EXPEDITION AFRICA on History Channel Review

Tonight, the History channel will premiere a new eight-part television event, EXPEDITION AFRICA: STANLEY & LIVINGSTONE. The show follows a group of explorers who will travel 970 miles through African terrain using only a compass and basic maps. The goal: relive Stanley's perilous journey to find Dr. David Livingstone.
Personally, Expedition Africa is not my cup of tea. Watching people walking through bushes and swamps, just didn't not capture my interest at all. Maybe it's because I don't like trekking, or camping or anything like that, it's hard for me to find their expedition interesting. Plus, in general I am not a big reality show fan.
I can't say that the explorers were that interesting to follow either. I don't think I really related to any of them or that any really stood out to me as someone I would like to watch week after week.
However, I did hear that a lot of people did enjoy the show, so maybe if the subject matter sounds interesting to you, you might want to give it a shot.
Overall, I don't think the format is all that original, it's a typical reality show, with a different main story. But to be perfectly objective, the subject matter is not really something that holds any interest for me, so that might have been one of the main reason that I didn't find the show as entertaining as others did.
Expedition Africa premieres tonight, Sunday May 31 at 10pm on the History channel. You can watch the promo below.

I can't agree more " Expedition Africa " is - was a GIGANTIC bore ! The only differance is that I truly love history ,the outdoors - nature - camping and Exploration..... So it's that much more disappointing that all we got for our hour invested is four not very interesting characters - who Call themselves "
"Modern Day Explorers " yet start off their " Expedition " with no water - NO WATER !!! - I understand that you have to build some sort of drama in a show like this where you make believe your really out there and alone - but walking around bickering about directions does'nt do it ! Anyone think for a minute that Mark Burnets Survivor Helocoptor would'nt swoop down the second one of our hero's Cries Uncle ? Suburu you've been taken to the cleaners !
HAHAHAAH ok i thought this show was going to a awesome show when i saw the previews but the more i watch it the more i think Benedict is a little girl im seriously that guy is the biggest pansy i have ever seen on any discovery tlc or history channel.. and all his crying about leaving people behind bwahahaha here is a napkin for those tears. im seriously i spent six years in the marines and when you are out int middle of no where getting to your destination is the most important thing. not babying everyone and Mireya started out as a likable character but the more i watch her the more i tihnk she should be at home cooking dinner or something. the crap about them staying back with the WATER and not going up the mountain its obvious never of them have ever been on anything like this before. if i was Pasquale with those two always wanting to drag behind i would just say ok do what you want were not keeping an eye anymore u want to stay up fine if not fine do what you want. let have one night just one night where they dont reach there goal or Campsite and they would think twice about acting like children. again getting to your destiantion if the most important goal. if you are really in a situation like that. and Pasquale wasnt the only one who didnt want to slow down the workers did two... Im So happy so freaking happy that Benedict gets hurt next week and wont be on the rest of the show. Well either he isnt or im done watching it... This claims to be a Expert but from wat i have seen he is nothing more than a grown up babys momma who is still stuck on the Tet...
