MTV GIVES FANS EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW OF THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON DURING "2009 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS"

New York, NY (September 2, 2009) –– MTV grants fans another exclusive preview of one of the most anticipated films and soundtracks of the year, The Twilight Saga: New Moon during the "2009 MTV Video Music Awards" on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT). After revealing the film's first trailer at the "2009 MTV Movie Awards," the network will once again treat viewers to an expanded trailer from Summit Entertainment's second installment from the widely popular Twilight series that opens in theaters November 20, 2009. The movie's cast has also been confirmed to appear including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Also during the show, MTV.com will exclusively unveil "Meet Me On the Equinox," the lead single off of the New Moon Soundtrack (available October 20, 2009) from VMA nominees Death Cab for Cutie.

As previously announced, comedian Russell Brand will host the show, and Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Green Day, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Muse are confirmed to perform. Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Miranda Cosgrove are confirmed presenters. Wale and the legendary go go band UCB are the official VMAs house band and will collaborate with artists including The All-American Rejects, Pitbull and 3OH!3. The "2009 MTV Video Music Awards" will air live on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT) and on Sunday, September 20 at 5pm ET with Spanish subtitles on MTV Tr3́s.

MTV News and V CAST from Verizon Wireless are giving customers an All Access video pass to the 2009 VMAs, with an unprecedented inside look at the making of the biggest music event of the year. Verizon Wireless customers can sign up for VMA text alerts by texting VIP to 8911 to receive VMA news insider reports delivered directly to their Verizon Wireless phones.

Viewers can vote for general VMA categories, including "Best New Artist," by visiting vma.mtv.com. Verizon Wireless subscribers also can vote by texting VMA to 97979. Voting begins Tuesday, August 4. "Best New Artist" voting continues through the show, live on September 13.

MTV, Pepsi and Rock Band™ have created a new category at this year's VMAs, "Best Performance in a Pepsi Rock Band Video" that allows fans, for the first time, to win their very own Moonman. This summer, contestants entered their original Rock Band™ music videos, which fans voted on to select the ultimate winner. The winning band will travel to the "2009 MTV Video Music Awards," walk the red carpet, receive their Moonman, and be featured in an MTV produced promotional spot airing the night of the show.

Exclusive Preview of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON During 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

MTV, Music powerhouse Sean "Diddy" Combs and Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Burnett team up to search for the next big name in music with "P. Diddy's StarMaker." The new ten-episode one-hour series will bring together the most respected names in music and feature industry power players hand-selected by Diddy to teach, test, coach, and ultimately create the world's next global music superstar. Pete Wentz, Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland will make special appearances throughout the series to help Diddy and his team of experts judge the talent. 2009 MTV Movie Awards Video Promo

Since High School Musical 3 is not coming out until October 24, I am introducing you to the next best thing, MTV's THE AMERICAN MALL, premiering tomorrow, Monday August 11, at 9pm on MTV.

The American Mall, from the executive producers of High School Musical, tells the story of Ally, a wannabe singer/songwriter, who works in her mom's music shop at The American Mall (where the entire movie takes place), while waiting to pursue her dream. There she meets Joey, a wannabe rock star who works as a janitor to get enough money to buy instruments for his band. Sparks fly when these two meet, but the mall owner's daughter, Madison, threatens their happiness when she sets her eyes on opening her new shop in place of Ally's mom's music shop. Of course let's not forget that this whole story unfolds through musical numbers here and there. Yes, it's a musical (which is probably why it appealed to me in the first place).

Some of the cast includes Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Ally, Rob Mayes as Joey, Autumn Reeser (The O.C.) as Madison Huxley, Yassmin Alers (Rent) as Erin, Ally’s mom, Al Sapienza (The Sopranos) as shopping mall owner and Madison’s dad, Max Huxley, Wade Allain-Marcus as Ricky, Neil Haskell (So You Think You Can Dance) as Drew, David Baum as Stavros, Brooke Lyons (American Dreams) as Dori, Blythe Auffarth (Veronica Mars) as Alexa, Bresha Webb (Lincoln Heights) as Little Penny, Bianca Collins (Unfabulous) as Mia and Rodney To as Ben.

Ok so now that I have seen it what do I think? Well, first of all let's get the bad stuff out of the way. It's not the best story ever told. In fact, there are lots of holes in the storyline, which I felt could have been explained in a better way, especially when they are supposed to create the crisis of the movie. And as far as the acting goes, I have definitely seen better. But the thing is, most people won't watch The American Mall for the acting, but for the musical numbers, and so with that said let's get to the good stuff.

The musical numbers: I'm sold (ok it's true I'm pretty easy when it comes to musicals, but still). I am already singing along to the songs (especially the second time I watched the movie, which by the way I cannot believe I already watched this twice) and have planned on buying the soundtrack when it's released on Tuesday, August 12. And if the music numbers work in a musical, well that's already half the battle. Finally, keep an eye out for my favorite song "A Little Bit Of Heart Somewhere" (I had to listen to that one a few times).

The cast: I really didn't know many of the actors apart for Autumn Reeser (Taylor in The O.C.) and of course Neil Haskell from So You Think You Can Dance, so I actually found it quite refreshing. As far as Neil Haskell goes, I had pretty low expectations for him, but turns out he was one of my favorite things about the movie. Seriously, he is really funny, I found myself actually looking forward to his next line. I really want to see Altar Boyz now.

And speaking of So You Think You Can Dance, were they getting a package deal or something because I actually caught two additional dancers from this season, Gev Manoukian and Matt Dorame, during some of the dance numbers. It almost makes you wonder if Neil had anything to do with them trying out this season...

Anyway, enough rambling on, I really liked The American Mall, and if you are a fan of High School Musical (and all that cheesiness), then don't miss The American Mall when it premieres tomorrow night, Monday August 11, at 9pm on MTV.

And if you miss the big night, don't panic, The American Mall DVD (and soundtrack) will be released on August 12 (that's right the next day), featuring tons of extra features including: an extended edition, deleted scenes, music videos – including a special number by the Janitors – and dance instructional with choreographer Bonnie Story for two musical numbers.

Review: THE AMERICAN MALL on MTV

I think we all know how much of a freak I am about High School Musical, and so of course, The American Mall has spiked my interest. Although I am not expecting another High School Musical, I think that The American Mall could satisfy my musical needs for this month.

And for those curious to find out if I actually enjoyed it, I will have a review up before Monday's premiere, so keep an eye out.

Finally, in addition to its premiere on August 11, The American Mall will be released DVD Tuesday, August 12, along with its soundtrack.

Synopsis: Set in the kind of mall that's always been a home away from home for teens everywhere, “The American Mall” is the story of Ally, a hardworking young woman whose mother has owned a music shop that's been the soul of the mall ever since it opened when Ally was a kid. Ally's singer/songwriter dreams seem to come closer to fruition when she meets Joey, a musician who's moonlighting as a janitor at the mall in order to support his own rock star ambitions. While Joey understands her songs (and heart) like no one else, Ally's happiness and the fate of the music store are threatened when the mall owner's spoiled daughter Madison – who will stop at nothing to get what she wants – becomes involved.

First Look: THE AMERICAN MALL Promo Video

Season 3 is officially over as the last episode aired this Monday night. While it didn’t deliver as many “oh my god” moments as I hoped, It was actually pretty good. Spencer follows Heidi to Vegas and crashes maybe one of the most important business meetings of her career so he could tell her that he was mad she left without telling him. And what’s worse, is that Heidi leaves the job and goes home with Spence! Did she not learn anything from LC giving up Paris to stay with Jason?

Laruen and Audrina finally try to talk things out. Audrina was completely right on the money with everything, but I don’t think that LC was seeing things the same way. Methinks she will stay loyal to Lo. It will be interesting to see what happens with that next season

2008 MTV Movie Awards - Nominees List

I have a lot to complain about this week and I’m not sure where to start. First, let me just say how shocked I was that the Alkaline Trio made an appearance on the show. They must have owed somebody a gigantic favor. They are probably the only band to appear on this show that didn’t need the publicity of the Hills. They’ve put out like 6 albums, gone gold and made millions selling out venues all over the world; and all without major label help or much publicity.

So a message to LC and LO: show a little respect, will ya? These guys have been making music for like 12 years so when you get invited to watch one of their recordings, it’s them doing you a favor, not the other way around. At least stay for 5-10 minutes, even if it’s not your thing. There are some of us that would kill for the chance to watch them record, and you trollops flipped through your blackberries for like 5 seconds and then bolted.

Lo (does anybody know her real name btw?) is FO SHO feelin threatened by Audrina. First she blows off the recording, and did anyone catch her little remark about how their new puppy would have “two mommies”, would it have hurt her to say three? She wants so badly to show Audrina that she is LC’s best friend. I feel sorry for Audrina because like the rest of us, she probably thought that she was done dealing with this stuff after she got out of the 4th grade.

What I want to see next week: Audrina move in with Heidi

Review: THE HILLS "No Place Like Home" (S03E31)

Not a very eventful episode of THE HILLS this week. The girls (LC, Lo, and Audrina) throw a house warming party and despite the fact that guests included Justin Bobby and Brody’s new girlfriend; the shin dig was surprisingly drama free. Steven, LC’s ex from high school (and Laguna Beach) also made an appearance and invited her to dinner the following night. Lauren admits to Lo that she never stopped having feelings for Steven. Comedy ensues when LC gets all dolled up expecting to rekindle with an old flame, and Steven shows up in jeans and a hoodie looking very much like he just wanted to catch up with an old friend. This is confirmed when over dinner he makes it clear that things between them are strictly “platonic”. Normally I wouldn’t find this so funny, but given the way LC has been treating everyone these days, I’m chalking this up to Karma.

Review: THE HILLS "A Date With The Past" (S03E30)

I don’t want to spend a lot of time dwelling on the negatives this week (LC being a biatch to basically everyone). Instead, I want to talk about why this episode was the very best of the new season. Two words: Justin Bobby. This dimwitted bad boy makes a reappearance on THE HILLS and it looks like he could be getting back together with Audrina. In his own words, Truth and time will tell all. Btw, did anyone else notice that JB got a haircut and teeth whitening? Nice. Honestly, I don’t think it would be the best thing for Audrina, who seems like a complete sweet heart, to get mixed up with this guy again, however, the dramedy this guy can bring to the show is amazing. I also really missed all of his lazy facial expressions. I don’t know what it is, but this guy has got it!

Review: THE HILLS "A New Roommate" (S3E29)

Heidi organizes a girls night out to get over her ex-boyfriend (sort of) Spencer Pratt. The only problem is that she no longer has any girlfriends, well, except for here ex-boyfriend's sister (Stephanie) and Audrina (who she wasn't speaking with until last week's episode).

The fun starts when Spencer decides to crash the girl's night out by showing up at the bar to flirt and do shots with other girls. I was sort of hoping Heidi would've gone up and been like "We are on relationship vacation, not retirement biatch!" and then maybe like punch him in the beard, but no. This is MTV and these girls are half retarded; so the most Spencer got for his hijinx was a stern talking to from Heidi.

Lauren was sort of boring this episode. She helps Whitney out at her new job, gets offered a job herself, and is pissed at Audrina for talking to Heidi. Can't wait for next week!

Review: THE HILLS "Girls Night Out" (S3E28)

So the new season of MTV’s THE HILLS is in full swing and I am left wondering if I’m still on Team Lauren? First she picks up a French Justin-Bobby in Paris, burns her free designer dress, and then exclaims that “Paris changes everything”. Now, I grant you there are few places in this world where you can do a week’s work and have it change your life. For example digging ditches in Afghanistan may give you a new perspective on things. Working at Teen Vogue, setting up fashion shows and going to clubs, is basically the same exact thing she was doing In L.A.

Let’s talk about last night’s episode of The Hills. We see Spencer being a total d-bag to Heidi (surprise surprise) as he gets ousted from his casa. Spencer’s sister has a class with Lauren and the two kiss and make up. By the wway, I wonder how Spence is going to feel when he finds out the two are lunching together? And then Lauren gives the cold shoulder to Brody refusing to give him a hug and saying only “Where’s your girlfriend”? The whole thing struck me as very juvenile. The two were not officially going out, and she seemed to get over Brody pretty quick in Paris (French Justin-Bobby). So my feeling about the whole thing is that she should have either let it go, or been an adult and talked to him about it rationally in a 1 on 1 type of scenario. Going off on somebody in public is never a good look. That being said, I am loving the new episodes and can’t wait to find out what happens next!

ROCK THE CRADLE - Premieres tonight on MTV

I guess I was right, Tila Tequila is returning for a second season of A SHOT AT LOVE on MTV.

I cannot say that I am really surprised, we sort of already knew this was coming since the show had so much success. They are going to milk it as much as they can. I'm sure a lot of people are happy that they'll get to see more of Tila Tequila soon.

So when is A Shot at Love coming back for season two? This spring on MTV. Will you tune in?

A SHOT AT LOVE gets a second season

Update: Tila Tequila did announce the return of A Shot At Love for a second season. I was right!
You can view the video of Tila Tequila's announcement here. Seriously, how fake does she sound. If you ask me, they already knew they were going to do a second season when the first season turned out to be such a hit.

To celebrate the New Year, MTV is throwing a big party, TILA TEQUILA’S NEW YEARS EVE MASQUERADE 2008, which will air New Year's Eve Live at 11pm ET/PT.

I am told that Tila Tequila will be making a huge announcement during the MTV New Year celebration. If you have been following A Shot at Love, then you know that Tila Tequila eventually picked Bobby. I personally got all caught up when MTV showed all the episodes back to back and when I had nothing else to watch on TV.

Back to the announcement, some people think that it might be a wedding announcement, I personally think it's going to be the announcement of a Season Two for A Shot at Love because, shocker, things didn't work out between her and Bobby. That's only my guess though, so if you're curious to find out what the announcement is, you'll have to tune in to MTV on New Year's Eve.
