If you don't already know by now, I am a huge fan of British shows, and pretty much every one of them airing on BBC America. And so it will come as no surprise that I loved their latest series, ASHES TO ASHES, which premieres tonight, March 7, at 9pm.
Ashes to Ashes is the sequel to the British Life on Mars, but this time instead of finding ourselves in the 70s with Sam Tyler, we find ourselves in 1981 with Alex Drake, a single mother and psychological profiler living in 2008 - before she finds herself back in 1981.
The good news? Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister) and his sidekicks, Ray Carling (Dean Andrews) and Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster), are back, but this time instead of Manchester, London is the center of it all.
Alex Drake is played by Keeley Hawes, whom you might recognize from MI-5 (aka Spooks in Britain). And since [...]
This is a post from Daemon's TV.

And since I really liked her in MI-5, I am also loving her in Ashes to Ashes.

The formula for the show is very similar to Life on Mars and fans of the latter might really enjoy Ashes to Ashes, especially with the likes of Gene Hunt still around.

However, I will admit that I like Life on Mars better than Ashes to Ashes and I really miss Sam Tyler, no one could ever replace John Simm's performance, but after watching four episodes, Ashes to Ashes is really coming into its own and I cannot wait to find out what's in store for Alex Drake. She is quite the woman that one.

Finally, there is one more thing I need to mention, in Ashes to Ashes, Alex Drake's connection to the "real world" seems to be through a clown...yeah it's kind of freaky if you ask me. I have not been a fan of clowns ever since I saw the movie "It" based on Stephen King's novel. So I gotta ask, why a clown?

Overall, Ashes to Ashes is a really good show that I think a lot of you might enjoy, so don't forget to tune in tonight, March 7, and watch Ashes to Ashes when it premieres on BBC America at 9pm.
