It's official, IN PLAIN SIGHT has been renewed for a third season by USA. The third season will consist of 16 episodes.

This is a great news for all the fans of the show and I admit that I wouldn't mind seeing more of Mary and Marshall for an additional season.

IN PLAIN SIGHT "In My Humboldt Opinion" (Season 2 Episode 2)

Tonight, we got to see the second season premiere of IN PLAIN SIGHT, "Gilted Lily."

Aren't you glad to have Mary and Marshall back? I am. However, I must confess that I wasn't as excited about this premiere as I hoped I would. The episode was good, but only good enough for a middle of the season episode. I was expecting more for the season premiere.

The good news is we did get some great guest stars. Liza Weil ("Gilmore Girls") and Will Estes ("American Dreams") starred as siblings in the witness protection program, who become suspects in the death of their mother.

We also got some new blood in the office, which didn't seem to please Mary too much, not that I can blame her.

The bad news is Mary's boring mother and sister are still in the picture, and I still can't find it in me to care about their storyline.

Overall, I am just glad the show is back, but I do hope we'll get to see some more drama, especially some Mary/Marshall drama.

Synopsis: In Plain Sight stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal attached to the highly secretive Federal Witness Protection Program (WITSEC). While Mary loves her job, she knows better than anyone that it's not easy leading a double life—especially since getting shot at on a regular basis is all in a day's work.
Mary Shannon, who is based in the greater Albuquerque/Santa Fe area, protects and manages relocated Federal Witnesses who come from all over the country. The witnesses under her care can be anything from career criminals, congenital liars, thieves and murderers to those who have had the misfortune of witnessing or falling victim to a crime. For the innocents, testifying means leaving behind everything and everyone they know, cutting off all contact, changing identities and relocating to the unfamiliar southwest to build a new life as the reward for their good deed. But no matter what walk of life—or what side of the law—these people come from, they all have one thing in common: Someone wants them dead.
Luckily, Mary doesn't have to bear the burden of this huge responsibility alone. Along with her partner, Marshall Mann (Fred Weller) who couldn't be more her polar opposite, Mary helps her witnesses establish new lives—with varying degrees of success or satisfaction on the witnesses' part—while protecting them from a myriad of threats ranging from people seeking revenge or trying to thwart the course of justice to the traumas of everyday life. While Mary and Marshall spend a good portion of their time bantering and disagreeing about most things, they make a great team that always gets the job done.
Even with all the risk and stress inherent in Mary's job, she sometimes finds it easier to be working than dealing with her personal life, which is already complicated by the fact that her family and friends can't know the true nature of her work for the safety of everyone involved. Keeping a false front isn't exactly a cakewalk when her co-dependant mother, Jinx (Lesley Ann Warren) and equally co-dependant younger sister, Brandi (Nichole Hiltz), are living under her roof. Jinx has never held down a job and is rarely ever seen without a drink in her hand. Brandi is slightly more ambitious. Unfortunately, the driving ambition that brought her to Albuquerque was the desire to sell a suitcase full of crystal meth for her mysterious boyfriend, Chuck. But Mary's on-again off-again boyfriend, Raphael Ramirez (Cristián de la Fuente), gets the rawest deal of all because after Mary's job and family, there's not too much left of her to go around—or at least, that's the trump card Mary relies on whenever Raph tries to get too close.

Recommendations: In Plain Sight is another great show that is part of USA Network's successful programs. The relationship between Marshall (who is a Marshall, Ha!) and Mary only makes it worth watching this.

The IT Crowd (The Complete First Season)

Synopsis: The IT Crowd is set in the offices of Reynholm Industries, a fictitious British corporation in central London. It focuses on the shenanigans of the three-strong IT support team located in a dingy, untidy and unkempt basement — a stark contrast to the shining modern architecture and stunning London views enjoyed by the rest of the organisation. The obscurity surrounding what the company does serves as a running gag throughout the series — all that is known is that the company bought and sold ITV (a fact which Denholm Reynholm forgot completely,) and once made part-year profits of "eighteen hundred billion billion". The team consists of what Douglas Reynholm describes as "a dynamic go-getter (Jen), a genius (Moss) and a man from Ireland (Roy)".
Moss and Roy, the two technicians, are portrayed as socially inept geeks or, in Denholm Reynholm's words, "standard nerds". Despite the company's dependence on their services, they are despised, ignored, and considered losers by the rest of the staff. Roy's exasperation is reflected in his support techniques of ignoring the phone in the hope it will stop ringing, and using reel-to-reel tape recordings of stock IT suggestions ("Have you tried turning it off and on again?" and "Are you sure it's plugged in?"). Moss's wide and intricate knowledge of all things technical is reflected in his extremely accurate yet utterly indecipherable suggestions, while demonstrating a complete inability to deal with practical problems like extinguishing fires and removing spiders.
Jen, the newest member of the team, is hopelessly non-technical, despite claiming on her CV that she has "a lot of experience with computers". As Denholm, the company boss, is equally tech-illiterate, he's convinced by Jen's interview bluffing and appoints her head of the IT department. Her official title is "relationship manager", yet her attempts at bridging the gulf between the technicians and the business generally have the opposite effect, landing Jen in situations just as ludicrous as those of her team-mates. Recommendations: I haven't actually seen this, and didn't even know about it to be perfectly honest, but I'm always open to finding out about new shows.

Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Season 4, Vol. 1)

Synopsis: As this ground-breaking action-adventure series went into its final season, the unparalleled genius of producer Irwin Allen kicked into creative overdrive, resulting in some of the greatest science-fiction television of all time. Recommendations: Other than the fact we are currently having a giveaway for this DVD, I feel like I don't know enough of the old TV shows and am always looking for new ones to start watching.

Hope & Faith (Season 1)

Synopsis: Faith Ford played a homemaker with a husband and three children. Kelly Ripa played her sister, a soap opera star whose character was killed off, leading her to move in with Hope's family.

Cast: Faith Ford, Kelly Ripa, Ted McGinley

Recommendations: Well, I honestly don't even remember this airing on TV. And even though I'm not going to go out of my way to watch it, if by any chance it was on TV one day, I might watch one episode, just because I'm curious.
