ROBIN HOOD Season 3 Review

Tuck (David Harewood) and Robin Hood (Jonas Armstrong)

Tonight, BBC America will premiere the third and last season of ROBIN HOOD. I got a chance to take a look at the first two episodes from the season, and while I still enjoyed the show, there were a few things that I missed from the first two seasons.

If you remember, last season ended with the tragic death of Marian and we sort of knew it would impact this season greatly.

The first episode opens as Robin and his band of outlaws return from the Holy Land. Robin announces that he doesn't want to be Robin Hood anymore and sends his gang away. His new "mission" now is taking revenge on Gisborne for killing Marian. But as you probably guessed, Robin doesn't stay alone for too long, because after all the show is called Robin Hood.

The episode also introduces a new character, Tuck, a traveling monk, who not only helps Robin regain his faith, but also becomes a new member of the gang. So far, I really enjoy him.

But Tuck is not the only new character this season. In episode two, we also meet Kate, a village girl, who through unfortunate circumstances becomes involved with the gang. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic between her and the gang evolves. I also wonder whose heart she will steal (because you know that's going to happen).

Overall, this new season starts out nice. However Marian's death has left too big of a hole to fill. Even the addition of Kate is not enough. Unfortunately, no one could ever replace Marian and the dynamic between her and Robin. It is very clear that this relationship gave something special to the show, and now that it's gone, Robin Hood has lost part of what made it such a great show.

On a positive note, I was really happy to see the rest of the gang back, including Much and Allan a Dale, who are my favorite characters. I think it's still going to be a fun season to watch and I'm curious to find out how it all ends.

So make sure to watch the season 3 premiere of Robin Hood when it premieres tonight, September 12, at 9pm on BBC America.

ROBIN HOOD "Ducking and Diving" (S02E05) - Preview Clip Video

Are you still loving this season of ROBIN HOOD? I know I am.

This Saturday, May 31, at 9pm we are getting a whole new episode, "Ducking and Diving," on BBC America.

Robin suspects that he has a spy in his camp, which he does. Unfortunately for me, I really liked Allan last season and I am still upset he betrayed the gang. Nothing good can come out of this if Robin finds out about him betraying them. This episode could be life changing.

And since Saturday is still a few days away, we are happy to give you a sneak peek at the new episode.

Synopsis: "Ducking and Diving" - A horrified Robin discovers that his plan to capture the Sheriff’s spy, Henry of Lewes, failed because of a traitor in his gang. Fearing for Marian’s safety in the castle, Robin needs to find out who is betraying him. His only clue is supplied by Marian - the spy sells his secrets to Gisbourne at the Trip to Jerusalem Inn. With two missions to complete Robin is relieved when Henry of Lewes arrives at the castle unconscious, his vital information about the King’s landing sites remaining a mystery. Robin infiltrates the castle to silence Henry and is helped by a wise-woman Matilda, who is tasked by the Sheriff to nurse Henry to health. Asking Robin to look after her heavily pregnant daughter, Matilda promises that she’ll silence Henry using special herbs. The Sheriff makes the connection with Robin and Matilda’s life is in danger. Robin returns to the forest with Matilda’s daughter, to a confused and hurt gang - they resent being suspected of treachery. Marian arrives at the camp on a horse, reporting that Matilda is about to be tried for witchcraft. Can Robin trust his gang to save the lives at stake and also silence Henry? There is a spy in his gang who needs catching before the day is out.

Robin Hood

We all know that I am a big fan of ROBIN HOOD and so I wanted to make sure to share a few pictures from tonight's new episode, "Child Hood."

In tonight's episode, Gisbourne has developed an indestructible new armor made of special Damascus steel. With it the Sheriff could easily defeat King Richard, but we know that Robin Hood and his men will not let this happen.

Don't forget to watch Robin Hood "Child Hood" tonight, May 10, at 9pm on BBC America.

Early Review: ROBIN HOOD "The Booby and the Beast" (S02E02)

Dexter Fletcher as Count Friedrich and Lucy Griffiths as Marian

Is it not fun to have ROBIN HOOD back? Tonight's second new episode, "The Booby and the Beast," is another fun one.

Robin tries to steal more treasure from the Sheriff's new Strong Room. But it turns out to be a harder challenge than initially anticipated.

Marian on her side finds herself sort of attracted to Prince Frederick of Hanheim, who was invited to the castle to play in the newly built casino (talk about anachronism, but it's really fun to watch).

All and all the episode achieves a great sort of split story between Robin and Co. trying to break into the castle and Marian and Prince Frederick setting up their own deceiving plan against the Sheriff.

And of course the Sheriff and Guy of Gisbourne are as evil as ever, and we love it!

Dexter Fletcher is great in the role of Prince Frederick of Hanheim, and he brings an additional layer of fun.

I repeat it, Robin Hood is a great show to watch for some really great entertainment, so don't forget to watch it tonight, May 3, at 9pm on BBC America.

I have seen the episode and found it very entertaining (I'll have a review up later today). I repeat it it's a great Saturday night show to watch. And with a casino in the episode you can't go wrong!

Interview: RICHARD ARMITAGE from ROBIN HOOD

Richard Armitage

Last week, Daemon's TV spoke with RICHARD ARMITAGE, who plays Guy of Gisbourne, about the return of ROBIN HOOD for its second season on BBC America.

Richard Armitage talked about the evolution of his character in season two and his interesting infatuation with Marian, his favorite episode of the season, his new role on Spooks (MI-5 in the US), and much more.

Don't forget to watch Robin Hood Saturdays at 9pm on BBC America.

And without further ado, enjoy the interview!

Daemon's TV: What is it like to play a villain in "Robin Hood," especially since it's such a well known story?

Richard Armitage: You know what, I was pretty nervous about playng a villain at the start, because people are not going to necesserally like this character, and I'm going to be booed and hissed on the streets. But it's just so much fun because the writers, I think they have a lot of fun planning all the bad things that these characters are going to get up to, and it's actually a lot of fun doing it. It's naughty and you get to sort of exercise all those elements that you can't really do as a person, because it's not civilized or polite or nice, so it's actually really enjoyable to do it. Early Review: ROBIN HOOD "Sisterhood" (S02E01)

Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood

ROBIN HOOD and his gang of Outlaws are back. Watch out Sheriff!

After a very exciting first season, Robin Hood is back for its second season starting tonight at 9pm on BBC America (it takes the time slot of Torchwood).

In the first episode back, some time has passed since Marian left Guy of Gisbourne at the altar, but his bad feelings towards her still linger on. Knighton Hall is burnt to the ground and Marian and her father are brought to the Sheriff and put under house arrest.

The Sheriff continues with his plans to overthrow King Richard and brings in his sister to help him.

These two also set up a trap for Robin Hood, which he finds hard to resist.

Allan-a-Dale also plays a major part in the episode, and his decisions will most likely lead to some interesting episodes for the rest of the season. I think it adds a new dimension to the series and I am curious to see it unfold.

Overall, I found this episode very exciting. It is a perfect season 2 opener and it sets the tone for the whole season.

There is lots of action and seemingly impossible to escape situations, but once again the villains will be defeated. And let's not forget humor and romance.

What I love about Robin Hood is that because it is a TV show, you get to see it every week. Plus it is such a great show to watch on Saturdays.

The actors are all really great and the villains are so fun to watch. Jonas Armstrong is a great Robin Hood. He brings lots of personality to a character that is very well known and still manages to make him appealing.

If you are a fan of Robin Hood, then you need to give the Robin Hood series a chance.

Don't forget to watch Robin Hood tonight, April 26, at 9pm on BBC America.
