FX's new original series, JUSTIFIED, is based on the character of 'Raylan Givens' who appears in several works by novelist Elmore Leonard. The series follows Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), who is forced by his Marshal Service superiors to return to his hometown in Kentucky after he shoots a thug in a Miami hotel. Now back in the place he never wanted to return to, Raylan will have to face his past and everything that comes with it.
The series also stars Nick Searcy, Erica Tazel, Jacob Pitts, Joelle Carter, and Natalie Zea.

In the first episode, Raylan has to deal with his childhood friend, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) who's become a right-wing nazi criminal. Now I won't tell you how it all ends but what I will tell you is that if you are a fan of FX shows like The Shield, you are going to love Justified. It has the same sort of gritty feel to it and a great leading man carrying the show (but I could be biased in saying that since I am a fan of Timothy Olyphant).

Justified is a very straightforward story, it is the typical return of the prodigal son to his hometown in which he finds out how people he left behind have turned out. The first episode showed a little bit of that, but I have a feeling the series is going to delve even deeper into Raylan's past, which I personally would love to find out more about.

Timothy Olyphant plays a great Raylan, he is a sort of anti-hero, who happens to be a US Marshal. He is cold blooded, very grounded, and it seems, afraid of nothing. Pretty much he is the guy you want around to defend you in delicate and dangerous situations.

As you can tell I really enjoyed the pilot of the show and I think it holds lots of potential for the series. It's not your typical cop drama because, even though Raylan is a US Marshal, he certainly doesn't act like one and that's what makes the show so good. He is like a masked hero with a badge (and, well, no mask).

So make sure you tune in tonight, March 16, for the premiere of Justified on FX at 10pm E/P.

DAMAGES "Don't Forget To Thank Mr. Zedeck" Season 3 Episode 6

FX's newest original comedy series, ARCHER, which was just renewed for a second season, will have a two-hour marathon airing on Thursday, February 25, from 10pm to 12 Midnight ET/PT on FX.

The four episodes that will air back-to-back are as follows:

10:00 PM – "Diversity Hire" – A new field agent makes a splash at ISIS, but Archer and Lana suspect there may be something all too perfect about their new diversity hire. Written by Adam Reed. Voiceovers directed by Adam Reed.

10:30 PM – "Honeypot" – Malory's career is threatened when a sensitive videotape falls into the hands of a rogue (and roguish) Cuban agent, so she calls on Archer's expertise in seduction to turn the tables on her blackmailer. Special guest voices include Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy, Hellboy) as "Ramon Limon" and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!) as "Charles." Written by Adam Reed & Tony Carbone. 11:30 PM – "Training Day" – Lana's residual lust for Archer prompts Malory to promote Cyril to field agent. Archer then trains his new competition as only he can, whilst Malory frets over her own past and her son's future. Written by Adam Reed. Voiceovers directed by Adam Reed.

Archer Synopsis: Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy set at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), a spy agency where espionage and global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. DAMAGES "Flight's at 11:08" Season 3 Episode 3

Check out the first teaser for FX's new original comedy series, LOUIE, which premieres Thursday, April 1st at 10PM ET/PT. FX has ordered 13 episodes of the series.

Louie is a comedy filtered through the observational humor of Louis C.K. and his daily life as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father helping to raise his two daughters in New York.

Louis C.K. had a documentary at Sundance this year and Eric got to see and really loved it, which I think bodes really well for this show. I am looking forward to the show, especially since that teaser is pretty funny. Check it out below. [Update: We'll have a new video soon]

NIP/TUCK "Sheila Carlton" (Season 7 Episode 4)

DAMAGES returns for an all new third season on Monday, January 25, at 10pm on FX.

This new season is inspired from the Bernard Madoff events. Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) gets appointed by the U.S. government to recover the billions of dollars lost to the largest ponzi scheme in Wall Street history. The guilty party is the powerful Tobin family, and more specifically the father, who was the mind behind the ponzi scheme. Now his family has to deal with the fallout from his mistakes. We thus meet his son, Joe Tobin (Campbell Scott), who was the one that turned his father in, and the mother, Marilyn Tobin (Lily Tomlin). Facing off with Patty, is the Tobin's family attorney, Leonard Winstone (Martin Short).

In case you're wondering, Tom Shayes is back and still by Patty's side, but this season he gets made partner by Patty for all his work and loyalty. It's true he is probably the most loyal person to her.

As for Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne), she didn't go back to work for Patty as expected, but is now adjusting to her new life and job in the DA's office.

I got a chance to watch the first two episodes and wow, they get right back into it. As much as season 2 was great, I think that season 3 looks like it's going to be another great contender. Plus I am loving the subject matter this season, especially since it is so relevant nowadays after the whole Madoff fiasco.

So many things happen in only two hours, that it's hard not to be hooked on the show once more. The same format used in season 2, is used again this season, where we go back and forth between the present and scenes of things happening in the future, which leave you on the edge of your seat.

The great cast is back with Glenn Close of course being as great as ever as Patty. It's like that role was made for her. But let's not forget Tate Donovan and Rose Byrne, who both hold their own against her, and make the show what it is. You might also have noticed what a great new cast we're getting this season with Martin Short, Campbell Scott, and Lily Tomlin. I can't wait to see more of them, although I'll admit that I am sad Timothy Olyphant is not back as Wes Krulik, I really liked that character.

As for the story, it once again looks like the writers brought it. In two episodes they already weave this net of mysteries that will be the arc for the season, that will guarantee you tune in each week.

On top of that, there is one big shocker in the premiere, which is the death of a major character (the identity of whom was actually spoiled by the actor, but I'd rather not say who to keep you surprised), which I did not see coming, but it's going to make for such a great season. Even better, we learn something about that character that once again I never saw coming, and that will impact the whole season. It's a pretty brilliant show, in case you hadn't noticed. I personally can't wait to see how the case unfolds and how all the other drama gets resolved.

If you have been a fan of Damages, you will not want to miss the premiere. So don't miss the premiere on January 25 at 10pm and get ready for a crazy ride.
