your eye glasses...maybe you can find a phone booth and change into something SUPER.

  5. Dreamer Mar 12, 2009 | at 5:44 PM Reply

    Really looking forward to this!!

Is the man not just the bee's knees? He's going to have an amazing career and he'll be taking a lot of fans along with him for the thrill ride. There's NOTHING that would keep me away from watching this!

  6. alavenia Mar 12, 2009 | at 5:44 PM Reply

I can hardly wait for April 29, Alex is an amazing actor he will deliver an unforgettable performance, he looks great, I love it!

Thanks for the sneek peek! I'm counting the days 'til April 29th! Knock 'em dead, Alex! I and many others support you 100%!

Whoa! Check out that body language! This had to be such a stretch for him and I know he'll rock it! I cannot wait for him to be back on my screen!

Thanks so much for the preview!

Alex has totally transformed in these picture. The vibe I get from these pictures at first glance is the normal guy. However if you look closer it is the creepy neighbor down the the street. Look at the clasp hands, the bent knees, the facial expression. I cannot wait for this episode of Criminal Minds to air.

Thanks for posting this info. I enjoyed the pics and interviews you posted when Moonlight aired, and am glad to see you are staying in touch with Alex.

Congrats to Alex for being cast on an upcoming episode of CM. It is exciting to see Alex bring a new character to life. He has a wide range of characters on his resume already, and is showing that he has real talent. He doesn't come across as the same in every show/film, every portrayal in unique.

Alex also has the ability to bring a large number of fans to his TV shows and films. I haven't watched CM in the past, but wouldn't miss this episode for anything.

I hope his talent is valued, and that he has many leading roles in his future. He has developed a very loyal fan base from his past work, and we are looking forward to seeing him on CM, and his next projects as well.

He has also taken the time from his busy schedule to send many of us personal messages on MySpace, and I can speak for many when I say, it is a treat to get a note from Alex.

It really is a joy to be one of his fans : )

Moonlight will always have a special place in my heart but I'll love anything Alex is in and I'll always remain a loyal fan ..Yes, I am an Alexoholic and proud of it.

Pea coats, twill pants, rubber soled shoes, nerd glasses and parted hair never looked better. This man is a genius! I love him to pieces!! He is an actor's actor and you are looking at the top of the heap. Go gettum' Alex. We are rootin' for you all the way!!
Sign me Actor-centric and proud of it!!

  14. lynnrxgal Mar 12, 2009 | at 10:32 PM Reply

Honestly, I would not have recognized Alex in these snaps... looking closely, knowing that it is him, OK, I believe it. Guess that "seals the deal" that Mr. O'Loughlin can crawl inside a character like few others. I hope that the CM fans will appreciate his genius. I KNOW that the ML fans will be beyond rational thoughts.

Alex, your fans are here and counting the minutes until your guest spot. Knock 'em dead, baby!

  15. Mandy Mar 12, 2009 | at 10:41 PM Reply

Well said Maria Moonlight! If a few Moonlight fans are actually going to punish Alex for a network cancelling THEIR show, then who needs them? Certainly not Alex who will find many, many more fans over the years. Who are you to judge people who value a flesh and blood man (and his talent) over a TV show?

And for what it's worth Moonlight Lover 75, CBS did give a reason for why it cancelled the show and if you were in touch with reality you'd know that there were things that happened behind the scenes that contributed to the show being cancelled, none of which are Alex's fault.

All the fans loved Moonlight, but it's gone now, and as sad as that was it's just how the business works. I'd rather be actor-centric than just plain bitter.

  16. Linda Mar 13, 2009 | at 12:07 AM Reply

I love the look. A nerd at his nerdiest best. With a young boy playing
Alex's character is a child in the show, we are obviously going to get
some insight as to what made him what he became.

Alex is an amazing actor and he's going to shine in this role.

I will always love and support Alex in whatever he does. As to the fans
who only want Moonlight, they are behaving like spoiled children whose
toy has been taken away. Sorry people, the factory has burned down
and is not going to be rebuilt.

  17. francis Mar 13, 2009 | at 12:16 AM Reply

I can't wait to see this. Alex is amazing, he gets into character like few else. I wouldn't have recognized him if I hadn't known it was him. His body language is convincing.
I have a soft spot for Moonlight, but there's no need to bash people or networks after almost a year. If you don't watch Alex, it's your loss, not his. I guess he will have lots more fans after this episode, and wish him good luck in everything he does.

  18. MichaelC2B Mar 13, 2009 | at 7:24 AM Reply

I am so excited about this role for Alex! A tidal wave couldn't keep me from watching this show. I have all of Alex's work on DVD - movies and TV - and he is a brilliant talent. Nobody can change so completely in every way to portray a new character like Alex can. I can tell that this part is going to be awesome for him - Alex O'Loughlin is on his way to becoming a huge star, and he will always appreciate his fans who were there with him through it all. (BTW - he looks gorgeous in those pictures!!!)

  19. Riela Mar 13, 2009 | at 10:37 AM Reply

I definitely agree with all of you who are going to support Alex in this role. (Hi Maria, I'm a proud Alexoholic too, and your opinion is right on the money)

No show has ever affected me the way Moonlight did and I'll always treasure that. I'm thankful to all involved (that includes CBS) because without Moonlight I may never have been introduced to Alex's incredible talent.

I've never even watched Criminal Minds but nothing will keep me from watching Alex in action and supporting him in everything he does.

Thank you so much for the first pictures of Alex in his new role. He is an amazing actor and will shine in this CM episode.
Loving and supporting Alex in his new adventures is what a real Moonlight fan does.
I carry the "Alex-centric" label with pride

First, thank you so much for posting these pictures of Alex. Second, the pictures alone prove what a wonderful actor he is, from the intense look in his eyes to the hand wringing to the hunched shoulders. The total opposite of Mick St. John (well, except for the intense look in his eyes which he always has in spades). I'm very much looking forward to seeing Alex in this Criminal Minds episode. April 29 can't come too soon for me. Thanks again!

Now that I saw the photos of Vincent, I can't wait to see Alex on the Criminal Minds episode. I do believe that his performing will mesmerize me. The more I watch these photos, the more I admire Alex for his abilities to melt into his character. He really is unique and unforgettable

  23. Barbara Mar 13, 2009 | at 1:18 PM Reply

Once again, I am left speechless. The man knows his craft. I have never watched CM, but April 29th, I will surely tune in and record it to my DVR. I l ove that man.

  24. mizzoH Mar 13, 2009 | at 2:23 PM Reply

These photos clearly prove how fantastic an artist Alex truly is. Vincent is the polar opposite of the very suave Mick St. John: forgettable, nerdy and awkward. The kind of guy you wouldn't glance at twice and would always underestimate. That Alex can convey these traits in just two pictures underlines what we all know: he really is a remarkable jewel with many facets. His fans are what he himself calls "the best". I hope he'll grace our screens for many years to come, on whatever network or for whichever studio that is lucky to have him. April 29th can't come around soon enough for me. And after that, we'll get to see him in London and hopefully in TR. Lotsa love to you too Alex - go get 'em tiger!

I watch CM every week. It has been rumored the creepiest show on TV. After seeing photos of AOL's new look I think he will fit right in. I am a Moonlight fan. But to paraphase a quote, "Being a vampire isn't all Alex is."

Oh my he does look like a serial killer! So nerdy looking but still so sexaaay!!
Alex can do anything and I would watch! Can hardly wait to see him on CM. I didn't usually watch this show but started when I found out Alex would be on just to see what the show was geared toward. It's not really my kind of show but I'll watch it to see Alex. I'd watch alex watch paint dry. To me he's like a work of Art waiting to be looked at :) .

Ohhhhhh, of course I will be watching Alex give life to this crazy nerd! I'm sure it will be an experience. I loved Moonlight and still love it, but I have also loved everything this man has done as an actor. It can only get better and better. Thanks SO much for the great pictures!

I am a fan of Criminal Minds, but a bigger fan of Alex. I, too, was upset when Moonlight went off the air and still am, however, that sometimes happens. I will watch whatever he is in and he is very, very talented. I hope we get to see him on a series again so we get to see him more often. I am sure that the April 29th episode of Criminal Minds will be awesome. We should all watch no matter what to show our loyalty to Alex and create more interest in him.

I think that everyone has a right to there own opinion, but I for one cannot nor will not blackball an actor that I like just because they are on CBS or any other station.I don't really like what CBS did either.

Alex deserves better,It is also not fair to him as a man or actor,to boycott a possible new series he is staring in just because it's on CBS,that will only hurt Alex's career,I believe that Alex will be very good on the small screen but will even be better and bigger than life on the big screen, where in my opinion he belongs.

Maybe it does look like some people are giving ,but so what, as long as it help's Alex.(JUST SAYIN) The more people that watch him in the Criminal Minds episode or new series Three Rivers the better chance he has to make it big and possibly not have to work for CBS anymore.

If Alex wants to return to work for the network that canned him and his delicious series, Moonlight, who am I to say that I will not support him. If it's okay with him, then it's okay with me. Looking forward to seeing him in this role. We all know it will be unforgettable just like Mick St. John. Congrats, Alex!

I, as well as many of you on here, was devastated when Moonlight was cancelled. At the time, because of some very damaging mis-information, I too said I would never again watch CBS. But time away from a situation allows you to see clearer.

I had never watched CM before the announcement that Alex would be guest starring. I can definitely see what all the fuss is about. And, having seen Alex's performance in FEED, I have absolutely NO DOUBT of his abilitiy to play a convincing serial killer. For anyone who has acted, even in local productions, it is almost a master class in acting when you watch Alex perform.

I will always be greatful to Joel Silver, Warner Bros., CBS, Alex and the rest of the EXTREMELY talented cast and crew for bringing Moonlight into my life. I was changed in ways I am still discovering by the PHENOMENAL experience called Moonlight.

I really don't understand what difference it makes whether we watch a show for the actors or because we like the story lines. Either way, we're watching, aren't we? I love Alex and I also loved the Moonlight story lines and was extremely sad and angry when it was cancelled. Even though I wish he would have gone to another network, I will watch any show that Alex is in no matter what network it happens to be on. He is an awesome actor and will be his fan forever.

I love you Alex and I can't wait to see you on CM!!!

  43. Cat Mar 22, 2009 | at 5:22 PM Reply

Oh CBS, Schme-be-ess. All the networks are out of touch with what people want. It's all about money and nothing else. I mean, really -- Jay Leno at 10 p.m. five nights a week?? What a snore. But it's cheap TV and that's all they're looking for. The days of well-crafted episodic network dramas is coming to a close. Before too many more seasons go by it'll all be on cable because that's where the money to produce that kind of programming will be. As far as Alex goes, he's a smart guy. If he chose to resign with CBS after Moonlight's cancellation, he must have had a good reason and that's a good enough reason for me. I loved Moonlight and I'm sad it's gone, but I'll follow his career regardless of where it leads.

Besides, I'm still pissed at CBS over Beauty and the Beast and Jericho. But if I still held that grudge I'd never have seen Moonlight in the first place. Sometimes, you just gotta let it go.....
