LOST “Dr. Linus” Review

LOST Dr. Linus

Tonight’s LOST “Dr. Linus” was another confusing episode in the race to the series finale that is supposed to answer all (can you tell I’m getting a little frustrated?).

Let’s be honest here, was the episode good? Yes, absolutely. Is it an episode you would expect when there are only 10 left to answer the mystery that is Lost? Not really. Am I still a fan? Yes, to the end!!!

Now that I have gotten my frustration out, let’s talk about what I did love about the episode. It was so much fun to see what Ben would have become had he not stayed on the island, and turns out that he is a much better person than he ever was on the island. Even better, he is a mentor to Alex, who obviously was raised by Rousseau. And can I just say that even though I don’t understand what this parallel story is all about, I am loving every moment of it. It’s like rediscovering all the characters we have come to love, but in a totally new environment. What other show could do that?

But as a Lost fan, one of the most interesting things is of course what is happening on the island. Well, this episode didn’t really focus on evil Locke and his group, so we still don’t know what in the world is going on with that. What we do know is that Ben finally made the right decision to stay with the “good” people.

Other than that, I loved the scene between Richard and Jack, I mean that was some leap of faith, oh and yeah we finally found out how Richard got his immortality, from Jacob touching him. So my question is, does Jacob only need to touch you for you to become immortal, or does he have to want to make you immortal as he touches you or something like that to make it work? If it’s the first one, it almost makes me want to go back and find out who Jacob touched.

Oh and here’s another thing we found out. The candidates are candidates to replace Jacob, which I guess I sort of had figured out, so it wasn’t as big a shock. But the question remains, why wasn’t Kate on that list? And we still don’t know if Jin or Sun is the candidate.

And speaking of Jin, where in the world is he? The last time we saw him, he was with crazy Claire, but it seems like he never showed up to the temple, so what happened in between? It seems that Sun and him keep missing each other. Will they ever reunite?

Finally, the big episode cliffhanger is Widmore showing up in a submarine!!! Could this be a game changer and will it hurt Jacob’s plans even more than evil Locke could?

So here are my questions for you, do you think Jin or Sun is the candidate? And out of all the six remaining candidates, who would be your pick to replace Jacob? Share your thoughts in the comments.

I loved this episode because it now seems that Jack has finally realized how important he really is. All throughout season 5 and till this episode, Jack was pathetic not knowing who he was, doing what he never believed in blindly. Now he has come to light. Great to watch him as the hero again. JACK is BACK…

Another great Ben-centric episode, which has become the norm. Michael Emerson is simply brilliant. It’s amazing to see the progression of Ben, the lying, backstabbing bastard, become Ben who chooses humanity over power. Even Alex wasn’t too bad, and the relationship between her and Dr. Linus felt real.

I was waiting for Widmore to become more significant to the big picture, but with the addition of Jacob and Flocke, I wonder where he fits in.

Jin is the Kwong that the Islands wants. Why?
‘cos it seems all the candidates are male, or was I wrong?
Isn’t that precisely why Kate is not the candidate?

There last name is “KWON”… and Kate is a candidate… “Austen” is on the wheel people! she’s just not one of the main numbers… am i the only one paying attention here?!… And!… it’s not that Richard has been given the gift of immortality… he’s been given a purpose and he has not yet fulfilled his purpose… just like Jack can’t die… or Michael couldn’t die (he tried killing himself several times) until he blew up the freighter… that was his mission and he could not die until he completed it… similarly Richard cannot die until he fulfills his mission, consequently he cannot die even of old age… which would lead us to the theory that all of the losties that Jacob touched have been presented with a task that they must fulfill (Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Jin and Sun, Sayid, and Hurley were all touched by Jacob)

if jacob touch John Locke, why don’t he become an inmortal?, why can he died?

MIB could not personally kill the one’s who have been touched by Jacob but they can be killed by other people… MIB convinced Ben to kill both Locke and Jacob because he could not do it himself (it’s against the rules)… Even Richard said that he could not kill himself.. but if someone else lit the dynamite then he would die… but unfortunately for him the person who lit the dynamite (Jack) was also a person who could not kill themselves (because he was also touched)

Everyone doesn’t seem to know if KWON is Jin or Sun, why couldn’t it be their baby? Isn’t their baby the first baby conceived on the island in a long time? As for the sideways story, doesn’t anyone remember Jacob and MIB sitting on the beach. MIB says it always ends the same and Jacob says it only ends once, everything else is just progress. We are watching two different progressions that will end they same.

u missed something out, jacob touched ben.
miles told him that jacob’s last thought was “i hope i’m not wrong about him” all the way till the blade crossed through his heart.
when ilana wanted him to dig his own grave lock steps up and kinda prevent ilana to shoot him (locked musta noticed jacob grabbing ben), but still, he would have lived, so ben is now death-free like “inmortal-richy”.
the whole chapter is about ben’s good heart, his determination to stand for something, and to care about other people, he’s always been a good guy.

jacob also touched lock when he was thrown from the window, but i guess that magic touch didnt work aout that well for him.

jacob had something in mind for ben, he reffered to him as a friend when he told hugo “i was killed by an old friend”.

i googled this episode’s review because there’s no way they’re gonna give all the answers, theres no time, they simply gonna make some things right, the relevant stuff will be unveiled, but there’s a lot u’r never gonna figure out, and it’s gonna be an awesome ending, just because it will be a crappy one.
