HAWTHORNE Press Day

A while back, I attended a press day for TNT's new show HAWTHORNE. Now that you have seen what the show is all about, I thought you might be curious as to what's coming up.

Here are a few things we learned during the interview with Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Vartan:

- Michael Vartan got involved with the show after he read the script and loved it. Then he also found out that Jada Pinkett Smith was involved and that was it for him. He also mentioned that he found the fact that she was an executive producer very comforting.

- Unfortunately, Jada Pinkett Smith will not write any of the episodes for HawthoRNE. She actually promised herself she wouldn't because she's already doing too many things on the show.

- We will learn more of the backstory between Christina and her mother in law, including what happened with her husband and why there is tension between the two.

- There is going to be an interesting dynamic between Christina and her daughter (and I think we already saw a bit of that in the episodes that already aired).

- The relationship between Christina and Wakefield will shape up and transform.

- And if you're wondering whether Christina will find love again, well Jada Pinkett Smith's answer to that is, "she's going to have to find love."
The question is, could this new love be Wakefield? Jada Pinkett Smith teased us by saying:

"Will [Smith] has given his stamp of approval on Michael [Vartan], so it really can go anywhere" [laughs].
