Early Review: THE CLEANER “Pilot” Episode (S01E01)
July 14, 2008

A&E’s new original series, THE CLEANER, premieres tomorrow, July 15, at 10pm.
The story follows, William “The Cleaner” Banks (Benjmain Bratt) and his team, as they try to get people clean by any means necessary (really, any means).
When I first heard about The Cleaner I was intrigued. Then I saw a promo and I was really excited to check out the first episode. I finally sat down to watch the first episode, and although it didn’t live up to all my expectations, I think it is worth checking out.
To me the story could have spent a little more time making us care about the team. Unfortunately, I think
they tried to focus on too many different characters from the team, instead of focusing on more William and less on the people from his crew, at least for the first episode.
However, even though the episode wasn’t all that I wanted it to be, I totally got hooked because of what happens at the end of the episode. I just wasn’t expecting it at all and it just changed the tone of the show at least for the next few episodes and I am really looking forward to more.
Now on to the actors. I totally believe that Benjamin Bratt is William. He has the look and attitude that makes this guy believable. And I think that’s the most important thing, especially if we’re going to believe that the team respects and trusts him.
A&E’s THE CLEANER - Promo Video
July 13, 2008

THE CLEANER is A&E’s new original series starring Benjamin Bratt (“Law and Order,” Miss Congeniality), Amy Price-Francis (“Californication”), Grace Park (“Battlestar Galactica”), Kevin Michael Richardson (“Knights of Prosperity,” “Like Family”), Esteban Powell (Dazed and Confused, Powder), Brett DelBuono (Balls of Fury, “Kidnapped”) and Liliana Mumy (Cheaper by the Dozen, The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause).
The Cleaner is about an unconventional team who helps people get clean from their addictions by any means necessary. Benjamin Bratt stars as as William “The Cleaner” Banks, the leader of the team. The Cleaner is actually inspired by the true story of a real life “extreme interventionist.”
The Cleaner premiere on Tuesday, July 15, at 10pm on A&E.
I have already seen the first episode (my review is coming up, so keep an eye out) and I think the show has great potential to become a success. Plus the concept is really interesting. I’m really looking forward to seeing more.

Review: THE TWO COREYS - New Season Tonight on A&E
June 22, 2008
Tonight, June 22, THE TWO COREYS returns for its second season at 10pm on A&E.
I had heard of the first season and of course I know of the two Coreys, but I hadn’t actually followed it. I did however get the chance to watch the first two episodes of the new season, and you know what, I am totally hooked. Seriously, after I finished watching both episodes I was sort of left looking at my TV going “That’s it? I want to know what happens next.” I really didn’t think that I would even really like it that much, but turns out these two are messed up in a way that is really entertaining (I know it sounds really bad but it’s true). You even find yourself rooting for them to be friends again, and I found both of them likable, which is really important for me if I’m going to watch a reality show about a celebrity.
Point is, if you enjoy celebrity reality shows, or if you just want to see the two Coreys back on TV again, you should watch the new season, which starts tonight, June 22, at 10pm on A&E. And the best part is you don’t really need to know what happened in the first season because they sort of recap it (I love when they do that).
You can also play a game now with The Two Coreys here.

A&E Network launches a new original show: THE CLEANER
June 5, 2008

A&E Network just announced the launch of its new original drama series, THE CLEANER.
The Cleaner stars Benjamin Bratt (”Law and Order,” Miss Congeniality), Amy Price-Francis (”Californication”), Grace Park (”Battlestar Galactica”), Kevin Michael Richardson (”Knights of Prosperity,” “Like Family”), Esteban Powell (Dazed and Confused, Powder), Brett DelBuono (Balls of Fury, “Kidnapped”) and Liliana Mumy (Cheaper by the Dozen, The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause).
Inspired by the true story of a real life “extreme interventionist,” Bratt stars as William “The Cleaner” Banks who, after hitting rock-bottom from his own addictions after the birth of his daughter, strikes a tentative deal with God. In exchange for a second chance, he vows to kick his addictions and dedicate his life to helping others. Now, along with his unconventional team, he helps people get clean from their own addictions by any means necessary.
In the series opener, William tries to help Zach, a once-promising high school athlete who has fallen victim to meth addiction. William’s efforts reveal a family fractured in the wake of a father’s death, as well as an underground drug-fencing operation that he must crack. While he fights to save Zach, William finds himself helpless to do anything for his best friend, Mickey, a former addict whose own demons have become overwhelming.
Doesn’t it feel like all the cable channels are stepping up their games in terms of TV shows? And I am not the one who’s going to complain because there is never enough TV to watch during the Summer! Looking forward to seeing more of The Cleaner.
Early Review: A&E’s THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN
May 22, 2008

On May 26 and 27th, get ready for an amazing event on A&E, as they premiere their original 4-hour movie, THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN over two-nights.
I have seen the movie and it is a MUST-WATCH. Based on the book by Michael Crichton (and if you are a fan you are going to love it), The Andromeda Strain follows a group of scientists, the “Wildfire” team, as they try to find a cure for a disease they code-name Andromeda. The Andromeda originated from a U.S. military satellite that crashes in the small town of Piedmont, where it kills everyone in town, but two people. And so as they race against the clock, the “Wildfire” team will have to figure out what Andromeda is and how to kill it, before it spreads and kills everyone.
