Allison Mack returns to SMALLVILLE for Season 8

The Ausiello Report has reported that Allison Mack will be returning to SMALLVILLE for its eighth season.

This is definitely a good news, especially since we know that Michael Rosenbaum and Kristen Kreuk won’t be returning as regulars next season. Can you imagine no Chloe either? That would have been a disaster.

SMALLVILLE - “Arctic” (S07E20) Pictures and Video

Lex finally finds out Clark’s secret on tonight’s finale of SMALLVILLE. All I have to say is that although last week’s episode was not that exciting, this week’s calls for some pretty great excitement. I mean come on, a showdown between Lex and Clark, if that’s not what we’ve been waiting for all these years, then I don’t know what is.

Review: SMALLVILLE “Quest” (S07E19)

I don’t really have much to say about last night’s SMALLVILLE except that I cannot wait for the finale.

This week’s episode was ok I guess, but I don’t really feel like too many exciting things happened. I honestly miss Lana.

And even though I do love evil Lex, I just feel they sort of extended his search for the Traveler for too many episodes. Which brings me to next week’s episode, or the finale, where from what I could tell of the preview, it looks like there will be a showdown between Lex and Clark, and I hope they bring it.

Unfortunately, after this season, unless they bring a few new likable characters, next season might just not be as exciting. I mean, we are losing two main characters that I really love, Lana and Lex, and lately there has been rumors that Allison Mack, who plays Chloe, might not be back either, because of issues negotiating her contract (although I’m pretty sure they are going to find a solution by then).

Smallville really needs to step up not only its seventh season finale, but they need to find a way to get us excited for next season as well.

Michael Rosenbaum leaves SMALLVILLE - Official Statement

We have known for a while that Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) wouldn’t be back for Season 8 of SMALLIVLLE, but only recently did Executive Producers Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson; The CW Network; and Warner Bros. Television release a joint statement about the departure of Michael Rosenbaum:

“It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Michael for the past six seasons. He is one of the best actors on television and has never failed to bring a new layer to the character of Lex Luthor in every episode. While Michael won’t be a series regular and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor. Stay tuned.”

SMALLVILLE - “Quest” (S07E19) Pictures and Video

Last week’s episode of SMALLVILLE was really great. It had been a while since I got that excited about an episode. I always love when shows do episodes of what would have happened if a character had never existed. It’s so much fun even if it is a cliché.

In tonight’s episode, “Quest,” Smallville continues to move towards what I think will be a big shocking finale (and let’s be honest, what Smallville finale hasn’t been?). And of course evil Lex is so fascinating to watch. Every episode I keep thinking, “how could he go so wrong, he used to be so good?!”

SMALLVILLE - “Apocalypse” (S07E18) Pictures and Videos

Well now that Lex is totally evil after not only killing his father but the only part of himself that was good, I am curious to find out what’s going to happen in the next episode of SMALLVILLE. This season is for sure a lot darker than we are used to. Not that I am complaining, but where are the days when Smallville was sweet and fun? I do enjoy the fact that they are taking the story where it needs to go. I love that they went all the way in making Lex evil, because in Season 1 you sort of liked the guy, now I’m not really sure, even though I do enjoy watching the character get deeper and deeper into his own evilness. If Smallville ever gets to a showdown between Clark and Lex, I want to be there.

Oh and I can’t believe they killed off Lionel! Big surprise for me, I guess it’s a good thing I try not to read spoilers.

Finally, check out the glasses on Clark in the picture above, we are getting closer and closer to the Superman character we know and love and that is very exciting.

SMALLVILLE - “Sleeper” (S07E17) Pictures and Videos

SMALLVILLE is all new tonight. I haven’t yet caught up on last week’s episode, so I can’t say much about what I am expecting from tonight’s episode, but I am just glad I will get two episodes of Smallville to watch today. It does look like Chloe is getting into trouble, as usual, so I can’t wait to watch it all.
