EUREKA "Insane in the P-Brane" Season 3 Episode 11

EUREKA is back after what felt like an eternity this Friday, July 10 on SyFy Channel (9-10 p.m. ET) with a new episode "Welcome Back Carter". I had the opportunity to review this episode in advance and here are my thoughts on it.

In "Welcome Back Carter", Carter is still out of a job as sheriff and Deputy Lupo is facing some job challenges of her own, mainly the fact that she has a new boss who just happens to be a robot.

The story in this episode is classic Eureka. It's fun and light, especially in the scenes the robot sheriff is visibly outshining Carter in some ways. Don't expect any big mysteries though. Just a straightforward Eureka style story from beginning to end.

The characters are as quirky and fun as usual but I would lie if there is anything to write home about.

Overall, "Welcome Back Carter" is like any other Eureka episode with its signature technology driven storylines and funny dialogues. Very predictable but also wicked fun if you are into this show, which I happen to be into big time.

However, Jack Carter's promotion letter in the pilot episode clearly labels it as the town of Eureka, Washington) and inhabited entirely by brilliant scientists working on new scientific advancements for the United States government that frequently go disastrously awry. The town's existence and location are closely guarded secrets.
U.S. Marshal Jack Carter stumbles upon Eureka while transporting a fugitive prisoner — his own rebellious teenage daughter Zoe — back to her mother's home in Los Angeles. When a faulty experiment cripples the sheriff of Eureka, Carter finds himself quickly chosen to fill the vacancy. Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Season Two)

Synopsis: Secret Diary of a Call Girl follows the adventures of Belle a high-class London-based call girl.

Cast: Billie Piper, Iddo Goldberg, Cherie Lunghi, Callum Blue, Ashley Madekwe

Recommendations: I think I enjoyed season two of Secret Diary of a Call Girl even more than season one. It's definitely a great rental.

Stargate Altantis (The Complete Fifth Season)

Recommendations: I haven't been a loyal fan of Entourage, although I do watch an episode now and then.

Princess Protection Program

Synopsis: When Princess Rosalinda (Lovato) is about to become queen of her country of Costa Luna, the country is invaded by an evil dictator. She is put into the Princess Protection Program, a secret organization funded by royal families that looks after endangered princesses. Rosalinda is taken under the wing of Mason (Verica), an agent in the PPP from rural Louisiana. While there, she meets his daughter, Carter (Gomez), an insecure tomboy who works at the local bait shop. Carter dreams of going to the school dance with her crush, Donny, (Adamson), the school hottie. In becoming a normal teenager, Rosalinda takes up the name Rosie and soon becomes popular at school, which Carter must learn to handle. The two become close friends, with Carter teaching Rosie to act like a normal American girl, and Rosie helping Carter to find her inner princess.

Recommendations: This is bound to please teenagers, especially since the movie was the third highest premiere for a Disney Channel Original Movie, behind Camp Rock and High School Musical 2.

So... when I said that I didn't want Allison to marry Nathan, I didn't mean kill the guy!

Last week's episode was freaking amazing! And even though I am sad that Nathan is gone for good, I was blown away by how good the episode, "I Do Over," was. Which leads me to this week's episode. I am loving Eureka more and more, and tonight's episode looks like another good one, although I wonder how Allison is dealing with Nathan's sudden death. Don't forget to tune in!

EUREKA "Show Me the Mummy" (S03E05)

Check out some pictures from EUREKA's episode 4, "I Do Over," airing this Monday, August 19, at 9pm on Sci Fi. I cannot believe they are going to do this to us. How can Allison marry Nathan?! I think I am in denial because I still have hope that some explosion might happen in the middle of the ceremony and delay the wedding long enough for Allison to realize she really wants to be with Carter. And you know what, with the town of Eureka, this might actually happen. Fingers crossed!\

I also noticed this is the episode in which we meet Carter's sister, Lexi, for the first time. Back at Comic Con, Colin Ferguson mentioned how different Carter and Lexi. Turns out that even though Carter had a hard time getting accepted by the town of Eureka, they welcome Lexi with arms wide open. Ouch, that must hurt Carter.

EUREKA "I Do Over" (S03E04)

Back at Comic Con, Salli Richardson (Alison) mentioned how tonight's episode was her favorite episode of this new EUREKA season. I remember because it's the one in which she is in a wedding dress, and I guess the question on everybody's mind is: "Is she really going to marry Nathan?" And I for sure am rooting for Carter. Oh and check out the preview clip from the episode, it just sets up tonight's episode so well.

Did you miss the town of EUREKA and its inhabitants? I know I did, which is why I am so happy to say that Eureka is coming back for a third season, starting on July 29.

CAVEMEN "Her Embarrassed Of Caveman" - 8pm ABC
Cavemen finally starts tonight. All bets are off. Lots of people are less than enthusiastic about Cavemen. I personally think I'll watch it as long as it's on TV.

CARPOOLERS "Pilot" - 8:30pm ABC
Carpoolers premieres tonight and I think people are going to enjoy it. It's a 30 minute show which is short enough not to get bored but long enough to have a good time. So far Carpoolers has made it on my schedule.

REAPER "Charged" - 9pm CW
After the premiere last week, I am curious to see where Reaper is going to take us this week. Who will Sam have to send back to hell this week?

HOUSE "The Right Stuff" - 9pm FOX
Let the games begin! Who will survive the game of House? I was so happy to see good old House back last week, I feel this is going to be a fun season. Look at some pictures from tonight's episode here.

EUREKA "A Night At Global Dynamics" - 9pm Sci-Fi
Season finale tonight, but it's not all sad because Eureka has been renewed for a third season and will be back next summer. I'm going to enjoy the last episode of my feel-good show as much as I can because it's going to be a while before it's back.

DAMAGES "Sort Of Like A Family" - 10pm FX
Damages has been a surprise for me this summer. I started out just liking it ok, but then every week it gets better and better. Now I don't want it to end.

LA INK "Kim Looks For Love" - 10pm TLC
One of the few reality shows I watch, but I really enjoy it. Kat is really fun and her crew does such amazing work. If you haven't seen LA Ink yet, you might want to check it out.

On Tonight, Monday 10/2: CARPOOLERS, CAVEMEN, and more...

SCI FI Channel has greenlit production on a third season of its most-watched Original Series EUREKA, ordering 13 new hours of the dramedy.

Eureka will begin production on a third season in Vancouver early next year for a summer 2008 premiere.

Now that's what I call a good news. Not that I was worried Eureka was not going to get a third season, it's one of the best shows on Sci-Fi (with Battlestar Galactica of course). Summer 2008 sounds really far though, doesn't it? But I won't complain, at least it's coming back.
