Weekly Review: GOSSIP GIRL, UGLY BETTY, and GREY’S ANATOMY

GOSSIP GIRL - Blake Lively as Serena in “The Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate”

So I sort of have been slacking off with the reviews this week. The truth is I just haven’t had the time. That’s why I decided to do a quick weekly review of the shows I didn’t cover this week.

GOSSIP GIRL “The Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate”

This week was the last episode of Gossip Girl produced before the strike. Was it the best episode ever? No. Did it leave you wanting for more? Most definitely.
This episode made me like Serena so much more than I used to, I absolutely loved the last scene where she goes to stop Blair from leaving, I was so mad it ended like that, I want more.
As for Chuck, turns out he is going back to his mean old self and I am not sure I like him as much as I used to. Dammit, I was really enjoying the Chuck storylines, but if they’re going to make him mean again, then what do I have to be excited about? Alright, I’ll give Chuck another chance to step up, if he doesn’t I might have to move on…

Weekly Recap, sort of… MOONLIGHT, THE OFFICE, and more…

November 19, 2007

So today was a busy day and I didn’t get a chance to get my weekly recap in, so here it is now. It’s time to take a look at some TV shows that I didn’t get a chance to talk about on Thursday and Friday.

THE OFFICE - Steve Carell as Michael Scott and Paul Lieberstein as Toby in “The Deposition”

THE OFFICE “The Deposition” - This episode was to say the least bittersweet. And the fact that it wasn’t one of the best episodes we’ve ever seen didn’t help matters. I am so sad we’re not going to get more of The Office this week. It feels so unreal. I did want to mention one thing about the episode though, I love Tobey (Paul Lieberstein), he just breaks my heart when Michael (Steve Carell) is mean to him. He is one of my favorite characters and at least the one good thing about the last episode from The Office is that I got to see Tobey one last time. See you next year!

GREY’S ANATOMY “Forever Young” - So one of the problems I have with Grey’s Anatomy is that George and Izzie were head over heels for each other and then all of a sudden they don’t speak to each other anymore. It leads me to wonder how in love they really were, seriously! [Read more]

Smallville

SMALLVILLE “Wrath” - 8pm the CW
I am glad to say that I am up to date with Smallville. I watched the last two episodes this week-end and am happy I did. The one thing I would like to mention is that the episode from two weeks ago, “Action,” was one of my favorite this season. Why? Because it felt like a Smallville episode again which focused on Clark and him saving the day again. That’s why I love and watch Smallville. Unfortunately, it didn’t last since last week we got another Kara-focused episode. I’m still not sold on her. I will write more about this if tonight’s episode keeps with the Kara trend.

My Name Is Earl

MY NAME IS EARL “Randy in Charge (…Of Our Days and Our Nights)” - 8pm NBC
The appearance of Alyssa Milano in last week’s episode was really fun (you can see pictures of Alyssa Milano in My Name is Earl here). I just think she was really funny. This season of My Name Is Earl is so good. I’m trying to get my dad to watch it because he likes Jason Lee, but let’s just say that my dad is not a TV addict at all.

Ugly Betty

UGLY BETTY “A Nice Day For A Posh Wedding” - 8pm ABC
I loved last week’s episode of Ugly Betty so much with the whole “Wicked” musical intertwined within the story. The fact that I adore “Wicked” probably didn’t hurt either. It was such a well-done episode with Betty’s dilemma of being with Henry or not. I cannot wait to see the rest of that story pan out. Especially after that last scene of Betty going to Henry’s apartment.

The Office

THE OFFICE “Survivor Man” - 9pm NBC
People enjoy them while you still can because there is only 2 episodes of The Office left according to Jenna Fischer. The WGA strike has officially shut down The Office production. While I am sad that there soon won’t be any new episodes of The Office, I am sort of glad the viewers will start to see some of the effects of the strike. This might force them to react to what is going on.

Grey's Anatomy

GREY’S ANATOMY “Physical Attraction…Chemical Reaction” - 9pm ABC
Still love Grey’s Anatomy, but isn’t it funny how my favorite character isn’t Meredith Grey? I am an Izzie/George fan as you probably know by now. I also enjoy Alex’s stories and funny enough I am starting to really like Lexie. Tonight is a good night.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA “Bums: Making a Mess All Over The City” - 10pm FX
So I just realized I haven’t watched last week’s episode yet. It’s really sad when the way you find out you still have an episode left to watch is by having to write a post about the following episode… Which tells me my DVR is so full it’s not even funny.

Smallville

SMALLVILLE “Lara” - 8pm the CW
Tonight we get a guest appearance by Helen Slater (the original Supergirl) as Clark’s mother. I will have pictures later on. She looks amazing by the way. As I said, I am liking Smallville, but I just wish they would focus less on Kara and more on Clark. I don’t care about Kara that much to be honest, she’s just a secondary character to me.

My Name Is Earl

MY NAME IS EARL “Our Other Cops Is On! Parts 1 & 2″ - 8pm NBC
Another Cops episode, I loved the first one. I was a little worried about Earl being in prison and all, but they have managed to keep the show as good. And how sweet was Randy when he joined Earl in prison?

Ugly Betty

UGLY BETTY “Something Wicked This Way Comes” - 8pm ABC
Betty and Henry go to see the musical “Wicked” in tonight’s episode. All I can say is I love “Wicked,” I saw it earlier this year in New York and it was amazing. And now it’s in Ugly Betty, this episode is probably one I am the most excited about. Plus Henry and Betty on a date… yep definitely exciting!

The Office

THE OFFICE “Branch Wars” - 9pm NBC
Two things: 1) Karen is back! 2) Joss Whedon directed the episode. I am sort of glad Karen is back in The Office, since I was sad we didn’t get more on the Jim/Pam relationship, I am hoping her return might spice things up a bit. Oh and of course, Joss Whedon is another reason to tune in.

Grey's Anatomy

GREY’S ANATOMY “Kung Fu Fighting” - 9pm ABC
Last week was a pretty intense episode if I remember correctly. Sometimes episodes get fuzzy in my head. I’m just glad that Izzie and George finally had a sweet moment together. Let’s just hope it lasts.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA “The Gang Gets Whacked” - 10pm FX
And the gang gets into trouble once again. They are such a funny group of people, but so wrong at the same time. I really have to watch the first two seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Daemon's TV Thursdays TV Schedule Fall 2007

Daemon's Choice

Smallville

SMALLVILLE “Action” - 8pm the CW
Still a fan of Smallville. I just wish there was less focus on Kara and more focus on Clark and Lex and Lana. I mean we did spend six seasons caring about them, so I think it’s only fair to give us something to be excited about.

My Name Is Earl

MY NAME IS EARL “Frank’s Girl” - 8pm NBC
It’s time for Alyssa Milano to make her appearance in My Name Is Earl as Frank’s girl. I am so excited to see her back on TV. Read our previous post to see some pictures of Alissa Milano in My Name Is Earl.

Ugly Betty

UGLY BETTY “A League Of Their Own” - 8pm ABC
I cannot explain why I love Ugly Betty, but I do. All I know is that it puts me in a good mood and I enjoy the wacky storylines. Now if they could only bring back Dawson James Van Der Beek, I would love them that much more…

The Office

THE OFFICE “Local Ad” - 9pm NBC
No more of the one-hour The Office episodes that I have come to know and love, we are back to the 30 minutes original format. Still 30 minutes of The Office is better than no The Office at all.

Grey's Anatomy

GREY’S ANATOMY “Haunt You Every Day” - 9pm ABC
Halloween hits Seattle Grace. That’s going to be interesting. All I really want is for the whole George and Callie situation to get resolved, that would really make my day.

Scrubs

SCRUBS “My Own Worst Enemy” - 9:30pm NBC
Less The Office also means the return of Scrubs! I don’t actually follow Scrubs but have seen episodes here and there. It’s pretty funny. I’ll probably tune in once in a while to see how they decide to end it. Also don’t forget to post your questions about Scrubs on their blog. Remember, they promised to answer every single one of them.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA “Dennis Looks Like A Registered Sex Offerder” - 10pm FX
These guys kill me… what kind of title is this… and I thought they couldn’t get any more outrageous… Looking forward to that episode!
