TNT will conclude the fascinating journey of Oklahoma City Police Det. Grace Hanadarko in 2010, when the network's groundbreaking original series SAVING GRACE will come to an end. SAVING GRACE will wrap up with a nine-episode run planned for next summer. The provocative drama stars Oscar® winner Holly Hunter (The Piano), who this year received the second of two consecutive Emmy® nominations for her no-holds-barred performance. Hunter also serves as executive producer of SAVING GRACE, along with show creator Nancy Miller (Any Day Now), Gary A. Randall (Any Day Now, Leaving L.A.) and Artie Mandelberg (Leaving L.A., Mr. & Mrs. Smith). For its current summer run, which ends Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), the show has averaged more than 3.5 million viewers and ranks first in its time period among viewers, households, adults 25-54 and women 25-54.

In SAVING GRACE, which comes to TNT from Fox Television Studios, Hunter's Grace Hanadarko is a high-spirited detective who holds nothing back, whether on the job or in her personal life. The series follows as she investigates brutal crimes while also trying to find balance in her conflicted relationship with her partner, Ham (Kenneth Johnson – The Shield), whose grief she helped soothe after the death of his brother in Afghanistan. Grace also has to deal with her unconventional last-chance angel, Earl (Leon Rippy – Deadwood), whose interaction and occasional interference in her life is, according to him, all part of some master plan that even he doesn't fully understand.

In this summer's episodes, Earl has worked to create a connection between Grace and a young addict named Neely (Yaani King – The Prince & Me), whose life may eventually be in Grace's hands. While trying to figure out Earl's plans, Grace has also provided firm support for her best friend, criminalist Rhetta Rodriguez (Laura San Giacomo – Just Shoot Me), who is emotionally despondent over losing her family home and catching her husband in an affair.

Grace's circle also includes her admiring nephew, Clay (Dylan Minnette – Prison Break); her boss and friend, Kate Perry (Lorraine Toussaint – Any Day Now); and her fellow detectives, Butch Ada (Bailey Chase – Las Vegas) and Bobby Stillwater (Gregory Cruz – Criminal Minds).

For its first season in 2007, SAVING GRACE ranked as ad-supported cable's #1 new series of the year in delivery of viewers and households. Over its three seasons to date, the show has averaged 4.1 million viewers. This summer, SAVING GRACE has performed well among DVR users, scoring 33% growth among viewers and 34% growth among adults 25-54 when comparing Live to Live + 7 deliveries.

Recommendations: One of the few TV on DVD that is a must for me. Family Guy is just a show that I can watch over and over again. I love it!

Everwood (The Complete Second Season)

Burn Notice (Season 2)

Synopsis: Covert intelligence operative Michael Westen has been punched, kicked, choked and shot. Now he's being burned, and someone's going to pay! When Michael receives a "burn notice," blacklisting him from the intelligence community and compromising his very identity, he must track down a faceless nemesis without getting himself killed in the process. Meanwhile, Michael is forced to double as a private investigator on the dangerous streets of Miami in order to survive.
This new season follows Westen as he takes on all new death-defying assignments in hopes of getting closer to his new employers, the people that were possibly responsible for his ousting. Joining the cast this season is Tricia Helfer ("Battlestar Gallactica") as Carla, the woman who may be behind Michael's "burn notice."

Recommendations: Burn Notice is one of USA's great TV shows, so if you have missed season 2, here is your chance to catch up and find out if Michael finally discovers who put a burn notice on him.

Saving Grace (Season 2)

New TV on DVD Releases for the Week of June 16 2009

I have to admit, I'm not generally a fan of cop dramas, particularly those with strong female leads (In this case Holly Hunter). Nothing against my own sex or anything, I guess I just feel like if you've seen one, you seen them all. This is what's always kept me from watching TNT's SAVING GRACE... well... until today.

I had the chance to watch an early copy of Episode 1 "We're Already Here" of Season 3, which premiers tomorrow, June 16th at 10pm. First, for anyone that is a fan of the show, I have to put my hands in the air and admit that I was wrong. This isn't just a cop drama with a strong female lead. For starters, Grace (Holly Hunter) is way flawed! I'm talking, smoking, drinking, having wanton "relations" flawed. Second, she's visited by an angel. And here's what I like: the angel is flawed too! I also like that it's not all in your face with religion. She's just your average cop with some personal problems trying to earn some brownie points with the big guy upstairs, by helping out her angel buddy Earl (Leon Rippy). I can dig that.

Okay, so let's talk about the episode. As you know, Season 2 ended with Leon Cooly's execution and Grace having dreams of Neely. Neely, we think, also has been having encounters with Earl. In the premier, Grace pays a visit to Neely, only it doesn't quite go as she plans. It's a pretty big mess actually. Earl gives Grace a sort of ambiguous warning that left me scratching my head. Grace also makes a big confession to Ham and then almost instantly seems to regret it. Finally, Ham and Grace get caught red handed and have to answer for their actions. There is also a sub-plot developing regarding a possible terrorist group, and Grace finds herself in the center of it all. If you are a fan of the show, I think you are going to be happy with the way Season 3 kicks off. If you aren't a fan of the show, check it out anyway, you may be pleasantly surprised like me

This new TNT series, the network's first-ever unscripted drama, comes from producing giants Mark Burnett Productions and DreamWorks Television. The show gives deserving couples a helping hand to ensure the most important day of their lives is also the most magical. Jada Pinkett Smith (The Women, The Matrix trilogy) is the latest talented actress to join TNT's line-up of strong, complex female characters, following in the footsteps of Kyra Sedgwick on The Closer and Holly Hunter of Saving Grace. In this character-driven medical drama, Pinkett Smith plays Christina Hawthorne, a compassionate and headstrong Chief Nursing Officer heading up a group of dedicated nurses at Richmond Trinity Hospital who spend long days and nights on the hospital's front lines. Hawthorne is the kind of nurse you want on your side when you or someone you love is in the hospital. She is the kind of nurse who fights for her patients and doesn't let them slip through the cracks. When necessary, she takes on doctors and administrators who are overworked, distracted or just unable to see the human being behind the hospital chart.
Joining Pinkett Smith in HAWTHORNE is Michael Vartan (Alias) as Dr. Tom Wakefield, the oncologist who treated Christina's husband and who serves as director of medicine for the hospital. When the squad tries to figure out what combination landed Sayre’s best friend in a coma, they discover that some of the drugs contained a potentially deadly substance. Grace’s temporary partner, Abby (special guest star Christina Ricci), proves herself quite resourceful in getting good leads on the case. But she doesn’t know everything, and Grace isn’t about to let her forget that fact.

SAVING GRACE "Do You Believe in Second Chances?" (Season 2 Episode 9)

Tonight on SAVING GRACE we get a very special guest appearance by the legendary Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys' coach Barry Switzer. And judging from the clip below, Grace is a fan.

I didn't follow season one of Saving Grace too closely, but so far I am really liking season two. I haven't missed one episode yet. Plus I really enjoy the new dynamic of Grace and Ham's relationship.

Episode Synopsis: "Do You Love Him?" - The door to Grace’s Porsche gets knocked off when a drunk driver slams into it, the impact letting loose thousands of dollars in cash that had been hidden by a previous owner. Among the owners questioned is legendary Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys football coach Barry Switzer, guest-starring as himself. The investigation eventually entails a murdered highway patrol officer and a wealthy developer. Meanwhile, Ham’s little brother Ralph disappears in Afghanistan hitting the entire squad firmly in the gut. And Ham’s older brother, Nick, expresses strong disapproval of Grace just as Ham decides it’s time to ask her out on a real date.

SAVING GRACE - "Do You Love Him?" ( S02E05) Pictures and Video

SAVING GRACE returns tonight, July 14, on TNT at 10pm.

I know all you fans of the show out there have been waiting impatiently to find out what happens next. And the fact that last season ended on a pretty intense cliffhanger adds even more excitement.

Well, we do find out what happened to Father Murphy after the screen went black, but unfortunately you're going to have to tune in to find out. I will tell you this, it's good!

Holly Hunter is an exceptionally talented actress and she proves once more in this episode why we love to watch her so much.

Without spoiling the episode too much, I can tell you that there is a crime to solve, and some unresolved issues to face.

Unfortunately, we still don't know what the deal about Earl is, but for some reason not knowing makes it that much more fascinating. And Leon Rippy brings such a feeling of calm and peace to Earl, it's hard not want to be around him.

One person that is missing in action in the episode is Leon Cooley, but from what I have been told, he will be back this season with a whole new attitude.

Overall, I found the first episode of season two really strong. We get right back into the action and continue to follow the journey of Grace Hanadarko. And let me tell you, the journey doesn't get any easier (at least not from the look of the season premiere).
