It's official, we have a premiere date for DOCTOR WHO's final two specials, Doctor Who: The End of Time.
Part One will premiere on Saturday, December 26, 2009 on BBC America, and the premiere date for Part Two should be announced very soon as well.
This will be the last Doctor Who episodes starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. He will then be replaced by Matt Smith who will become the Eleventh Doctor in the new season slated to premiere in 2010.
Doctor Who: The End of Time will also bring back a favorite of mine: The Master. I personally can't wait to see John Simm back as The Master. And if the last episode featuring The Master is anything to go by, we should expect this one is going to be epic!

BBC UNVEILS NEW LOGO FOR NEW DOCTOR
A first look at the new Doctor Who logo, which will accompany Matt Smith's on-screen debut as The Doctor in spring 2010, has been unveiled and can be seen at www.bbcamerica.com/doctorwho. The logo is the eleventh to have been used on screen in the show's history.

About the new logo Steven Moffat, the new Lead Writer and Executive Producer said:

Check out Matt Smith in costume as the 11th Doctor filming new episodes of DOCTOR WHO.
We have known for a while that David Tennant would not be returning, and also found out that Matt Smith had been chosen to replace him, but now we finally get to see him as the Doctor thanks to BBC (via Scifi Wire).
Next to him is Karen Gillian, who is playing the Doctor's new companion, Amy Pond.
In addition to Matt Smith taking over the role, there were also some additional changes made behind-the-scenes of the show. Steven Moffat is now the new lead writer and executive producer, who will be responsible for the "overall creative direction of the show, as well as plot and character arcs." As a fan of his shows and all his Doctor Who episodes, I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us this new season.

Check out the trailer, as well as a clip from DOCTOR WHO: The Waters of Mars. This is the second special episode of Doctor Who, which follows "Planet of the Dead." It is expected to air in November 2009 in the UK.
I just cannot get enough of David Tennant as the Doctor and it's really sad to think that this is one of his last episodes, although I can't wait to see it.

It's finally here! The new trailer for DOCTOR WHO's new special "Planet of the Dead" has been released and will air on BBC One on April 11, 2009. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether or not Sci-Fi will air these specials anytime soon or at all.
But that doesn't prevent us from enjoying this first trailer. As you can notice, this time the Doctor's companion is Michelle Ryan ("Bionic Woman"). I cannot wait to see this, it's going to be nice to have David Tennant back on TV.
Watch the trailer for Doctor Who "Planet of the Dead" below.

<p>It's finally here! The new trailer for <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com/category/doctor-who/"><strong>DOCTOR WHO</strong></a>'s new special "Planet of the Dead" has been released and will air on BBC One on April 11, 2009. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether or not Sci-Fi will air these specials anytime soon or at all. </p>
<p>But that doesn't prevent us from enjoying this first trailer. As you can notice, this time the Doctor's companion is Michelle Ryan ("Bionic Woman"). I cannot wait to see this, it's going to be nice to have David Tennant back on TV. </p>

In one of the saddest TV news, David Tennant officially announced that he was leaving DOCTOR WHO.
David Tennant made the announcement after winning the outstanding drama performance prize at the National Television Awards:
"When Doctor Who returns in 2010 it won't be with me," he said.
"Now don't make me cry," he added. "I love this part, and I love this show so much that if I don't take a deep breath and move on now I never will, and you'll be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair."
Well, I might just cry. I thought David Tennant was an amazing Doctor. But then again, I was also really sad when Christopher Eccleston left and ended up loving David Tennant even more. I just hope the next Doctor will be able to fill the big shoes left by Tennant.
As for who I would like to see as the new Doctor, [...]<p>This is a post from <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com">Daemon's TV</a>.</p>

<p>As for who I would like to see as the new Doctor, well a while back there were some <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com/2008/03/07/david-tennant-replaced-on-doctor-who/">rumors that Robert Carlyle</a> might be the next Doctor, and I still wouldn't mind that. </p>
<p>Other than him, there has been talk of James Nesbitt (who was brilliant in <strong>Jekyll</strong>), and funny enough, John Simm (who played The Master in <strong>Doctor Who</strong>) was mentioned as well. Even though that might be hard to explain, I would love John Simm as the new Doctor, he would do a great job.</p>
<p>And just for the sake of it, I think Jason Isaacs would be a great Doctor, but then again he is already in the <strong>Brotherhood</strong> and I have doubts that they would even be able to get him.</p>

Doctor Who is back in what promises to be a very scary episode. I really like this season. Donna Noble is a solid companion, bringing a practical no nonsense point of view to the whole thing.
Don't forget to watch Doctor Who "Silence in the Library" on June 20 at 9pm on SciFi.
For now check out a promo and more pictures for Doctor Who "Silence in the Library" below.
Read all our Doctor Who coverage here.

Episode Synopsis:
The Doctor and Donna's meet Agatha Christie at a manor owned by Lady Eddison. When Agatha Christie goes missing and a body turns up in the library the adventure turns into a pulp sci-fiction murder mystery, with a murder, a jewel thief, and a wasp alien. Can they solve the mystery?

Last week's episode of DOCTOR WHO was really good. It was really emotional and smart, just like we love them. Tonight the Doctor and Donna are heading towards a new adventure on the Planet of Ood, whom we have met in a previous season (can't remember which one) of Doctor Who.
I just adore the show and it's just so much fun to watch. And if the season continues that way, it's going to be a brilliant season!
So don't forget to watch Doctor Who "Planet of the Ood" tonight, May 9, at 9pm on Sci-Fi.
For now check out a promo and more pictures for Doctor Who "Planet of the Ood" below.

"The Doctor: Now, first things first. Be honest. How do I look?
Rose: Umm. Different.
The Doctor: Good different or bad different?"
TV Show: Doctor Who
Episode: "The Christmas Invasion"
Character: The Doctor
Why we like it: This is the first episode that featured the newly-regenerated Doctor, played by David Tennant. With this line, David Tennant won over fans of Doctor Who, at least he won me over. It just encompasses everything that the Doctor is about. And of course this is only one of many, many wonderful quotes.

DOCTOR WHO is back!
What is probably my favorite TV show on television returned last Friday for a whole new fourth season. David Tennant has put back his Doctor shoes (well I'm not sure technically he has special Doctor shoes, but you get the point) and found a new partner in crime (pun not intended), Donna (Catherine Tate).
I have to say that I am always saddened when a partner of the Doctor leaves, but so far the replacements have been pretty good. Even though none of them can replace the previous partner, each of them bring their own personality and have their own relationship with the Doctor. And so Donna made her technically second appearance (she was also in "The Runaway Bride") in Doctor Who. And even though she can't replace Rose or Martha, she fits just right in as a different, fun, new partner.

<p><strong>DOCTOR WHO</strong> is back! </p>
<p>What is probably my favorite TV show on television returned last Friday for a whole new fourth season. David Tennant has put back his Doctor shoes (well I'm not sure technically he has special Doctor shoes, but you get the point) and found a new partner in crime (pun not intended), Donna (Catherine Tate).</p>
<p>I have to say that I am always saddened when a partner of the Doctor leaves, but so far the replacements have been pretty good. Even though none of them can replace the previous partner, each of them bring their own personality and have their own relationship with the Doctor. And so Donna made her technically second appearance (she was also in "The Runaway Bride") in <strong>Doctor Who</strong>. And even though she can't replace Rose or Martha, she fits just right in as a different, fun, new partner.</p>
<p>The scene where the Doctor and her finally see each other was hilarious. I think it definitely helped in my accepting of her as the new partner.</p>
<p>Oh and is it wrong that I found the "fat" babies cute?</p>
<p>Overall it was a great season opener, the Doctor saved the day once more and just can't wait to see what other new adventures the Doctor and Donna will get into this season.</p>
<p>Finally I would like to say, what is the deal with Rose being back at the end of the episode?!!! Could she be back in future episodes? Does that mean we are going to get the emotional reunion I was hoping for? </p>
<p>Don't forget to watch <strong>Doctor Who</strong> Fridays at 9pm on Sci Fi.</p>

Name: THE DOCTOR
TV Show: Doctor Who which airs Fridays at 9pm on Sci-fi.
Actor portraying him: David Tennant
Why we like him: The Doctor is a superhero like no other. He can't leap from tall buildings, stop bullets, or even run faster than a speeding train but Superman ain't got nothing on him. The Doctor is imbued with the infinite ability to see good in the worst of people and to see evil in the minutia of life. His gift (or curse depending on how you look at it) is to see time like no one has or ever will. If I ever needed a superhero by my side, I would take him any day of the week.
What other show we see him in: Obviously it would be great seeing the Doctor in Torchwood. Now that would be an interesting encounter.

Why we like him: We like him because he is one of those rare actors that has layers upon layers of talent that he can effectively tap into for the role of Doctor Who. He can do anything: He can make you laugh, cry and feel for any of his lines. Episode zero? Episode zero??
It must be an odd thing, from a US perspective, Christmas TV in the UK. On Christmas Day, virtually everywhere shuts down and people stay at home, digesting their Christmas dinner and watching the TV. In times gone by, the BBC and ITV used to fight to unleash the biggest blockbuster movies on Christmas Day itself - until specialist movie channels, video and DVD rendered this tactic obsolete. There's a tongue-in-cheek history of this practice here (warning: contains obscure cultural references; swearing; idiomatic English; swearing; British humour; and swearing).

<p>(Also doubling as a short piece on Christmas TV in the UK)</p>
<p>Episode zero? Episode zero??</p>
<p>It must be an odd thing, from a US perspective, Christmas TV in the UK. There's a tongue-in-cheek history of this practice <a href="http://tv.cream.org/specialassignments/films/christmas/index.html">here</a> (warning: contains obscure cultural references; swearing; idiomatic English; swearing; British humour; and swearing).</p>
<p>Another tradition on Christmas Day (and on the days around it) is the Christmas Special. Most famous are the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morecambe_and_Wise#Christmas_Specials"><strong>Morecombe and Wise</strong> Christmas Specials</a> in the 1970s; and the <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com/2008/02/03/only-fools-and-horses-david-top-10-tv-shows/"><strong>Only Fools and Horses</strong></a> Christmas Specials, especially those shown <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Only_Fools_and_Horses_episodes#Christmas_Specials_.281991-2003.29">in the 1990s</a>. I know there are plenty of US Christmas Specials (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christmas_television_specials">here</a> is a comparative list) but my understanding is that none of them were first broadcast on Christmas Day itself. Nor, as far as I know, have there been ratings phenomena like the 1977 Morecambe and Wise Christmas Special (which got 28 million viewers on Christmas Day, approximately half of the UK population at the time) or the series of three 1996 <strong>Only Fools and Horses</strong> Christmas Specials (which all exceeded 20 million viewers). </p>
<p><span id="more-3315"></span>To give you an idea of the kind of entertainment that the British public traditionally lap up on Christmas Day, here's a clip from the first of those <strong>Only Fools and Horses</strong> Specials:</p>
<div align="center" style="padding:10px"><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hYq-Ljwov_s&#038;hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hYq-Ljwov_s&#038;hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></div>
<p>And while <strong>Only Fools and Horses</strong> specialised in great situation comedy set-pieces at Christmas (requiring a location filming budget that went beyond the series' origins as a studio-bound sitcom), the big draw on the <strong>Morecambe and Wise Show</strong> was the celebrity guest appearances. Here is famous appearance by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Previn">André Previn</a> on the 1971 Christmas show:</p>
<div align="center" style="padding:10px"><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vP8TUe993uo&#038;hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vP8TUe993uo&#038;hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></div>
<p>As I've already mentioned in a post about the <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com/2008/04/06/weird-wonderful-world-british-broadcasting-part-two/">history of TV in the UK</a>, the two most watched programmes on UK TV, for the whole of 2007, were both broadcast on Christmas Day. At number one was a Christmas episode of the soap, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EastEnders"><strong>EastEnders</strong></a>. And this is also a Christmas tradition - dating from 1986, when they got 30 million viewers by screening the thoroughly miserable climax of an ongoing storyline on Christmas Day. This clip explains more:</p>
<div align="center" style="padding:10px"><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gkQWnS9kXNo&#038;hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gkQWnS9kXNo&#038;hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></div>
<p>As well as entertainment, the British love a bit of extreme misery on Christmas Day, it seems. The many Yuletide catastrophes that have befallen <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walford">Walford</a>, the fictional London Borough where <strong>EastEnders</strong> is set, have even been referenced in a scene from the <strong>Doctor Who</strong> episode <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Impossible_Planet">The Impossible Planet</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>IDA<br />
Well... we've come this far. There's no turning back. </p>
<p>DOCTOR<br />
Oh, did you have to? No turning back? That's almost as bad as "nothing can possible go wrong" or "this is gonna be the best Christmas Walford's ever had" --</p></blockquote>
<p>And it was, indeed, <strong>Doctor Who</strong> that was the second most watched programme in 2007. More specifically, it was the episode I'm reviewing, "Voyage of the Damned." It was shown between the two <strong>EastEnders</strong> episodes that day - forming a bizarre kind of interlude to the story of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Branning">Bradley</a> discovering, by watching his wedding video, that his new bride, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacey_Branning">Stacey</a>, was having an affair with his father, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Branning">Max</a>. Incidentally, Bradley is a <strong>Doctor Who</strong> fan, and Stacey's later attempted reconciliation with him was set at a <strong>Doctor Who</strong> convention (see <a href="http://www.behindthesofa.org.uk/2008/02/no-future-for-b.html">this blog post</a> for more details). </p>
<p>Thus, <strong>EastEnders</strong> exists as a fictional programme in <strong>Doctor Who</strong> (it also features in the episode <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_Ghosts">Army of Ghosts</a>) and <strong>Doctor Who</strong> is a fictional programme in <strong>EastEnders</strong> - a recursive paradox creating an anomaly the exact size of Belgium*. This situation is further complicated by the fact that Bradley's stepmother, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanya_Branning">Tanya</a> is played by the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo_Joyner">actress</a> who played Lynda in the <strong>Doctor Who</strong> episodes <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Wolf">Bad Wolf</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Parting_of_the_Ways">The Parting of the Ways</a>. And that's without even mentioning the disastrous 1993 charity <strong>Doctor Who/EastEnders</strong> crossover, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimensions_in_Time">Dimensions in Time</a>. But enough of that...</p>
<p>"Voyage of the Damned" is the third <strong>Doctor Who</strong> Christmas Special, following <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Christmas_Invasion">The Christmas Invasion</a>, in 2005, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Runaway_Bride_%28Doctor_Who%29">The Runaway Bride</a>, in 2006. They are not <strong>EastEnders</strong> style festivals of misery (although <strong>Doctor Who</strong> has never been scared of darkness or of death) but, somewhat in the tradition of <strong>Morecambe and Wise</strong> and <strong>Only Fools and Horses</strong>, they were designed to provide a set-piece entertainment for the Christmas Day audience (and The Runaway Bride even went as far as casting <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Tate">Catherine Tate</a>, well known in the UK for her <a href="http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/76/index.jsp">comedy sketch show</a>, as a guest star). More than that, though, these <strong>Doctor Who</strong> Christmas Specials resurrected the tradition of Christmas movies with their blockbuster-style action sequences (the Sycorax spaceship over London, in The Christmas Invasion; and the TARDIS car chase in The Runaway Bride). And Voyage of the Damned takes this one stage further: it is, in essence, a disaster movie. Not that disaster movies were a Christmas staple (although the BBC did show a couple on Christmas Day: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airport_%28film%29">Airport</a> in 1975; and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airport_1975">Airport 1975</a> in, um, 1980), but the likes of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Towering_Inferno"><strong>The Towering Inferno</strong></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Poseidon_Adventure_%28film%29"><strong>The Poseidon Adventure</strong></a> were prime-time TV hits. </p>
<p>Russell T Davies is a big fan of disaster movies and Voyage of the Damned is, unashamedly and without irony, a <strong>Doctor Who</strong> version of <strong>The Poseidon Adventure</strong>. For this reason, it is exciting, bold and watchable - but, in terms of making an emotionally satisfying drama, it has all the limitations of the genre. As he does with all his <strong>Doctor Who</strong> scripts, Russell T Davies pushes as hard as he can at these limits, and manages to touch on some interesting philosophical points about the morality of outcomes and the randomness of the universe, but ultimately the technical requirements of this type of story deny him the space to make a properly affecting drama.</p>
<p>In keeping with what may be becoming a <strong>Doctor Who</strong> Christmas Special tradition, this episode also has a celebrity guest star, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylie_Minogue">Kylie Minogue</a>. Minogue is probably most famous in the US for her hit single <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Can%27t_Get_You_out_of_My_Head">Can't Get You out of My Head</a> and in many other countries (especially the UK and her native Australia) she is a huge pop star. She started her career as an actress in the Australian soap opera <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neighbours"><strong>Neighbours</strong></a>** and also had parts in a couple of prime examples of the art of Hollywood filmmaking: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Fighter_%28film%29">Street Fighter</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bio-Dome">Bio-Dome</a>. </p>
<p>Minogue brings a great deal of charm to the role of Astrid, a waitress on The Titanic, but not a great deal of anything else. To be fair, though, the nature of the story is such that she doesn't have that much to work with - and this means that her performance is pretty good within the context of the episode. There is also some excellent work from the supporting cast, especially <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Palmer_%28actor%29">Geoffrey Palmer</a> as the Captain, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Tovey">Russell Tovey</a> as Midshipman Frame and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clive_Swift">Clive Swift</a> as Mr Copper, a tour guide with (apparently) a degree in Earthonomics. David Tennant is reliably superb in the role of the Doctor, as expected.</p>
<p>The Sci-Fi Channel is promoting Voyage of the Damned as the "Season Four Premiere" and have it scheduled in a 90 minute slot (it ran for 72 minutes, without commercials, on the BBC, so the Sci-Fi version will probably have cuts), but it isn't properly a part of Series Four of <strong>Doctor Who</strong> at all. In UK terms, it is an interlude, some entertainment for Christmas Day, with the real start of the series still four months away. With the first two Christmas Specials, there was some "overall story" work to be done (The Christmas Invasion had to introduce the new Doctor, The Runaway Bride had to deal with the aftermath of Rose leaving) - and so they did feel at least connected to the episodes that followed them. Voyage of the Damned, by contrast, has no such work to do and exists very much as a standalone episode (although one character does have a recurring role in Series Four, see if you can guess which one). So, yes, episode zero is probably an apt description (as well as being the convention when listing Christmas Specials). In previous years, Sci-Fi has scheduled the first episode of the series immediately after the Christmas Special, this time you will have to wait a week.</p>
<p>Immediately after Voyage of the Damned had finished airing, I was extremely pleased and had thoroughly enjoyed myself - but that was Christmas Day, in the UK. I've no idea how it'll come across in mid-April in the US. So, if you find yourself slightly disappointed, remember that this is episode zero and that the real start of the series is a week later, with Partners in Crime (which I'll be giving you a spoiler-free review of soon) - oh, and thank your lucky stars that it isn't <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star_Wars_Holiday_Special">The Star Wars Holiday Special</a>.</p>
<p>Voyage of the Damned starts at 8.30pm EDT/PDT on Friday April 18 on The Sci-Fi Channel, there is a repeat showing at 11.00pm EDT/PDT on the same day. NB: the Sci-Fi channel has separate East Coast and West Coast cable feeds, satellite transmissions are all EDT. Here is the BBC trailer:</p>
<div align="center" style="padding:10px"><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LcqHcXAuhsQ&#038;hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LcqHcXAuhsQ&#038;hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></div>
<p>*If you get this joke, award yourself 45 geek points (redeemable for a wide range of items, including flying toasters); if not, then you'll have to wait until the end of the month for an explanation.</p>
<p>**<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Dale">Alan Dale</a> (<strong>the O.C.</strong>, <strong>Lost</strong>, <strong>Ugly Betty</strong>) played her father in <strong>Neighbours</strong>. When Kylie was in Cardiff filming Voyage of the Damned, he was also there filming his episode of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reset_%28Torchwood%29"><strong>Torchwood</strong></a>. It was the first time they had met since they were both in <strong>Neighbours</strong> in the 1980s.</p>

And thanks to our reader and Doctor Who fan, Matthew, who sent us some great videos links of previews for the season 4 of Doctor Who.
(Update: Quick update, I forgot to mention that Matthew also created a great Doctor Who Guide, non-spoilery, for Doctor Who novices, and can I say how much fun I had reading it as I was catching up on all three seasons! So check it out here.)
Check out the three videos below.
The first one is the new trailer for season 4 of Doctor Who, which apparently is being shown in British cinemas.
The second video is the preview for season 4 of Doctor Who that was shown at the end of season 3.
Finally, the third video is a compilation of 3 teasers for season 4 of Doctor Who. I was told that there were some minor spoilers in [...]<p>This is a post from <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com">Daemon's TV</a>.</p>

I have been meaning to write about two of my favorite TV shows, DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD ever since I finished watching season 3 of Doctor Who.
I started watching Doctor Who, after a few of our readers convinced me to give it a chance, since I was such a big fan of Torchwood. And I am glad I did because I became so addicted to Doctor Who.
After watching the season 3 finale, I can honestly say that it was one of the best finale I have ever seen. I was on the edge of my seat the whole last three episodes of the season, which formed the fantastic finale. And for Life on Mars fans, John Simm (who played Sam Tyler on Life On Mars) has a big part in all three episodes and his performance was exquisite.

And for <strong>Life on Mars</strong> fans, John Simm (who played Sam Tyler on <strong>Life On Mars</strong>) has a big part in all three episodes and his performance was exquisite.</p>
<p>The best part is that the finale actually revealed a big information about Captain Jack Harkness from <strong>Torchwood</strong>, which makes me watch the show in a totally new light and I love it. If you are a <strong>Torchwood</strong> fan, I absolutely recommend you watch<strong> Doctor Who</strong> and trust me, it'll give you a different outlook and understanding of <strong>Torchwood</strong> and of its main character, Captain Jack Harkness.</p>
<p>I don't want to reveal too much, but let's just say that my jaw dropped when I heard the revelation.</p>
<p>Point is, <strong>Doctor Who</strong> and <strong>Torchwood</strong> are wonderful shows and I cannot wait to see <strong>Doctor Who</strong>'s new season. As for <strong>Torchwood</strong>, I am currently catching up on the second season, which I am loving.</p>
<p>Finally, I would like to say I big thanks to the people who convinced me to watch <strong>Doctor Who</strong>, I love it!</p>

According to SyFy Portal, David Tennant who currently plays the Doctor in DOCTOR WHO, is set to leave the show after completing work for the Doctor Who specials for 2009.
Obviously, we all know how this will be explained in the show (in case you haven't been following, the Doctor will once again regenerate himself), however the question is, who will become the new Doctor?
While negotiations are still taking place, rumors are that Robert Carlyle is going to step in as the 11th Doctor.
Now here is my dilemma: I absolutely love David Tennant as the Doctor and I am really sad to see him go, but at the same time I think that Robert Carlyle (if the deal goes through) would be amazing as the new Doctor. This is like Sophie's Choice... but I guess ultimately this is out of my hands.
Update: Here is the original article that released the [...]<p>This is a post from <a href="http://www.daemonstv.com">Daemon's TV</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Update:</strong> Here is the <a href="http://scifipulse.net/Dr_Who/ChangesForWho_Torchwood.html" target="_blank">original article</a> that released the story if you would like to read it.<br />
In addition, I have come across <a href="http://www.denofgeek.com/television/13021/doctor_who_robert_carlyle_denies_tardis_approach.html" target="_blank">this article</a> which states that Robert Carlyle has denied ever being approached to be the new Doctor on <strong>Doctor Who</strong>. </p>
