DEXTER Panel Video Comic Con 2008

The LOST panel had quite a surprise for us when Matthew Fox came on stage to join Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. And since they were giving away gifts to people who asked questions, Matthew Fox actually signed the Jack doll they were giving away. How cool of him.

Moving on to some of the revelations for the season of Lost to come:

- There will be a story about Rousseau.

- Turns out the writers on the show don't know everything, but they know more than you and me that's for sure.

- For those of you worried about Vincent the dog, well he's still around.

- Daniel has a notebook where he wrote things that are going to happen in the future. This is going to be more prominent in Season 5. They will also explain how he knows all of that.

- When Season 5 starts, we won't know when or where we are.

- When asked how old and how many toes Richard Alpert has, we were told that we would find out in the very near future (pun intended). There is also mention of Richard Alpert appearing barefoot in a future episode.

LOST News Comic Con 2008

During our crazy trip at Comic Con, we attended the DEXTER panel and learned quite a few things about the coming season.

- There is going to be a huge shocking reveal in the first episode. Dexter sets something in motion that will change his life forever.

- Dexter will become more of his own man this season.

- Agent Lundy will not be back.

- Deb will have a new relationship.

- They actually thought of doing a Dexter musical episode. (Now I want to see that!) To which Michael C. Hall replied "Maybe we'll do a live episode!" (Ha!)

- They are not planning a Dexter comic book for now.

- Jimmy Smits will play a new character this season.

- Dexter won't become all good this season, because once he does the show is over (and might I add, I like "bad" Dexter.)

- Question: "Who has been your favorite kill so far (pause).... in the show"
Michael C. Hall "Oh, thank God you said that. (audience laughs) It was satisfying to kill Little Chino." He also added that killing Dexter's mother's killer was also satisfying.

- Dexter Season 2 DVD will be released on August 19.

- A Dexter video game will be released exclusively on iPhone and iPod touch. The game will be in episodic style and will make use of the phone, sms, and other phone attributes.

- When asked if she will be in Dollhouse, Julie Denz said that there was no talk of it but that she would love to work on it.

DEXTER News Comic Con 2008

This was the last panel I attended and even though I was tired out of my mind, it was one of my favorite TV panels because the cast was just so fun (as you can tell from the videos below).

EUREKA Panel Video Comic Con 2008

During Comic Con, we were able to go to HBO's TRUE BLOOD panel, and since I hadn't seen that much about the show, I was curious to hear about it.

The True Blood panel had appearances by creator Alan Ball, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell, Nelsan Ellis, and book author Charlaine Harris. (You can see pictures from the True Blood panel here.)

Here are some of the things we learned about the show:

- The show follows the books it is based on. Alan Ball said he was trying to stay as close to the book as possible.

- In True Blood, vampires are known from the public, but not accepted even though they do not feed on humans anymore (they have a special drink that fulfills their needs like blood does).

- We won't learn why Sookie (Anna Paquin) is telepathic in the first season.

- "Fang Bangers" are people who want to hook up with vampires, ha!

- Turns out that sex with vampires is kinda great. Just imagine someone that has been able to practice for centuries...

- Sam (Sam Trammell) has powers different from Sookie.

- The character of Quinn is Charlaine Harris' personal homage to Vin Diesel.

- HBO has created a lot of viral advertisement for True Blood, one of which is lovebitten.net (a human/vampire dating site).

- When asked if Bubba would be in the show, Alan Ball said he didn't want to give it away, hmmm...

- There are gay characters in the show, both human and vampires.

- They have 3 days of shooting left for the season.

- The season ends with the revelation of the identity of a person who has been doing "bad things" throughout the season.

- Season 1 is pretty much book one.

- The character of Eric is introduced in season 1 and we learn that he is a sheriff.

- Werewolves are mentioned in season 1 but they do not actually appear in any episodes.

- Maenads will be introduced at the end of season 1, even though they first appear in book 2, so that they can set up season 2.

- Charlaine Harris is currently working on book 9 of the series.

True Blood premieres on HBO on September 7th at 9pm.

EUREKA Pictures Comic Con 2008 Panel

This year at Comic Con, Tim Kring, the creator of Heroes, came with a big surprise: the first episode of Season Three of HEROES which is ominously named "The Second Coming".

Needless to say, we were very excited to see what they had in reserve for us this year. So without going through a full recap of the episode "The Second Coming", we decided to go right ahead and give you the juicy details that were in this episode. Word to the wise: if you do not want to know what is going to happen, STOP HERE.

Here are the spoilers of the episode "The Second Coming" (We have voluntarily obscured the spoiler elements - if you want to see it, just simply select the text and voila, all will be revealed):

- The story starts four years in the future. It begins with Claire about to shot Peter. She seemed to have gone on the dark side and after debating with him, shoots him. He stops time and avoids the bullet.

- We find out who shot Nathan and why. It was Peter from the future who wanted to stop Nathan from outing the Heroes which led to them being hunted down by the authorities.

- We find out what happens to Nathan after he gets shot. After being rushed to the emergency room and being pronounced dead, he comes back to life after future Peter kisses him on the forehead.

- Sylar finds Claire at her house and after a game of cat and mouse, manages to subdue her and open her head up to find out what makes her tick. He then takes her power and we finally find out how he takes power from other people, he mimics their brain. Claire is awake during the "procedure."

- Funny moment: When Claire asks Sylar if he's going to eat her brain, he tells her "that's disgusting."

- Mohinder finds out what controls everybody's powers. It is the adrenal gland in the brain and not the brain like his father and him initially thought.

- Hiro gets a message from beyond the grave from his father who tells Hiro that he is the guardian of a secret formula that must never be released to anyone.

- We are introduced to a new Hero who has super speed. She steals the Special Formula from Hiro.

- Nikki appears briefly and it seems like she doesn't remember who she is. She is in a hotel room with some political guy.

- Mohinder comes up with another discovery. He has discovered a formula that can give anyone powers. They would be different for each person.

- Someone comes back from the dead. It is Linderman who looks pretty healthy and seems intent on "helping" Nathan. And turns out, he is the one that healed Nathan.

- Hiro finds out something about Ando. In the future, Ando will have powers too (some sort of electric power that comes out of his hands) and it seems like they will both be on the opposite side.

- Peter's Mom has a power too. She has the power to dream the future.

- Mohinder does something incredible. He injects himself with the Hero making serum and becomes super strong, although it remains unclear what is the extent of his powers.

- We find out something about Claire's powers. Not only does she heal, but according to Sylar who fiddled in her brain, she cannot die, and neither can he now.

And one of the coolest parts: Future Peter sends present Peter away and towards the end we find out that present Peter is being held in Level 5 of the company, but his appearance has changed, and Veronica Mars fans this is for you, he is now played by none other than Francis Capra (Weevil). As he screams that he is Peter Petrelli, we see that HRG is also being held in one of the other cells.

This episode bods well for this season. Very exciting stuff! I can't wait to see more.
