Eric - #1 STARGATE SG1

Stargate SG1

If you could be anywhere in the universe, where would you like to be? That question was answered for me the day I saw Stargate SG1 for the first time.

This is by far my favorite show of all time as it encompasses all the escape and entertainment I can use. From discovering different worlds to discovering different cultures, there was everything for everyone.

Plus let’s not forget the bad guys: The Goa’uld, The Replicators, The Ori. These villains certainly did not play games. My favorites still remain the Goa’uld because they had that cool voice. “Kneel Before me, Tau’ri”.

At least, I still have Stargate Atlantis to keep my mind off the fact that the series has ended.

Cast: Christopher Judge, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Richard Dean Anderson, Don S. Davis, and Gary Jones

Plot: A secret military team, SG-1, is formed to explore the recently discovered StarGates. (Source: imdb.com)

“BIONIC WOMAN” HAS A RECAST

Moonlight is not the only new show to be recasting some of its characters, now BIONIC WOMAN has decided to change the actress portraying Becca (the main character’s deaf sister) played by Mae Whitman in the pilot, with someone else.

    An NBC spokesperson:

“The decision was purely creatively driven. It is very common to change storylines, characters, actors after the initial pilot is shot.”

The replacement hasn’t been chosen yet, but a rumor says that the “new” character might not be deaf anymore… to be continued

TNT MOVES “HEARTLAND” TO 8PM

TNT has decided to move its new show HEARTLAND from its 10pm slot (after The Closer) to the 8pm slot.

To replace Heartland at 10pm, TNT will debut its new show SAVING GRACE (starring Holly Hunter) on July 23rd. TNT is hoping Saving Grace will do better in this timeslot.

I am still confused about what Saving Grace is about. My guess is it’s either going to be really good or really bad.

“STARGATE” DIRECT TO DVD MOVIE DELAYED

The STARGATE movie Ark of Truth has been delayed until the first half of 2008. The second Stargate film, Continuum, has also been delayed.

Stargate: Ark of Truth will resolve:

the two-year Ori story arc that was left unresolved in the somewhat bland SG-1 series finale.

    Stargate: Continuum will be about:

missing teammates Teal’c and Vala and a timeline gone haywire.

Rumors are that if those movies are successful, MGM would like to release two Stargate movies a year.

How cool is that? I am not a Stargate SG-1 fan, but even I can see the good news this is. I wish they would do this with all my favorite shows that got cancelled.

“ACCORDING TO JIM” BACK ON ABC

I didn’t even know this show was cancelled (well actually I don’t even watch this show), but it seems that ACCORDING TO JIM was resuscitated by ABC and given a seventh season of 18 episodes.

Why couldn’t the CW do that with Veronica Mars (yes, still bitter…)

Cast changes on STARGATE ATLANTIS

June 18, 2007

Stargate Atlantis

I just read in Sci-Fi Wire that a few changes will be happening on STARGATE ATLANTIS next season.

The season finale for Stargate Atlantis will air this Friday at 9pm on Sci-Fi, right after the series finale of Stargate SG-1, be careful of spoilers

Joe Flanigan (Lt. Col. John Sheppard) had this to say to Sci-Fi Wire:

“We lost Paul McGillion [Dr. Carson Beckett], who was a valued member of our team, personally and professionally,” Flanigan said in an interview on the show’s set in Vancouver, Canada. “We miss him. We have lost Torri Higginson [Dr. Elizabeth Weir]—my God, this sounds like a funeral—who was also a really valued member of our group.

With the departures, there’s also a significant addition, Flanigan added. “We’ve also gained a really valuable member of our group, Amanda [Tapping as Samantha Carter],” he said. “She’s a real veteran, a real professional; she knows the genre and can tackle the gobbledygook of science fiction dialogue perhaps even better than David [Hewlett, Dr. Rodney McKay], which is hard to do.”

Tapping joins the Atlantis team after 10 seasons on the sister series, Stargate SG-1. When she makes the transition, she gets a promotion to colonel. According to the producers, Carter’s status as Sheppard’s superior may lead to some conflict. Flanigan is all for it, though he admitted that playing out that friction has been harder than he expected.

Damn it, another show that intrigues me now, I can’t take it anymore, there is just too much…
