Lynette Rice, a Senior Writer from Entertainment Weekly, surmised that the Writers' Guild strike was the ultimate reason why shows like JOURNEYMAN were ultimately cancelled. She made that comment while being interviewed on KCRW’s “The Business”, hosted by Claude Brodesser-Akner.

According to Rice, the Writers' strike actually had positive and negative effects for shows that were on “bubble” (ie on the cusp of getting cancelled). On one hand, it saved shows like Dirty Sexy Money from being cancelled and on the other hand, it was the death knell for shows like Cane or Journeyman.

JOURNEYMAN: Why NBC Cancelled It

E!Online has announced the dreadful news today, JOURNEYMAN is cancelled.

It might not have appealed to a lot of people, but I really enjoyed Journeyman and thought it was a quality TV show. All we can hope for now is that NBC airs the final two episodes as scheduled December 17 and 19.

When a new student, Albert (guest star Kwame Boateng), enrolls at Corleone, Chris realizes that he has a lot more in common with Albert than just being the only two African American kids in school. Unfortunately, Albert makes more enemies than friends, including Greg (Vincent Martella) who warns Chris to stay far away from Albert. Meanwhile, Julius (Terry Crews) and Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) get an unexpected IRS refund check in the mail, but Julius is too afraid to spend any of the money in case the IRS decides to take the money back from them.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Nemesis" - 8pm NBC
It’s Thanksgiving and Chuck’s (Zachary Levi) nemesis, Bryce Larkin (Matthew Bomer), returns to his life after being ruled dead earlier in Chuck’s life. Secret internal committees trying to destroy the “intersect,” now better known as Chuck’s brain, saved Bryce in hopes he would be able to help them locate it. Bryce needs Chuck to help prove to Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), Casey (Adam Baldwin) and the rest of the CIA that he is not rogue. Upon seeing Bryce and Sarah back together, former lovers and partners, Chuck grows jealous and doubts any future with Sarah. Meanwhile, Buy More is prepping for the biggest shopping day of the year and Morgan (Joshua Gomez) is left in charge to ensure all runs well.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Junior Prank" - 8:30pm the CW
Justin (Dan Byrd) and Raja (Adhir Kalyan) are excited when they are asked to participate in the annual Junior Prank. The plan is to flood the teachers’ lounge, but Raja finds the idea too destructive and convinces Justin to sabotage the prank. When they accidentally flood the football field instead, they incur the wrath of the entire school. Meanwhile, Gary (Scott Patterson) tries to make up for losing his job by getting all the money possible out of his alpacas, and recruits Claire (Lindsey Shaw) to care for them. Finally, Franny (Amy Pietz) tries to earn more money by selling most of the family’s possessions on Craig’s List.

HEROES "Truth & Consquences" - 9pm NBC
Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) travels to Primatech Paper in Texas with his new friend to destroy the virus, which will kill 93% of the world’s population in the future -- or so he believes. Niki (Ali Larter) returns to Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) with bad news. To right a wrong, Monica (Dana Davis) puts her abilities to the test. Hiro (Masi Oka) goes after his father’s killer. Meanwhile, Matt (Greg Grunberg) uses his mental abilities to track down the last person in the Company photo. Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) learns his brother is alive. Outside of New York, Maya (Dania Ramirez) must choose between Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto).

Meanwhile, Katie gets into a deadly predicament when the kidnapper seeks revenge.

THE BOONDOCKS "Shinin' " - 11:30pm Adult Swim
After much begging and pleading, Riley is initiated into his hero Thugnificient Lethal Injection crew. When a local bully jacks his ice, Riley turns to Macktastic, Flominal and Ed III for advice on how to retaliate.

Meanwhile, Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) and Julius (Terry Crews) are at a loss to explain why Drew (Tequan Richmond) is failing a class until they meet his new teacher (guest star Eva Marcelle, “America’s Next Top Model”).

CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Imported Hard Salami" - 8pm NBC
Chuck (Zachary Levi) starts dating Lou (Rachel Bilson), a sandwich maker, and things seem to be going really well. This incites some jealousy on the behalf of Chuck’s “ex-girlfriend”, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), as she may be discovering that her feelings were not all just a cover. However, things seem to get complicated when Lou is discovered to be a part of a smuggling group. Is the relationship with Chuck another phony or is this relationship for real? Meanwhile, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) starts developing a new relationship with an unlikely girl.

HOW I MET YOU MOTHER "Spoiler Alert" - 8pm CBS
This is why How I Met Your Mother is so great, they integrate pop culture references into their show - this episode's title "spoiler alert". What better way to attract viewers? Oh and even my mom loves Barney, so yeah, one of the best comedy TV show on TV.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates Houseguests" - 8pm the CW
What probably appeals to most people about Everybody Hates Chris is that it's a TV show about family. No matter how crazy Rochelle and Julius get, they love their children and do everything for them. Plus they're funny, so that's a winner.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus the Truth" - 8pm NBC
I have been mentioning how excited I am about Rachel Bilson making her first appearance in tonight's episode of Chuck. It's going to add more tension between Chuck and Sarah, which we need because I'm getting a little tired of them playing around the "will they, won't they" theme. PRISON BREAK "Bang and Burn" - 8pm FOX
Oh Frak! Is what I thought when I saw last week's Prison Break ending. My friend told me I needed to watch Prison Break right away. I wasn't able to actually watch it until Wednesday, but by that time I was really curious. At first, I didn't see what the big deal was until the very last minute. At that point I was like "oh shit"... I did not see that one coming... frakking Whistler! My only advice to him is don't mess with Michael Scofield or you'll regret it.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Purple Heart" - 8:30pm the CW
Another family comedy. I cannot express my love for Aliens in America enough. It's such a well-executed and funny show. Raja becomes more and more part of the family and you realize how normal he is compared to them. Hilarious! I cannot recommend it enough, and you don't really need to watch it from the beginning to enjoy it, so turn your TV on and watch Aliens in America tonight.

HEROES "Four Months Ago" - 9pm NBC
So Heroes... I could talk about all the things I don't like about Heroes, but I think I'll focus on what I expect from tonight's episode. For starter, it would be great if we got some explanations to what the frak happened to Peter and in a way Nathan. Apart from that, some crazy fight scenes and a cliffhanger would be nice too. Come on, I'm not asking much...

JOURNEYMAN "Winterland" - 10pm NBC
I keep saying that I really like Journeyman, and I do, but I haven't been able to watch the last two episodes yet. So not much to say about it except that I'm going to record it and I still am curious about the whole Livia storyline.

HOW I MET YOU MOTHER "Dowisetrepla" - 8pm CBS
From the title of the episode I am already expecting something crazy to happen in tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother. How do they come up with these stories every week? The writers have so many original ideas, what will we do without them... while they're on strike?! This is when you realize who is really bringing the money in! And this is exactly why they deserve their share of the benefit.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates Bed-Stuy" - 8pm the CW
Sweet Chris who always gets in trouble, even when it's not his fault. Everybody Hates Chris is such a sweet show and you can pretty much start watching it whenever and still understand what is going on. If only to see Julius and Rochelle be themselves, this TV show is worth watching.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Alma Mater" - 8pm NBC
Chuck is getting sweeter and sweeter and you can totally see that Sarah is starting to fall for him, then again who wouldn't? And the good news is I am actually up to date with Chuck!

PRISON BREAK "Photo Finish/Vamonos" - 8pm FOX
We get a full two-hours of Prison Break tonight so set your DVRs accordingly. It's nice to have Michael Scofield back. It also looks like we are getting closer and closer to them breaking out... actually I don't really know, but I'm hoping. They are bound to get out sometime, right? And when they do, there is going to be hell to pay for Sara's death.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Homecoming" - 8:30pm the CW
My favorite TV show, ok not my favorite, but I love it! Every week I look forward to watching Aliens in America. With The Office and How I Met Your Mother, I think they are the only three comedies I get really excited about watching every week. If you haven't watched Aliens in America yet, trust me I didn't feel like watching it at first, but now I love it, so give it a shot.

HEROES "Out Of Time" - 9pm NBC
If you have listened to our podcast, then you probably know how I feel about Heroes. After always watching every episode on the night they air, tonight is going to be the first night I'm going to hold off on watching Heroes. I just feel like they are TV shows that have better episodes that I could be watching instead of Heroes. Until they pick up the show and bring it back to what it was in season one, Heroes will not be watched live anymore.

JOURNEYMAN "Double Down" - 10pm NBC
I haven't watched last week's episode yet, but the last episode I did watch, I really liked. I just loved the part where [spoiler if you haven't seen the episode] Dan's son sees him disappear. The whole time I was like, "just tell the son, if there is anyone that would actually believe all of this, it's the kid." It was such a cute moment when he tells Dan in the end that he saw him. I actually felt it was a great way to move the story along. [end spoiler] I still say Journeyman is a TV show worth watching.

THE BOONDOCKS - 11:30pm Adult Swim
And last but certainly not least, The Boondocks are also on tonight. Who could forget those sweet... wait no that's not the right word,... nice... no still doesn't feel right, ador... ok fine I give up... let's just say who could forget Riley and Huey? Count on them to give you a breath of "fresh air" every episode.

Mondays and Barney! It's always exciting to come home with your DVR waiting to show you the next new revolutionary theory of Barney. I mean come on, the Hot/Crazy Scale, I still can't get over how awesome that was. I wonder how crazy I would rate on it...

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates the Bachelor Pad" - 8pm the CW
Not Everybody Hates Chris, we at Daemon's TV love Chris and love watching his TV show. The CW has some funny sitcoms, definitely worth checking out. Namely Everybody Hates Chris and Aliens In America.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus the Sandworm" - 8pm NBC
Hello Chuck! The more I watch Chuck, the better it gets. It started out with a great pilot, then it lost its direction a little bit, but I think it's gradually finding it. So far I haven't had one moment when I wanted to stop watching, so that's a pretty good sign.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Help Wanted" - 8:30pm the CW
I am so excited that Aliens in America is on tonight. This is going to be so much fun. I saw the previews and Raja is getting a job and let's just say it's pretty interesting...

HEROES "The Line" - 9pm NBC
Please, please, please, let Heroes be good tonight, I can't take it anymore. I get so hyped up for it every week thinking this time it's going to be OMG good, but it never is. They need to find their mojo again or something because they have so much potential with all the great new characters they introduced in Season 2. I'm crossing my fingers.

JOURNEYMAN "Keepers" - 10pm NBC
This is one of the TV shows I am a little behind with, meaning I still haven't watched last week's episode... I blame Malcolm in the Middle reruns, Torchwood, and Supernatural... but more about that later. I still enjoy Journeyman very much.

THE BOONDOCKS - 11:30pm Adult Swim
The Boondocks are on tonight. They bring their own kind of outrageousness on TV, I just realized that there isn't another TV show quite like this one. Which is probably why I love it so much.

HOW I MET YOU MOTHER "How I Met Everyone Else" - 8pm CBS
Yay, some laughs coming my way and I need them. What new "trick" will Barney come up with tonight. I am happy that Ted and Robin aren't together anymore, not that I didn't like them, but there is so much more fun stuff they can do now.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates Blackie" - 8pm the CW
Oh poor Chris, he never gets a break does he. It's one of the reasons why Everybody Hates Chris is such a fun TV show. Julius (Terry Crews) is such a funny father, he does some of the craziest things and Rochelle (Tichina Arnold), don't mess with her. You should definitely give this TV show a shot if you haven't already.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Sizzling Shrimp" - 8pm NBC
Oh dear Chuck. How endearing is he? I just cannot wait for the day where Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) find out about what's going on in Chuck's life, that's going to be interesting. Also don't forget to check out our spotlight feature on the leading ladies from Chuck, Sarah Lancaster (Ellie Bartowski) and Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Walker).

PRISON BREAK "Interference" - 8pm FOX
Prison Break is back after a week off. We will get to see more of the aftermath from Sarah's death, hopefully. I cannot wait until Michael finds out, I know it's horrible, but it's going to bring so much more drama, 'cause you know he's going after her killers.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "The Metamorphosis" - 8:30pm the CW
My new favorite comedy show. I am so excited to see a new episode tonight. Aliens in America is one of the TV shows I find myself looking forward to the most. What will Raja do this week? You can read my review from last week's episode of Aliens in America, "Rocket Club" here.

HEROES "Fight Or Flight" - 9pm NBC
YES! Kristen Bell's night is finally here! You know I am starting to wonder if I am not getting my hopes up for this episode and will end up being very disappointed. JOURNEYMAN "The Legend of Dylan McCleen" - 10pm NBC
Where is Dan heading tonight? It's always fun to see how he adapts to the past. I keep trying to imagine what it must feel like to go back to 1950... I still have no idea. I'm really hoping we get at least some answers as to Livia's backstory. I mean, ok she can do what Dan does, but she does seem to know a lot more than he does, so what's the deal?

THE BOONDOCKS "Thank You For Not Snitching" - 11:30pm Adult Swim
Riley and Huey Freeman are back tonight. Those kids are great. You can also read the comic on the Adult Swim website I found out. You have to give it a shot. You might be interested to learn that it's pretty political, which I love.

On Tonight, Monday 10/22: HEROES, ALIENS IN AMERICA, and more...

To make things easier, how about we go day by day. Oh and as always, there might be some spoilers.

SUNDAY (Not this Sunday, last Sunday)

BROTHERS & SISTERS - I am so glad Justin is back. I find myself liking his story more than the others. It absolutely broke my heart that he was in such a pain, but I'm glad he finally decided to take some painkillers. I am thinking that this could lead to an interesting dynamic for the Walkers... like they really need it.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - I wasn't too excited at the start of the season, but boy am I excited now. I feel like everybody is coming alive again and this week is bound to be interesting again with the new gay neighbors and an appearance by Danielle.

MONDAY

CHUCK - I am liking Chuck more and more every week. He is such a likable character and I feel that we are getting some direction for the show little by little. In addition, check out our Spotlight feature on the two lead females from Chuck, Sarah Lancaster (Ellie Bartowski) and Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Walker).

HEROES - I still like Heroes, but I think that it has been dragging on a little bit, between Peter in Ireland, Nikki being sort of MIA, and Hiro's story getting a little boring, I am starting to wonder where all this is going. The good news is that tomorrow we get our first look at Elle (Kristen Bell). I do have to say that the one exciting part of last week's Heroes was Sylar meeting Maya and Alejandro, I want to see where this is going. Don't forget to check out two clips and a preview from tomorrow's episode of Heroes, "Fight or Flight."

ALIENS IN AMERICA - I mentioned how much I loved the last episode of Aliens in America. You can read my thoughts on Aliens in America here.

JOURNEYMAN - I never have much to say about Journeyman, but that's mostly because I just really like it. I do wish we would start to find out a little more about Livia.

TUESDAY

REAPER - Reaper is my sweetheart. It makes me smile when I think about it. If I remember well, this last episode, "Magic," was pretty fun with the cute birdie turning into a sort of monster, now that was pretty cool. I have only love for Reaper.

CARPOOLERS - Even though Carpoolers is not the funniest show out there, I find myself really liking it. It just has some funny moments and the car scenes are pretty hilarious.

WEDNESDAY

PUSHING DAISIES - My new feel-good TV show. Even when I am having an off-day, all I need is some Pushing Daisies to put a smile back on my face. Who can resist Lee Pace and Anna Friel? If you're not watching Pushing Daisies yet, you are missing out big time, trust me.

BIONIC WOMAN - Dammit, I still haven't watched the last episode, "Faceoff." I did see the one before that and I will stick with Bionic Woman for now. I think Michelle Ryan (Jaimie Sommers) and Katee Sackhoff (Sarah Corvus) have a lot to do with why I enjoy watching Bionic Woman.

GOSSIP GIRL - So I still enjoy Gossip Girl. Yeah, it's not really realistic and it has cheesy moments, but it satisfies my cheesiness needs.

THURSDAY

SMALLVILLE - Dean Cain (Lois and Clark) as a guest star in "Cure." Not too shabby. Oh how I loved watching Lois and Clark when I was young, and it was so fun to see Dean Cain in Smallville even though he wasn't Superman.

UGLY BETTY - Again, one word for you, James Van Der Beek... yeah, yeah I know it's four words. I wish James Van Der Beek would become a recurring character, now how awesome would that be? In addition, it was pretty fun to see Victor Garber as Betty's writing teacher.

THE OFFICE - I think the cutest part of this week's The Office was after Jim goes to comfort Dwight (who is breaking my heart with the whole Angela thing by the way), he comes back up and kisses Pam with that look in his face, you know the one he used to have when he looked at Pam before they got together. It was so adorable. And the whole "I love Italian" thing, my heart melted.

GREY'S ANATOMY - Let me tell you what drove me crazy with this episode of Grey's Anatomy, "The Heart of the Matter." Callie "forgives" George? I'm sorry, what? The man cheated on you, you need to leave him, even if he is your husband. And I don't even really like Callie. Don't even get me started on George. What is wrong with him? I thought he loved Izzie, so why is he sticking around with Callie? Ok, I feel better now. That said I loved the episode, even if I don't agree with what the characters do and it drives me crazy doesn't mean it's not awesome writing. What good show doesn't produce some sort of reactions among its viewers?

FRIDAY

MOONLIGHT - One of the loves of my life, dear Moonlight had what is probably its best episode so far. "Fever" was everything I had hoped for and more. I thought I was gonna scream when Mick got into the bathroom and waited for Beth. The bite was so perfect, I want Mick and Beth to get together so bad now, but you know those "evil" writers will make us wait for it, but they know we love it. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS - This is one of the most amazing TV shows on TV right now. The acting is one of the strongest that I have seen on TV lately and it has some of the greatest writing. Matt Saracen broke my heart in this episode, I feel so bad for him, especially when he had to tell Coach Taylor about the breakup. Tami slapping Julie after catching her making out with the Swede, that was a pretty powerful moment. I am so glad Coach Taylor is coming back to Dillon, things are just getting out of hand without him. I cannot wait for next week.

Wow, that was long. This week I promise I'll try to be better about writing reviews during the week.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates Driving" - 8pm the CW
I love Chris and his family, they are so crazy... and they make me laugh. I have been a fan since the start.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus the Wookie" - 8pm NBC
I haven't been all the way convinced by Chuck even though it does make me laugh, but I liked last week's episode more and am looking forward to Chuck this week.

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Rocket Club" - 8:30pm the CW
I mentioned how much I liked the second episode of Aliens in America in my previous post and now I am so excited to see a new episode. Who would have thought this TV show would make me laugh so much. I love it. Aliens in America got itself a season pass here at Daemon's TV.

HEROES "The Kindness of Strangers" - 9pm NBC
With a first look at Kristen Bell, one of the excitements for tonight's Heroes is that it gets me closer to next week's episode and the first appearance of Kristen Bell's character, Elle. I do hope that the Peter Petrelli's story gets a little more interesting, so far it feels like they are just filling up time.

SAMANTHA WHO "Pilot" - 9:30pm ABC
We get another new show tonight. At this point I have so much to watch already, I am not even excited about watching new shows anymore. I will try to watch the pilot of Samantha Who?, but unless it's really, really good, it probably won't make it on my schedule for now.

JOURNEYMAN "The Year of the Rabbit" - 10pm NBC
One of my favorites, and I am glad to say I am up to date. I still love it and I really hope that the ratings will start to pick up or that NBC will at least give it a full season pick up.

THE BOONDOCKS "Tom, Sarah, and Usher" - 11:30pm Adult Swim
Are you not watching The Boondocks yet? What are you waiting for? It's a great late night break from reality... well sort of.

On Tonight, Monday 10/15: HEROES, JOURNEYMAN, and more...

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER - The whole threesome storyline cracked me up. Especially Barney's desperate look at the end when trying to figure out if Ted did it. "You didn't do it, you didn't do it, you did it, you did it." hahaha
Oh and I loved Robin's line: "If I don't shave I must behave." Now isn't that true.

PRISON BREAK - I have to talk about [SPOILERS] Sara's head in the box, what the frak was that? Did they really have to kill her? I mean, Sara and Michael's relationship was one of the reasons that I liked Prison Break. Even though they didn't touch on it every episode, it was still there. I don't know if this is a deal breaker for me, but I am definitely going to be harder on the show now, it will have to bring it for me to keep tuning in.

ALIENS IN AMERICA - OMG the second episode was so hilarious. I wasn't convinced by Aliens In America after the pilot, but now it's definitely on my schedule. I think I'm even giving Aliens In America a season pass. Scott Patterson is hilarious as the dad.

JOURNEYMAN - Still love that show, Dan is such a likable character and I love watching him going on his "trips."

GOSSIP GIRL - I thought I was ready to give up on Gossip Girl but then I watched the third episode, "Bad News Blair," and all of that changed. It finally felt like things were moving along and I am willing to stick around for a bit.

SMALLVILLE - I am so glad Lana is back, and Lex is back to his old tricks. It feels like Smallville again. Not sure how much I like Kara yet, but I guess I am waiting for her to get a major storyline to shine.

UGLY BETTY - I have to mention the first appearance of Freddy Rodríguez as Giovanni, the new Sandwich guy. How cute is he with Betty. I am smitten. Let's have more of him. On a related not I cannot wait to see James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek) on next week's episode.

Weekly Reviews: GOSSIP GIRL, UGLY BETTY, ALIENS IN AMERICA, and more...

Watch With Kristin has let out the big news that CHUCK, BIONIC WOMAN, JOURNEYMAN, LIFE all received orders for three additional scripts and CANE for four additional scripts.

Even though this doesn't guarantee a full season pick up, it's a good start.

I am mostly excited for Journeyman especially since its ratings are not as good as expected, and Life is also a favorite of mine. Next step, full season pick up. My fingers are crossed.

HOW I MET YOU MOTHER "Third Wheel" - 8pm CBS
One of the shows that makes me laugh the most, How I Met Your Mother has not disappointed me once yet. They always come up with the most original stories, I love it. I still check the Slap Countdown website once in a while (how awesome is that idea by the way?)

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates Caruso" - 8pm the CW
Even though this is one of my favorites, I haven't had a chance to watch the premiere yet. I keep telling you there is just too much to watch. Hopefully I can catch up tomorrow.

CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Tango" - 8pm NBC
I did see last week's episode and it was pretty fun. I am still waiting to see in what direction the show is going, but at least I am entertained and Chuck is an awesome character.

PRISON BREAK "Good Fences" - 8pm FOX
I need Michael to start working on his escape plan now. I am sort of over the whole Sona thing and I need them to start working on the escape part soon. I wonder how Michael will figure this one out. Oh and I still wonder how last season's finale fits into the new season. I still want to know what these scientist looking guys meant by "it's in his blood." ALIENS IN AMERICA "No Man Is An Island" - 8:30pm the CW
Since I liked the pilot ok, I decided to give Aliens in America another chance. Plus I always like having 30 minutes shows in case I don't feel like watching a full-hour show. In addition, it's nice to see Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) in a new show.

HEROES "Kindred" - 9pm NBC
Heroes is back on my list of favorite shows. I absolutely love the Claire storyline and it looks like Micah and Niki are back tonight, it'll be nice to finally now what happened to them. Make sure you check out the first look at Star Trek's Nichelle Nichols here.

JOURNEYMAN "Game Three" - 10pm NBC
One of my new favorites, Journeyman. Where is Dan heading this week? As you know I try to stay away from too many spoilers before watching the episodes just to get the full experience. I haven't even seen a preview for tonight's episode, although I usually watch those. Tonight is a big surprise for me which makes it even more exciting.

THE BOONDOCKS "...Or Die Trying" - 11:30pm Adult Swim
Oh yeah! I missed that show, I actually thought they cancelled it. I am so glad it's back. It's another one of the few cartoons I love. If you haven't seen this show yet, you need to. You can check out the actual The Boondocks comic on Yahoo here. They add a new one everyday, it's really smart and funny.

HOW I MET YOU MOTHER "We're Not From Here" - 8pm CBS
Get ready for more laughs tonight. We get more of Enrique Iglesias as Robin's new boyfriend Gael. And I'm sure Barney has some more tricks up his sleeve for us. Is anybody keeping track of the slap countdown (slapcountdown.com)? I think the slap bet episode will probably go down as one of the best from How I Met Your Mother.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS "Everybody Hates the Guidance Counselor" - 8pm the CW
Chris Rock makes an appearance in tonight's season premiere as the guidance counselor. This show makes me laugh every episode and I wish people talked about it a little more because it is a really good show. It's funny and smart and well acted. CHUCK "Chuck Versus The Helicopter" - 8pm NBC
Did you like last week's premiere of Chuck? Because he is back tonight. Now that Chuck has all these secrets in his head, I wonder what they are going to ask of him now. For sure someone's gonna want to kill him, I guess we'll have to tune in tonight to find out.

PRISON BREAK "Call Waiting" - 8pm FOX
A new Prison Break tonight. It's been three weeks already since it first started, time goes by so fast. Anyway, I'm happy Michael Scofield is back tonight. Is he going to start to plan his escape from Sona? Who will he take with him this time?

ALIENS IN AMERICA "Pilot" - 8:30pm the CW
The CW's new show Aliens in America premieres tonight. I watched the revised version of the pilot on Yahoo!TV. It's an ok show. I don't know if it's going to make it on my regular schedule, but I might watch it here and there if it lasts. Scott Patterson is pretty funny as the dad. It's funny to see him play a different character than Luke on Gilmore Girls.

Story: Justin Tolchuk is a sensitive, lanky 16-year-old just trying to make it through the social nightmare of high school in Medora, Wisconsin, with the help of his well-meaning mom Franny, aspiring-entrepreneur dad Gary , and his popular sister Claire. When Franny signs up for the school's international exchange student program, she pictures an athletic, brilliant Nordic teen who will bestow instant coolness on her outsider son. However, when the Tolchuk's exchange student arrives, he turns out to be Raja Musharaff, a 16-year-old Pakistani Muslim. Despite the cultural chasm between them, Justin and Raja quickly develop an unlikely friendship that just might allow them to navigate the minefield that is contemporary high school.

HEROES "Lizards" - 9pm NBC
Second episode tonight. I hope we learn a little more about what happened to Peter Petrelli. I am so excited Heroes is back. I try really hard not to read too much about it because it's one of the shows I like to get surprised by.

K-VILLE "Bedfellows" - 9pm FOX
With all these shows to watch, K-Ville might not stay on my schedule for long. I don't know if I can keep up. I'm still going to watch tonight's episode but so far if I need to cut down, K-Ville might be one of the shows I cut.

JOURNEYMAN "Friendly Skies" - 10pm NBC
One of my favorite new shows is back tonight. I have already seen tonight's episode (you can read my review here) and needless to say I am still a fan. I am looking forward to watching this show every week. It's my new feel-good show!

THE REST

GIRLFRIENDS "Range of Emotions" - 9pm the CW
Season Premiere tonight. I watched an episode or two of Girlfriends when it was on UPN, but I never found it really funny. Plus I didn't understand the stories since I hadn't watched it from the beginning.

THE GAME "Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Redux" - 9:30pm the CW
Season premiere tonight. This was supposed to be a spinoff from Girlfriends but since I didn't watch Girlfriends, I didn't have an interest in The Game and thus never watched it.

On Tonight, Monday 10/1: HEROES, JOURNEYMAN, and more...

The nice people at NBC were kind enough to send me a screener from the second episode of JOURNEYMAN entitled "Friendly Skies" which airs on Monday.

It's no secret that Journeyman is one of my favorite new shows and after watching the second episode, I can tell you that it's still as good as the first episode if not better. Without giving anything away from the plot let me give you a few of my thoughts.

The second episode picks up where we left off last week with Dan (Kevin McKidd) traveling back in time again in order to help someone new. I really enjoy the way they set up the show. It creates conflict because Dan doesn't know when he will "leave" or when he will come back. This creates some funny situations and some not so funny ones. If you liked the pilot, you're in for a new treat.

The thing that appealed to me about the pilot is the formula, and even though this can be interpreted as a negative word, I use it here positively. What I mean with formula is that Journeyman is constructed in a way that each episode you get a new "mystery" where Dan (Kevin McKidd) travels through time and changes people's lives, which makes it easy for people to just jump in at any point during the season. In addition, you have the overall mystery of why this is happening to him and what really happened to Livia, which rewards people for watching the show every week. If you think about it, this is very close to how Veronica Mars was set-up. Each week she would get a new case and in addition try to solve the overall mystery of the season.

Journeyman has been compared to Quantum Leap, and even though some people look at it as a negative thing, it's one of the reasons I wanted to watch Journeyman in the first place. I have been waiting for a while to see a new show that would excite me as much as Quantum Leap used to. Why not make a new show that uses the same idea and modernize it? Because let's face it, young people watching TV right now have probably never watched Quantum Leap in their lives, so why not bring them a show that will touch them the way Quantum Leap touched me? Isn't that why Hollywood makes so many remakes of old movies?

I would be the first one to criticize Journeyman if it wasn't good, but the thing is, it is good. Kevin McKidd won me over in the first few minutes and I hadn't seen him in anything before that (if you're wondering, I never watched Rome, but now I want to), he makes me want to tune in and find out what new adventures he will be thrown into.

After watching the second episode, I cannot wait to see the third episode and the fourth and the fifth and the... Seriously though, give Journeyman a chance and try to look at it for what it is and not what it reminds you of. Yes, it takes some ideas from previous shows, but which show doesn't take ideas from somewhere else? In fact, I have heard some people say that Heroes took its idea from a comic book called Rising Stars and even though it's not exactly the same story, Rising Stars is about a group of ordinary people who get powers. Reminds you of anything? Doesn't mean Heroes is not one of the most awesome show on TV or that it wasn't just a coincidence. You get my point.

In case you're still not sure, I love Journeyman and really hope that you will tune in to see the second episode. And in order to convince you, let me just tell you there is a pretty funny moment in an airplane in the upcoming episode. Are you convinced?

Early Look: JOURNEYMAN second episode "Friendly Skies"

We all know I loved the pilot of Journeyman (read my review here) and it is officially on my top 5 new TV shows this fall.

I haven't watched the clip yet because I like to keep everything a surprise for when I watch the full episode. But who knows I might not be able to control myself and end up watching it before next week. For those of you who want to watch the clip now, enjoy!

I don't think I can put into words my excitement that How I Met Your Mother is back tonight. Barney is one of my favorite characters on TV. Nobody can make me laugh like he can. He also makes my mom laugh, which is not always easy to do.

CHUCK "Pilot" - 8pm NBC
One of my favorite new shows, Chuck starts tonight. For the record, it already has a season pass with me and I think you're going to love it too. Zachary Levi plays an adorable geek and he will win you over as Chuck. Make sure you tune in.
Story: An action-comedy series about Chuck Bartowski - a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. When Chuck opens an e-mail subliminally encoded with government secrets, he unwittingly downloads an entire server of sensitive data into his brain. Now, the fate of the world lies in the unlikely hands of a guy who works at a Buy More Electronics store. Instead of fighting computer viruses, he must now confront assassins and international terrorists.

PRISON BREAK "Fire/Water" - 8pm FOX

HEROES "Four Months Later..." - 9pm NBC
Oh my Heroes!!! One of the most exciting returns this season, there has been some information out there about the new season, but to be honest I try to stay away from some of it. I like to have some surprises left when I tune in, especially for shows I adore. K-VILLE "Cobb's Web" - 9pm FOX
I will be tuning in to K-Ville tonight to watch the second episode. I am curious to see where the show is going to go. So far I really like the actors, but in order for K-Ville to get a season pass, it will need to bring it.

JOURNEYMAN "Pilot" - 10pm NBC
One of my Top 5 new shows this Fall (for the other 4 click here), I cannot wait for Journeyman to start. Since I have already seen the pilot, the real adventure starts next week for me, but still, it will be nice to see what type of ratings the show will get. THE REST

DANCING WITH THE STARS - 8pm ABC
I have never watched the show and it just doesn't sound that fun to me. Although I do have a friend who started watching it last season (I won't mention his name because he would probably kill me, you know who you are...), but he told me he didn't think he was going to tune in again this season. Jenni Garth (Beverly Hills) is one of the contestants this season, which could make it interesting for some people. Personally, I miss What I Like About You, I wish that would be back.

THE BIG BANG THEORY "Pilot" - 8:30pm CBS
I will not be tuning in for this new CBS show. I have zero interest in it even after seeing the pilot. I would not recommend it. Plus it's taking the spot of The Class which got cancelled. Still bitter about that.
Story: Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love.

TWO AND A HALF MEN "Large Birds, Spiders and Mom" - 9pm CBS
This show is not on my regular schedule, although I have seen it. It does have funny moments, it was just one of those choices I had to make when it first came out. It's great to watch when I'm on the plane and I need something relaxing though. I could watch one episode after another.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT "Flirting With Disaster" - 9:30pm CBS
I have never watched the show and don't know what it's about, but it sounds like it's doing good.

THE BACHELOR - 9:30pm ABC
I have never watched the show and probably never will. It's one of those reality shows that has never appealed to me.

CSI:MIAMI "Dangerous Son" - 10pm CBS
I used to watch this show and loved it. I think I just got tired of it. I will watch it occasionally, but there are just too many alike, I just couldn't take it. I used to watch CSI, CSI:Miami, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Numb3rs, NCIS, and then one day I decided to give all of them up. One reason was because it felt like it was always the same thing, and I needed a break, the second most important reason was because I got tired of watching shows about criminals, I just couldn't take the subject matter anymore, it was too heavy for me.

Fall 2007: Daemon's TV Top 5 and Bottom 5 new TV Shows

Since NBC decided to offer three of its new shows (Chuck, Life, Journeyman) on Blockbuster, I decided to take this opportunity to check them out early.

The first pilot I decided to check out was JOURNEYMAN. I sort of had a special place for Journeyman in my heart because it sounded like Quantum Leap (and we all know how much I loved Quantum Leap). As I was pressing play on my DVD player, I was really hoping that Journeyman was going to be as good as I had hoped for.

Let me tell you, Journeyman is everything I was hoping it would be and more. From the smart writing to the wonderful performances, Journeyman has everything it needs to make it this Fall. Kevin McKidd, who portrays the main character Dan Vasser, has such a presence and vulnerability to him, it's a pleasure to watch him. I can't wait to tune in week after week and see what new adventures he gets into.

I was afraid that there would be holes in the storyline, but turns out they tied it up pretty well. I especially loved a moment at the very end of the pilot [SPOILER ALERT] when Dan finds a way to prove to his wife he is not crazy by leaving a toolbox under the patio of their house with her wedding ring inside, that was probably the smartest writing in a while. It was smart, believable, made sense, and didn't leave any questions open. [END OF SPOILER]

The verdict - Journeyman has officially made my Fall 2007 TV shows list. I love it. I definitely recommend it. Out of all the new TV shows I have seen so far, this is one of my favorite. NBC really brought it this Fall.
