Episode Synopsis: Three weeks after their wedding, Gavin and Stacey return from honeymoon and travel to Gavin’s family home in England, where they will be living until they get their own place. Gwen and Bryn travel to Gavin’s hometown to see the newly-weds, with Nessa following close behind in a seven-ton truck full of Stacey’s belongings. Smithy arrives, clearly upset that Gavin didn’t call him during his honeymoon (or “vacation” as Smithy prefers to call it). The families decide to celebrate by going to Gavin’s local Italian restaurant where they discover Mick and Pamela’s friends, Dawn and Pete, having a meal with a Ghanaian man they hope to introduce to their “bedroom”. The evening goes well until Stacey discovers that Nessa hasn’t [...]
This is a post from Daemon's TV.

GAVIN & STACEY! There are just no words that explain how in love I am with this show. It is a MUST-SEE.
A big success in England, Gavin & Stacey is coming to BBC America premiering tonight, August 26, at 8:40pm.
On its surface, I could have never imagined how touched I would be by this sweet little british show. Gavin & Stacey tells the story of, you guessed it, Gavin and Stacey, two ordinary people who are obsessed with each other even though they have only spoken on the phone. They decide to meet in person and this is where the story starts.
Not only is Gavin & Stacey a beautiful love story, it's a great "realistic comedy" for lack of better words. Like we rarely see on TV, Gavin & Stacey is able to tell a love story without all the cutsie stuff around it. It just feels so real [...]

It just feels so real and I think that's what really touched me.

And, let's not forget Gavin and Stacey's friends, Nessa and Smithy. These two are quite the pair. I don't want to give too much away, but I can say that alcohol will have to be involved for these two to get along.

So far I have only seen the first episode, but it already blew me away. It just feels like a romantic comedy movie (but a short one, where you get to the point of things quite faster). But the best part is that it's only the beginning.

The cast of Gavin & Stacey includes Ruth Jones as Nessa, and James Corden as Smithy (who write the show), as well as Joanna Page as Stacey, Mathew Horne as Gavin, Alison Steadman as Pamela and Rob Brydon as Uncle Bryn. Â

Don't forget to watch Gavin & Stacey tonight at 8:40pm on BBC American, you won't regret it.

Final fun fact: NBC is currently in the process of creating the American version of Gavin & Stacey (like The Office). But right now, I am not confident that they will be able to translate the greatness that is Gavin & Stacey. Only time will tell.
