PRIMEVAL Volume Two (Series 3) DVD Review

I got a chance to take a look at the PRIMEVAL Volume Two DVD, which is now available to own (you can buy it on Amazon).
The DVD contains all 10 episodes from the third series of Primeval, as well as a few extras.
The third series of Primeval starts out as everyone is dealing with the aftermath of Stephen's death and Helen's betrayal. Cutter now only has two people left on his team, Abby & Connor, but it won't stay that way for long. Within the first episode, Cutter adds two new members to his team, Captain Becker, the new leader of the ARC's security forces, and Sarah Page, an Egyptologist. A little bit later in the season, we also meet another addition to the team, Danny Quinn, a maverick policeman.
Now I don't want to give to much away of what happens in series 3, but what I can say is that you are in for a treat. The season has some pretty great episodes and you won't believe some of the things that happen.

And for the good news of the day...
[Press Release - Released by BBC America]
New York, September 29, 2009 - A unique international collaboration has guaranteed the return of hit series Primeval to BBC AMERICA, and TV screens across the globe.
The groundbreaking deal between Impossible Pictures Limited (IPL), BBC Worldwide (BBCW) and ITV, will deliver 13 new episodes in 2011. It will also ensure that the spectacular special effects that have made Primeval such a huge success will continue throughout the new season.
Original co-production partners ITV, ProSieben and BBC Worldwide return to co-fund the new series, with BBC Worldwide becoming the majority funding partner. BBC AMERICA, takes on a full co-production credit for the first time and UKTV becomes a first-time investor.
Jonathan Drake, MD of Impossible Pictures Ltd says: “The dramatic changes in the business of broadcasting in the last 12 months have meant we have had to completely rethink how we put the funding together for a top-end series like Primeval. The fact that the series is so well established and loved both in the UK and overseas has meant that everyone has been willing to do their best to give us the backing we needed. With the continued enthusiasm of co-producers such as ProSieben and the fantastic support of the team at BBC Worldwide we have stitched together a ground-breaking clutch of deals that will guarantee Primeval’s ongoing success.”
PRIMEVAL Season 3 on BBC America Advanced Review

Season 3 of PRIMEVAL will finally premiere tomorrow, Saturday May 16 at 9pm on BBC America, and you don't want to miss it.
Primeval follows a team of scientist who investigate the appearances of temporal anomalies across Great Britain and try to send the prehistoric and futuristic creatures that come through it back.
I'll admit that I was behind on my watching of Primeval, but the announcement of the third season was the perfect excuse for me to catch up, and catch up I did. It only took one episode for me to be right back into it. Primeval is without a doubt one of the best series on television right now. It's smart and exciting, with each episode bringing the show to a new level. The cast is brilliant and each character brings something unique to the show.
And so it was with great excitement that I got a sneak peek at the first four new episodes of season 3. After the tragic way season 2 ended and the shocking reveal, I think it's clear that we're all left wondering where Cutter and his team are headed this new season.

PRIMEVAL Episode 1 Review
The Brits have done it again and created a new awesome TV show called PRIMEVAL.
Premiering Saturday, August 9, at 9pm on BBC America, the show follows a team consisting of zoologist, Nick Cutter and his research assistant Stephen Hart, zoologist Abby Maitland, and student palaeontologist Connor Temple, as they try to understand what brought a prehistoric predator Gorgonopsid into our world. Yep, that's right we're talking dinosaurs, but unlike in Jurassic Park where they are "contained" on an island, these dinosaurs roam free among us. And so Nick and his team along with Government officials James Lester and Claudia Brown, who try to keep this information secret from the public, will have to work together in order to "save the world" or at least their city.
PRIMEVAL Episode 1 Pictures
PRIMEVAL is an all new show coming from across the pond about a zoologist, Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall), who discovers that prehistoric creatures are living in the present day. With his newly assembled team, Nick will try to uncover the truth behind this new discovery, but the thing is it's not easy to send a huge dinosaur back from where it came from.
I don't know how they do it, but the Brits just come up with great shows, and Primeval is another one that you should check out. We will have a review coming up soon with more details about the first episode, but for now enjoy the pictures from the first episode below.
Don't forget to watch Primeval season one premiere on Saturday, August 9, at 9pm on BBC America.
