I usually am not a big fan of celebrity kids riding on their parent's coatails but in this case, I am glad that an exception was made.

Last episode "Identity Theft" showed that she definitely had the acting chops of her parents. She has a certain vulnerability that translates into a powerful performance. All and all, I can't wait to see this episode

Episode Synopsis: THE CLOSER "Smells Like Murder" Season 5 Episode 10 - A large box with a body stuffed inside leads Brenda in search of suspects, and she winds up with several suspects: a scripture-thumping stepfather, a disgruntled ex-girfriend, a buddy who was constantly being hit up for money and a landlord who simply hated the victim’s guts. Gabriel is studying for the detective exam, so Brenda uses the case as a teaching tool. Meanwhile, Brenda’s niece, Charlie (Sosie Bacon), pulls a stunt so severe, she and Fritz are ready to put her on a plane home immediately.

THE CLOSER "Strike Three" Season 5 Episode 7

I just saw an advance copy of the new THE CLOSER "Tapped Out" (Season 5 Episode 6) airing Monday, July 13 at 9/8c on TNT. In "Tapped Out", the team investigates the death of a reality show “pick-up artist” about to roll out a new TV show. Things go downhill when a police impersonator steals the evidence in the case and conducts his own investigation. **SPOILER ALERT** The funny part is that he steals the evidence from none other than Chief Pope, Provenza and Flynn.

It was a funny episode as it revolves mostly around the team trying to undo the mess caused by the impersonator. This leads to some pretty funny moments with Brenda and her team always finding themselves a step behind the impostor. Imagine being a cop arriving to inform the family of the deceased, only to find out that another "cop" has beat you to the punch. Now imagine that this happens at every stage of the investigation. Welcome to the world of police impersonation.

Overall this is an entertaining episode with a classic killer ending. Man, I love this show.

THE CLOSER "Products of Discovery" (Season 5 Episode 1)

I was fortunate enough to get an early look of the first episode of Season 5 of THE CLOSER "Products of Discovery".

In this episode, Brenda is investigating a quadruple murder while dealing with Provenza being in a pissy mood.

If I am to be honest, there is really not much to say about this episode aside from the fact that it was good but not great. Granted, a good "The Closer" episode is better than the grand majority of the shows on TV. But still as season premieres go, this one was a little blah for me.

The investigation in itself was alright but the characters in the story were much more compelling. Overall, it is a good episode worth watching.

Note: Kudos to the actor who plays the father of the victims. He has very emotional scenes that he delivers wonderfully. I know I have seen him in other shows but I can't remember where. I looked everywhere for his name but I can't find it. If anyone can help me with that, I would greatly appreciate it

HAWTHORNE – New series to launch Tuesday, June 16, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)

Jada Pinkett Smith (The Women, The Matrix trilogy) is the latest talented actress to join TNT's line-up of strong, complex female characters, following in the footsteps of Kyra Sedgwick on The Closer and Holly Hunter of Saving Grace. In this character-driven medical drama, Pinkett Smith plays Christina Hawthorne, a compassionate and headstrong Chief Nursing Officer heading up a group of dedicated nurses at Richmond Trinity Hospital who spend long days and nights on the hospital's front lines. Hawthorne is the kind of nurse you want on your side when you or someone you love is in the hospital. She is the kind of nurse who fights for her patients and doesn't let them slip through the cracks. When necessary, she takes on doctors and administrators who are overworked, distracted or just unable to see the human being behind the hospital chart.

TNT 2009 Summer TV Schedule

After seeing an early release of the first 2009 episode THE CLOSER "Good Faith", I wanted to share some thoughts on it.

Before I get into this further , let me be upfront with you by stating that I will not reveal how last year's The Closer episode cliffhanger unfolds as we promised the network not to reveal major plot points.

With that said, I took away a few things from this episode that make me think that this season will be memorable.

First, Brenda and Fritz are still going strong but at the same time, I feel that Brenda is not following Fritz down the marriage path as willingly as she claims. It's like when you are walking with somebody and although you are walking together, you get the sense that they are dragging their feet. It seems to me that there is a real reluctance on Brenda's part here and this episode will reveal one part of why that is the case. It will be interesting to see how that gets resolved.

Second, the investigation in "Good Faith" was classic awesomeness. As a procedural junkie, I particularly appreciate the ruthless efficiency of Brenda and her team in solving murders. How they nailed this one was nothing short of brilliant. I can't wait to see how the remaining investigations get resolved.

Finally, I want to give a special shout out to J.K. Simmons (Asst. Police Chief Will Pope) who is the most hard working actor I know. I mean, he is like everywhere, whether it is on TV or movies. I am looking forward to seeing more of him in the remaining season 4 episodes of The Closer.

Overall this was a fantastic beginning episode for the year. Don't forget to watch The Closer when it returns Monday, January 26 at 9pm on TNT. And of course, once you've seen it, come back to share your thoughts.

THE CLOSER "Good Faith" Review (Season 4 Episode 11)

Brenda and her team are on another case this week, and it looks like Fritz is helping her out on this one.

I just loved how last episode ended with Fritz telling Brenda to set a date for the wedding, and so I'm really curious to find out how they work on this together.

THE CLOSER "Time Bomb" (S4E10)

This new episode of THE CLOSER “Sudden Death” was by far one of the best of the season. There are so many great things about this episode that I have decided to write the top 5 things I love about “Sudden Death”. So, without further ado, here are the top 5 things I love the “Sudden Death” episode:

1. This episode showcases the acting chops of Raymond Cruz who plays Detective Julio Sanchez. For the first time in The Closer, he is given the opportunity to show his range as an actor and really makes us feel for his character in a very deep way. Seriously, I never cry when I watch this show but the man made weep like a little girl.

2. The dynamic of the Priority Homicide Division (PHD) is seen here in a new light that emphasizes their unity. It is really heartwarming to see how they care for each other.

3. Kyra Sedgwick is spot on, as usual, in her role of Chief but she also brings her mothering side even further here when she demonstrates how protective she is of her people.

4. The story is poignant because it deals with the murder in a very personal way and you can feel that this time, it is different because it affects one of the PHD members so tragically.

5. I also loved the fact that Kevin Bacon directed this episode and I am convinced that it is his direction that brought this episode to a new level. Not only is he a consummate actor, but he is a brilliant director as well.

You always think that a quality show like The Closer can never outdo itself and then you see episodes like “Sudden Death”. Four Thumbs Up on this one! ( I am counting my feet as well).

THE CLOSER "Sudden Death" (S04E07) Review

Check out some pictures from THE CLOSER' episode 6, "Problem Child" airing this Monday, August 18, at 9pm on TNT. I wonder what new case Brenda and co. are going to be working on this week, especially since it looks like everyone will get to come on the "road trip."

Last week's episode, "Dial M for Provenza," was so great, I don't think I ever laughed as much for any other episode of The Closer. Jennifer Coolidge was a brilliant guest star and I now am a new fan of Provenza. That scene between him and Pope was one of the highlights of the episode for me. And based on this, my expectations are pretty high for this week's episode.
