SYFY PRESENTS "LEGEND OF THE SEEKER" MARATHON EVENT

Fans of Epic Adventure Series Can Relive Six Thrilling and Action-Packed Episodes

NEW YORK - October 27, 2009 - Syfy has partnered with Disney-ABC Domestic Television to present a special "Legend of the Seeker" marathon event on Thursday, November 5 from 6 pm - 12 AM, ET/PT. The marathon will give fans a chance to catch up and relive six favorite episodes from the first season of the epic fantasy series, and also serve to introduce the show to Syfy viewers who may not have experienced it. Combining elements of fantasy, adventure, magic, mystery and romance with state-of-the-art visual effects and a high level of action, the series is an adaptation of internationally best-selling author Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth book series.

The marathon begins with the series premiere, when Richard (Craig Horner, "Monarch Cove" and "Blue Water High") first discovers his destiny to stop the sinister tyrant Darken Rahl (Craig Parker, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers"). Richard partners up with the beautiful and mysterious Kahlan (Bridget Regan, "Sex and the City" and "The Best and the Brightest"), and a wise and powerful old wizard named Zedd (Bruce Spence, "Mad Max 2" and "The Matrix Revolutions"), who have both sworn to assist Richard in his mission. The six episodes featured in the marathon are "Prophecy," followed by "Destiny," "Denna," "Puppeteer," "Conversion" and "Fever."

Shot with the exotic and rugged New Zealand landscape as its backdrop, "Legend of the Seeker" is produced by ABC Studios and distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Ken Biller, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Ned Nalle and Josh Donen serve as executive producers. The second season of "Legend of the Seeker" will premiere the weekend of November 7th in national syndication.

LEGEND OF THE SEEKER Season 2 Photos, Poster and Sneak Peeks

Check out some new photos, the poster, and a couple of sneak peeks from Season 2 of LEGEND OF THE SEEKER which premieres with a two-hour event with the first episode on on November 7 and a second one on November 8, 2009 (check you local listing for time and channel).

In the first video, you get to see a scene from season 2 as well as a short preview of what's coming up. In the second video, we meet Mistress Cara, a Mord'Sith, who becomes an ally to the Seeker.

LEGEND OF THE SEEKER Season 1 DVD Review

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released LEGEND OF THE SEEKER The Complete First Season on DVD (you can buy it on Amazon). I got the chance to take a look at the DVD and so how about I let you know what you can expect from it.

Some of you might already know what a huge fan of the show I am, and so it was such a treat to be able to watch all 22 episodes all over again.

For those who don't know, Legend of the Seeker is based on Terry Goodkind's bestselling Sword of Truth novels (you can read the book review for the first novel Wizard's First Rule on Daemon's Books). The story follows Richard Cypher, an ordinary woodsman, who discovers he is the first true Seeker the world has known in a thousand years, destined to wield the powerful Sword of Truth and defeat the evil tyrant Darken Rahlan. Helped by a powerful Wizard, Zedd, and a confessor, Kahlan Amnell, we follow his journey to kill Darken Rahlan.

I personally haven't read the books the show is based on, so was really opened to anything. However, I do know that some people were really disappointed with the adaptation, so if you are a fan of the book, be aware that the show is not exactly the same. That said, I think it's absolutely worth a look.

Charisma Carpenter on LEGEND OF THE SEEKER

Check out the first picture of Charisma Carpenter on LEGEND OF THE SEEKER that E! Online got their hands on.

As you can guess from the costume, Charisma Carpenter plays a Mord-Sith, Triana, and she will appear on the season 2 premiere airing on November 7, 2009.

I am a huge fan of Legend of the Seeker and I just can't wait to see the new season. And now I'm curious to find out more about Charisma Carpenter's character.

Aimee Teegarden to Guest Star in LEGEND OF THE SEEKER

Here is a reason for Friday Night Lights fans to tune in to the great show, LEGEND OF THE SEEKER, when it returns this Fall, Aimee Teegarden (who plays Julie Taylor) is going to guest star in an episode.

According to Watch With Kristin, Aimee Teegarden will play one of the last Confessors, named Annabelle.

She will first appear in episode 4 of the new season of Legend of the Seeker which premieres on November 7.

Here are a few additional details about her part below (although there might be spoilers, so read at your own risk):

"...Annabelle has been locked in a tower her whole life and isn't fully aware of her power as a Confessor. When she escapes she "goes a little crazy and starts confessing everyone around her," Aimee said. Because there are so few Confessors remaining, Kahlan does her best to protect Annabelle from harm. Meanwhile, Annabelle wants to run away with a boy named Flynn, whom she has confessed. Kahlan and Richard need Flynn to help them find a key, so Kahlan tries to stop Annabelle from fleeing with him, but the real drama begins when Annabelle retaliates against Kahlan..."

LEGEND OF THE SEEKER Returns in November for Season 2

Great news for fans of LEGEND OF THE SEEKER, only a few more months to wait until the show returns for its second season.

Season 2 of Legend of the Seeker is scheduled to premiere on November 7, 2009. So get ready for an all new 22 episodes filled with the new adventures of Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), Kahlan (Bridget Regan), and Zed (Bruce Spence).

In this new season, the three of them will discover that defeating Darken Rahl was only the beginning as they have unleashed an even greater evil on the world.

I can't wait!
